Back to the room now. The journey continues tomorrow on day number three.
Have you ever heard a language like that? That is the Uyghur dialect, I believe. We just heard
I am currently in Kuala Airport and I'm flying to... hold on... I'm flying to
Ruoqiang. I may have pronounced that incorrectly. But I'm just waiting for my flight now.
I am temporarily departing from the MG team because the next region that we're driving
through, there's a military base there. So foreigners are not allowed to drive through
this region. So I have to fly over the region in an airplane. It takes about 40 minutes.
I'm just in the airport now. I will be meeting MG team
on the other side and it is day number three. Day number three. Let's go.
Boarding the flight now. Man, tiny little plane. Looks like a private jet.
Wow, we just landed. Just walking the streets of Ruoqiang. I wish I had some more information for
you. But this is obviously my first time to come here. It's really quite sandy. I mean, you saw
when we were flying over that huge desert that we flew over and there's sand in the air. I think
I've got sand in my teeth. You can see it just blowing everywhere. Wow. Right, I made it back
to my room. I managed to get some authentic Xinjiang kao baozi. I'm going to try some of
those. Man, I'm just covered in... I don't know if you can see that on the camera.
Covered in the kind of sand, fine sand dust. Man, I'm so dry. This is my room anyway. It's a pretty
nice room to stay in a small town like this. It's kind of like a burger or a pie.
I think that's why I like it so much. Just came back outside now and it is now
almost 7pm, right? And you can see the sun there in the sky has still not set. And also, it looks
like I must have been in some kind of sandstorm because look now. There's no more sand and like
dust in the air. It must have been a sandstorm. I had all that sand in my teeth. Now, we are
looking for some kao rou. Authentic Xinjiang kao rou. That's the next mission.
I actually thought for a second that they were selling some kind of like eagle meats.
But I should have just read the sign because it has the character for lamb there.
So, I think I need to improve my Chinese reading. Look at the fatty part.
Oh my god, it just melts in your mouth.
It really is just such a fascinating region to travel through Xinjiang. It's steeped in rich
cultural heritage and some of the landscapes, the nature is truly spectacular. I've never seen
anything like it. And so, after coming here and seeing Xinjiang with my own eyes, it kind of makes
you think the nonsense that Western media is coming out with. It's ridiculous. It doesn't
make sense. It doesn't add up. After you come here and see Xinjiang for yourself, it doesn't
make sense what they're spouting. The nonsense that they're spouting. It's a load of old bollocks.
The MG team has just arrived at the hotel. They had to drive all the way here. It's 8 30.
So, anyway, that is the end of day three. The journey continues day four tomorrow. I'll see you
then. Just finished having some dumplings here and we have now passed over the border
from Xinjiang into Qinghai. And it's quite sunny but also it is snowing. Man, it's so bright. Hold
on. I can't see anything. I've got snow in my eyes. Wow, it's snowing. I've not seen snow in years.
Breathing the fresh snow.
It's a little bit high.
Such a lovely face. We've just arrived at the Jade River. Wow, look at the water. It's insane.
Look at the snow. The water's so clear. Crystal clear. I think I want to go for a
swim inside there. It'd be so refreshing. An ice swim. Man, it is getting quite cold now.
We're at around 3 000 feet now. Man, this is amazing. You stand out here for a while.
I don't have any gloves on. I think I might get frostbitten. Might get a bit frostbitten.
Feel like I'm in Glasgow. Right, just arrived at the hotel now. We are in, well, I don't actually
know where we are. But that is the end of day number four. The final day, day number five,
continues tomorrow. See you then. Good morning. We're about to set off. It is day five. I'm still
not quite sure where we are. We're somewhere still on the border between
Xinjiang and Qinghai. And it's saying on my watch that it is minus 10.
There's our MG7 there. It's going to be taking us far and wide across the land this morning.
Stopped off at Ya Dan Di Mao. It's kind of a mix between the moon and the desert,
the desert sand. I'm tracking some kind of animal here. I think it might be that dog over there.
Welcome to the moon.
Well, look at here. It seems we have a dead sheepy. I wonder if that is
You can see the road that we came through on here, the highway there. I mean, it's just crazy.
It shows you China's speed. It shows you the extent of China's infrastructure. There's a road
all the way out here on the moon even. It feels like we're on the moon.
This is just roads, bridges, trains everywhere in the desert through the snowy mountains that
went through grasslands. You know, it's crazy. Man, look at this view. It's beautiful.
I'll make it to the top.
I'm running around on the moon. How's this possible? Oh my God, there's a car over there.
How can there be cars on the moon? I'm out of breath now.
The moon marathon continues. This is crazy. Oh my God.
The sand, the sand is trying to,
the sand is trying to beat me. I don't want to be beaten by the sand. We've made it.
We've made it to the lake. Oh man. Oh, it's like a beach. It is a beach.
Oh wow. The water's frozen.
What the hell? This is as if we paused a moment in time. The world is standing still.
It's surreal. Good morning. Just in the airport now in Guam. It is day number six.
It is the end of the journey for me. It's been a fascinating trip across Xinjiang and into Qinghai,
but now it's the end of the line for me. I'm going to go home. I've said my goodbyes to the
NG team. I wish them all the best in this Guinness world record attempt, passing the highest altitude
crossing record. They will go on now into Tibet and reach the peak and break the record. For me,
I will go home now. It's been a great journey. Really enjoyed it. And that is the end of this
video. So I will see you in the next one. Signing off. Signing off.
