I'm actually staying in my boyfriend's hometown,
but today we took a little day trip.
We are in the town of Ostuni,
also known as the White City.
Very excited, I think we're gonna grab some lunch
and then we're gonna go to a different town after this too.
So immediately I could already tell
that it's a lot quieter over here
because it's not a beach town.
This is like what I imagined Southern Italy to be.
My heart.
So right off the bat, I need to tell you guys
that Ostuni was one of my favorite towns
we visited in Italy.
The atmosphere is so magical,
I highly recommend visiting.
My boyfriend and I were talking about
how we wouldn't be opposed to growing old and retiring here.
I think the best way to experience Ostuni
is by walking through the side streets and alleyways.
Like this random alleyway we took a chance on
happened to lead us to a beautiful lookout point to the sea.
We were starting to get hungry,
so we walked back to the main square to eat some lunch.
We ate at Ostuni Bistro and oh my God,
I devoured these olives and breadsticks.
I have zero self-control when it comes to Italian food.
I ordered a traditional pasta dish
and my bubby ordered a lasagna, which looked incredible.
But anyway, during my entire Italy trip,
Ostuni was one of my favorite towns that we visited.
Right, so we've arrived to our next destination.
Bub, what is this town called again?
Albero Bello.
And this is a town where there's a lot of like
stone kind of cone looking buildings.
Reverse cone.
Reverse cone?
Okay, I see.
So this town actually originated around the 15th century,
which explains the ancient mystique it gives off.
I was also really fascinated by the symbols I saw
on a lot of the roofs.
I looked it up and they're believed to have
some sort of religious or astrological meaning.
This lookout point is so nice.
It is hot as heck though.
But worth the view.
Hi friends.
Made it to Matera.
Honestly, it's kind of nice that it was raining earlier.
It's a little overcast, but it's a lot cooler today,
which is a nice break from how hot it's been recently.
We're just walking through some of these streets.
They're really quiet.
So there's a lot of like private areas,
but every single view is madness.
This is like pre-medieval.
It's gorgeous.
Sorry, y'all.
You know I have to film every single cat that I see.
I was missing my cat back home really bad
and these Italian cats were just so cute
playing on the stones.
So wholesome.
So fun.
So the city of Matera has a really interesting history.
It was actually abandoned from the fifties to the eighties.
And very recently there's been a lot of investment
into renewing the city and now is a hotspot for tourism.
And a bit of a contrast from all of the stone buildings,
this area was actually really colorful
and filled with cafes, restaurants, and shops.
The sun is coming back out.
So it is time for gelato.
So I'm finally showing you guys Bari,
which is where I was staying a majority of my Italy trip.
So this was actually my last day
and my boyfriend and I met up with his parents
at this gorgeous beach club.
The vibes were absolutely immaculate,
but it was really hot and humid that day.
So we chugged these delicious lemon waters to cool down
because we were sweating an embarrassing amount.
But anyway, we explored the area a little bit
and went to the dock.
I just have such a soft spot for beach towns
since I grew up in one as well.
Then we went into my favorite part of Bari,
which is the old town.
I wanted to buy some souvenirs for my family,
but y'all I was melting in the heat.
I was unwell.
But it was all good.
We went into some shops
and I got the souvenirs that I wanted.
Before we headed home for lunch,
we found this precious kitty taking a nap on top of a car.
I'll never miss a chance to share cat content.
And for my final night in Bari,
my boyfriend took us out to dinner on the sea.
He's getting an aesthetic pic of our appetizer.
We got these delicious mussels.
And of course, my final meal would be none other than pizza.
Also, I didn't realize in Italy, you cut your own pizza.
Like in America, it always comes pre-cut.
So I just thought that was interesting.
But anyway, my bubs and I enjoyed our last meal together
by the sunset.
And I couldn't have asked for a better way
to spend our final moments together on this trip.
