However, the reason why we are meeting here today is very painful. Tomorrow is the exact day, 25 years, when the Communist Party of China launched one of the most extensive political campaigns since the end of the Cultural Revolution. A complex effort to eradicate Falun Gong, meditation and spiritual discipline, practiced by tens of millions of Chinese. During its existence, this campaign bore all the usual marks. Public burning of books, many years of punishment in labor camps, endless demonizing propaganda, mass incarceration and the abuse of power to force the practitioners to stand up for their faith, and this with torture. In 1999, when it all began, only a few imagined that Falun Gong would survive and that this violent persecution would continue 25 years later. However, this is today's reality. Even after the death of Chiang Tse-min in November 2022, which started the ruthless persecution, the Communist Party of China did not allow the communist regime to torture, silence and imprison Falun Gong practitioners. The Chinese authorities and party sources clearly show that the persecution of Falun Gong is perceived as an intermediate part of the Communist Party's effort to maintain its power. The values and principles of Falun Gong are clearly expressed in the words truthfulness, compassion, tolerance. Who other than the greatest gangsters can have a problem with these values? What more proves the crime of this regime than the fact that it has a peaceful spiritual practice The founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li, calls on practitioners to be loving and compassionate. He says that the world in which everyone cultivates their inner self and takes care of each other will naturally change for the better. Isn't this a more effective guide on how to stabilize society? How to make a diametrically different approach compared to the methods of the Communist Party, which keeps society together with constant fear and endless repression? Pope John Paul II once declared that religious freedom is based on the very dignity of human beings and is the most fundamental right of every human being. Everything Falun Gong practitioners do today is nothing less than protecting human rights and dignity not only of themselves but of every human being on earth. John Paul II contributed to the fall of communism in Eastern Europe. The Communist Party of China, however, persisted in power. Thanks to Western money and technology, it is even stronger than ever before. However, the introduction of quasi-market economy did not change the DNA of this criminal party which is still based on hatred, class struggle and atheism. And this is where the reason for following Falun Gong and its practitioners lies. I would like to once again ask the political representatives of our beautiful country to make every effort to advocate religious freedom in the People's Republic of China. In conclusion, I would like to mention the quote of Martin Luther King, who once declared that the lawlessness that threatens humanity is a threat to justice everywhere. Thank you for your kind attention. We fill the space with what we are full of. And the Falun Dafa practitioners fill the space with the truth they feel is our truth. It is sad and remarkable that during 25 years so many followers of Falun Gong have been tormented. It must be said clearly that there is no longer any follow-up from the Chinese authorities. The followers of Falun Gong do not vote and do not spread violence or hatred. They have no intention of dividing the Chinese society. I express human solidarity with the followers of this movement. Dear participants of the event, I join your activity, which is reminiscent of the tragic 25th anniversary of following Falun Gong practitioners. I have always been against the violation of rights and freedom of individuals and groups, which, as history shows, mercilessly liquidated totalitarian regimes. In the past century, we have also experienced it. In 2019, we discussed the persecution of the followers and members of Falun Gong thanks to an approved petition in the Senate. In November, I met Mr. David Matas. The meeting confirmed to me that the situation is still unclear. I think that every action, including today's one, is important in the fight for human rights of religious and ethnic minorities in China. The action will provide support to the humiliated and those who believe that they are not alone and lead us to believe that we must be careful. Thank you for your efforts. Unfortunately, I cannot participate, but with respect I join the protest. Confirmed facts from various sources still speak of a large number of those who in China are subjected to human rights violations. The persecution, humiliation and torture of these victims is entirely unacceptable and opposes all human rights. We must not be hostile and face injustice. Thank you for your activities and protests. So much from Senator Lumír Cantor. The next greeting is from the former Minister of Culture and member of the Council of Governors for Human Rights Daniel Herman. Persecution, humiliation, destruction of lives, torture to the point of death is the fate of thousands of prisoners of conscience in some countries of the world. In these days, we especially remember four centuries of life in such conditions for Falun Dafa practitioners