Hello and welcome to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. I'm in the magnificent beautiful city of Guilin. Let's go. Oh my god, look at that view. I think I may have just died and gone to heaven. I am at Guihai Qinglan and just take a look at this place. It is absolutely stunning. I don't think I've ever seen grass this green before. Not even in England. I mean, look at the lake. The lake has black swans as well. They have Chinese, English, Korean and Russian on the signs there. How considerate. And I speak all of those languages by the way. Ni hao. Hello. Annyeonghaseyo. Privyet. Smart guy, what can I say? All this week here in Guilin is the Guilin Arts Festival and now we're going to see a little performance by these little kiddos. I have now arrived at the famous Xian Lake. You can see the sun and moon pagodas there and the Sun Pagoda. That is the world's tallest bronze pagoda. And also it is one of very few pagodas to have an elevator inside of it. Here it is. Guilin Festival. The arts, music, theatre has taken over the city. There's performances everywhere you go. From New Zealand they did a traditional dance. He's a big fellow. It's a real life New Zealand. I have now just come to see the Elephant Trunk Hill and I thought you had to pay but it's for free. So that's pretty good. We're almost at the top. Getting out of breath with all these steps. I think that's the top there. It's not actually that, it didn't take that long. It took me about five minutes you know because I'm very healthy and speedy. Oh my god look at this view. Wow that is amazing. Guilin is such a green and lush city. It's kind of like the buildings just intertwine with the natural environment. I mean you can just see mountains just popping up and trees just everywhere. So obviously I can't show you the famous elephant trunk part of it because I'm actually on it. So let me just head down now and get to a good viewpoint. Okay we have arrived. There it is in the distance. Oh wow she's posing on the boat there in the minority clothes with the birds that can catch the fish. Wow and there is the main attraction. You can see over in the distance there surrounded by trees once again is the and the Guilin opera is actually one of China's 10 major opera styles utilizing Guilin dialects and other regional languages. The traditional performances usually tell stories of tragedy and comedy. This is the main walking street I believe and I came here last night and I had some amazing street food. It was beef on a stick and then I had a raw jamon. Let's grab some food here. Oh we have some we have some Uyghur restaurant. Okay got my baozi from those Uyghurs right there. This is actually one of my most favorite foods in China. All that lovely lamb inside. Lots of street performances. Good morning from a very wet Yangshuo here and this is the place you come to if you want to try and get the money shot. Now when I say money shot I'm talking about the picture on the 20 RMB note there's some mountains and this is where that picture actually comes from. You can see some of the the karst landscape there in the background. It's about a two hour drive from Guilin city. You can also get a boat or a ferry from Guilin. I think that takes about three hours. Despite the weather it is quite a nice little quaint town to have a little stroll through. Kind of reminds me of Buxton in England a little bit. You can try lots of snacks and get some souvenirs. Maybe try on the traditional minority clothing. Just managed to get a nice coffee here. Get out of the rain in this nice little coffee shop. Just down by the the riverside now. Oh some people getting some shots in the minority clothing. Oh you can see the misty mountains there in the background. We have some rafts here. There's no one around. Maybe I could just sneak on one and sail off. And sail down the river. Looks like there's no paddle. Maybe next time. Just look at that. I am now back in Guilin. I'm just on the top of my hotel here. I've got a nice view looking down the river. Unfortunately the weather has followed us from Yangshuo. The rain has come here too. But anyway that is the end of this video. Having an amazing time exploring this region. Seeing these magnificent landscapes here and trying all the delicious food.
