I held out for 10 years in
Amsterdam but I am finally home.
This is my view from my new
garden and if you know where I come from
then it is actually very logical why
I wanted to live here again and in this
video I explain why that is so is I'm going
back to my old village my old
neighbors and Tell Why city life has
been just as beautiful for me look
when I was a little boy growing up in
Meedhuizen I had no idea
what kind of remote area I actually lived in I
was just busy with other things
[Music]
until I came into contact with
this when I played this GTA Vice City
I knew for sure later when I grow up
I move to the big city where it
all happens barking dogs
sirens and everything that God
has forbidden but of course I was still much too
young so I continued with my
life in the countryside in Welcome to the

reminder mandatory intake procedure
June 31 you have now
deregistered from study 1 with Studielink August
2013 10 in the morning Hello, my name is
Kelvin boera and I have already
deregistered from the faculty of economics
and business administration. That night I had deregistered from my study my mother in a
rather drunken state on the sidewalk in front of
sn bar de Ko and joret Dear. I did
n't think that was very
smart of course, but it was a good thing since I
had already secured an apartment for my life
as a student, I decided to
make it an Amsterdam gap year. Well,
interesting. My dream had come true. I
lived in the
city, didn't go to school, didn't go to school, did
n't. to
school this house here is the first
house in Amsterdam where I lived the first
four years from the age of 177 to the age of
21 I lived here with Peter you
may recognize it from the
videos of the cinema
era I have no idea who was there
live now, but I don't dare to just
ring the doorbell, so I first go to the
upstairs neighbor, who is still the same
man as when we lived there and
I still know him.
Hello, hello, if it is not Kelvin
and such a scary man who
sitting at the top of the stairs all day, come upstairs Yes
this is Yes this is the view
Well we are back home you have finished
filming but then the window can be closed oh oh it's
getting cold this is also a
memory for you Oh what well, right?
Did we give this to you? Well, if
you don't know, then Peter
arranged it. Yes, No. I still know.
This was real, that was my idea. Oh, then.
You haven't lived there that long either. I
believe that was Peter. I had
a question like yes, a very
expensive lens will be delivered tomorrow, but it has to
be signed by an adult, would you like to
sign for it, how nice, yes, you haven't
aged a bit, you look exactly the same,
Oh mustache,
yes, who's in it, nice to see that everything is
going well, okay,
thanks, I rang the doorbell at
the house but nothing happened. It's
good to live in that place.
I paid €100 in rent at the time. Now and
then I can have a nice meal and a
pair of new shoes. €600. per month in
fixed costs that I had to cough up and
because I had to do that I automatically
ended up in a kind of Ferris wheel that
actually never
stops par is open 247 365 Every decade
Every goddamn Century Monday
coming up with videos all day editing I had to
earn money because I produce videos on Tuesday
in other words, emailing 500 people to
ask if I could film somewhere for free.
Yes, I had no budget because on
Wednesday I had shitty business conversations
with brands that had to pay for
videos because yes, every Thursday I was a
guest at one or another interview and
that
Friday edit make thumbnail upload
very few views really bummed just
drinking to forget it all
but don't spend too much because
filming videos on Saturday goes to [ __ ] the whole weekend
but during the weekend people helped
voluntarily and that was useful in
connection with that and
Sunday and that's how it went for years, six, sometimes
7 days a week, gases, gases, gases and
then just catch your breath, but not for too
long because that 1600 peak became everything
but more rent increase, waste
tax, municipal tax,
water board tax, extra insurance,
extra insurance, parking costs
are doubled and therefore the
Ferris wheel just goes faster
faster and faster it doesn't stop and
that automatically brings me to the first
reason why I
fled Amsterdam last year I only paid €100 in
leasehold leasehold I
don't even know what leasehold is €40 in
waste tax € 200 in
parking costs and €6 for a tea at
the Albert Kuip Market €6 for hot water
guys and not everything is Only more expensive
things are also crazier or something This is a
football field and then this is a
football field in the city This is a car
and this is a car in the city This is
skating and this is skating in Well,
you get it and before we get to
the last and most important reason,
I'm first going to tell you something about
airup, you know of course that as
owner of Charlie I'm a big fan I love
drinking water and Erb also helps with that,
so a big shoutout to you, most
of you will know the concept by now,
but through this
scent, I give some flavor
through scent and this way
drinking water not only becomes less boring
but also tastier if you also want
to order your own aup bottle then go to
ercom get yours do it nicely and
then finally the third and
most important reason the countryside is
boring and that is a good thing Nina and I want to
have children and if you then think
about it. Then you start to think, okay,
how do I want my children to grow up
and because there are so few distractions in the countryside,
you actually become kind of
forced to be creative and because of the
boredom you start making things that don't
exist yet because there are no tree It is you make
it yourself because there is no Amsterdam
winter paradise you make it yourself and
because there is no Easter fire you
just set the whole thing on fire and in
that way you actually learn from an
early age or unconsciously that life
is very feasible even if there is nothing at all
because I am sure that if
I had not grown up in the countryside
I would never have learned that
this could change into this