in Chinese China. More than 70 years of communist rule. In this case, it is especially about anti-crime, buying from the organs of the killed people. Their only excuse was that they tried to cultivate their lives and thus the whole society. That they sent just thoughts to the authorities to even out injustice in their country. Similarly, this also applies to persecuted Christians and followers of other religious or ethnic minorities, who are about their human rights in China. When I had the honor to meet in 2016 as a member of the government of this country at the Ministry of Culture with the Tibetan Dalai Lama, we talked, among other things, about the need and great power of collecting spiritual energy. I have been doing this every day since then with my personal prayer. And I ask the Almighty for strength and help from above for those who suffer. This meeting is at least a small stone in the mosaic of creating a positive synergy that embraces the world in favor of all those who are still suffering in Chinese prisons and camps. As their suffering ends and their prisoners and captives learn by mistake the inhuman ideology they serve. So much from Daniel Herman. Now we will proceed to break the chain that symbolizes this 25-year-old brutal persecution. I ask our guests to break this chain with the hands of Chinese policemen who will hold it. In the late 90s, Chinese government surveys said up to 70 million people were practicing Falun Gong daily. Health bills were decreasing, crime rates were falling and morality was rising. So why were these people targeted for elimination and organ harvesting? Mona Ye was one of the millions meditating in parks every day. There was a park across the street from my house. Because the first exercise site couldn't hold so many people anymore it divided into the second, the third, the fourth. So at every street corner and in every park you could see people practicing Falun Gong. It was from different kind in society. It was many policemen and military. It was just fundamental part of society at that time and everybody knew somebody who practiced. Falun Gong is a traditional practice of self-cultivation, a practice of slow-moving exercises, meditation and studying of the principles of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance and trying to adopt those into your life. After two years of interrogation, he was sentenced to four years at a Shanghai prison for teaching others to visit mingwei.org which reports daily on the persecution. Every morning after I woke up, I was taken to a room and forced to sit about one meter away from the TV set and forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. This kind of brainwashing did not work. So they changed to another approach which was intensive slave labor. Outside the labor camps, propaganda campaigns against Falun Gong were running 24-7 on all media. Like you turn on the TV and literally the only way to describe it is propaganda marathons. You'd have mass book burnings organized by the party, steamrollers going over Falun Gong cassette tapes and CDs. Essentially it's a process of demonizing and dehumanizing, you know, incessant propaganda. In January 2001, Chinese Central Television broadcast this news that people were setting themselves on fire in Tiananmen Square and they claimed that these were Falun Gong practitioners. This propaganda story used a mother and her 12-year-old daughter. It was a major turning point in the CCP's campaign. They turned Tiananmen Square into a movie set and they used movie techniques to try to create something, but it was staged. Because state-run media broadcast it constantly for a year, people around China, their views on Falun Gong started to change. Initially the Communist Party was very public about its campaign against Falun Gong. But what happened after about, I would say, starting from 2002 is that you started to see really almost more of a media blackout. Falun Gong simply became a taboo topic. With millions of practitioners in detention, one of the worst crimes in history began taking place in hospitals throughout the country as organ transplants suddenly began to skyrocket. We've been asked to investigate allegations that there has been harvesting of organs of Falun Gong in China. Our bottom line conclusion after considering everything as best we could was that the allegations are true. I began conducting comprehensive interviews with medical professionals, Chinese law enforcement personnel, and over 50 refugees from the Lao Gai system. But I estimate that 65,000 Falun Gong were murdered for their organs from 2000 to 2008. Essentially what organ harvesting means is they're taking Falun Gong practitioners, literally like cattle, holding them in prison camps, testing their blood and other vital organs, and when someone comes into the country that needs a heart, a liver, a kidney, they find a match, they take the Falun Gong practitioner, extract their organs, of course killing them in the process. It is literally life and death for many of the upper echelon of the party members that run China to not let the Falun Gong story be told. Falun Gong has been exemplary in its response. It has never dealt with violence in a violent way. It's always responded with forbearance, with love, with truth, with patience, and ultimately that's going to prevail.
