Carina just finished the biggest adventure of her life: traveling the Pan-American Highway in a Van from Ushuaia to California. In this episode she explains how she used her Van as an office and highlight her favorite countries along the way. ➸ Check out Carina’s channel for more: / travelrunplay
Like many other Germans Carina decided to head to Australia on her first big trip abroad and got bitten by the travel bug. While working as a Motion Designer in Agencies and as a Freelancer for a few years she realized that she could also combine both of her passions and travel deeper.
Instead of going on a big backpacking trip, Carina made one of her dream come true and bought a VW van, shipped it to South America and went on a 1,5 year long trip along the Pan-American Highway starting in Montevideo heading south to Ushuaia and up on the other side of the continent till Colombia.
After needing to ship the van a second time she continued on her road trip through Central America until she finally reached California where she ended this amazing trip of a lifetime.

This video is part of „A Life of Travel“ - a documentary series introducing you to several jobs & career paths which enable you to combine travel and work. In this series I interviewed world travelers from all around the world with different professions who give you tips and advice on how you can get started traveling but also name their favorite travel destinations. I hope you like it! This particular video was filmed in the InterCity Hotel in Leipzig. Thanks to Leipzig Tourism and the InterCity Hotel Leipzig for the support: #Vanlife
While many only dream of traveling the world, these people have made travel a priority without
being rich and worked hard to turn it into their job. In this documentary series they tell their
story and give you tips how you can make it happen too. Stop dreaming and get inspired to live a life
of travel. My name is Corinna, I'm a motion designer and blogger and I'm from Mainz in Germany.
My first big trip was my exchange semester in Melbourne, Australia and before I never
traveled that much, I never traveled that far and this was really the first time I get to know
another culture, another totally different place. I loved the warmth, I loved the nature,
the beautiful nature. I've never seen anything like that before in my life. This was really the
point when I thought, well there's more in this world than my hometown or whatever and
this is when I wanted to see more of the world.
After a while I realized that I could do my motion design jobs that I usually did in agencies as a
freelancer. Also while I was traveling, so I got projects on the road and then I finally
decided on going on a big trip and I traveled South America in a van doing my motion design
freelance stuff from that place. I shipped the van from Germany to South America and then traveled
there over a year and then one more half a year in Central America in the USA and this was really
so great because be on the road and make all of these incredible experiences, connect to people
from South America from such different cultures and backgrounds and that I could figure it out
while working, earning money and living the life I always wanted to live.
So
my three favorite spots of this whole journey I did were Bolivia because it's just so authentic
and it's something I've never seen before. It's really a very interesting place, it's so different
from all of the other countries in South America and I recommend everybody to go there if you're
in South America. My second favorite spot is Colombia. Colombia is a country that struggled
for a long time in history and just certainly opened up to tourism and really welcomes everybody
from all over the world. You really feel that the people enjoy you being in the country because you
traveling their country is a proof that the situation in the country really got better
and that it's finally secure to travel. And last but not least, Mexico. Mexico is a magical place.
You can have the most beautiful white beaches, you can have mountains, you can have jungle,
you can have the most amazing food and the people are so nice too. They love music
and Mexico is really a place that makes you feel at home.
If you want to start a life of travel I would recommend save a lot of money. Do a lot of
different jobs, really try to work hard and save up as much money as you can because this gives you
the security in the first place that you can go out and you say okay I've got five thousand dollars
or euro on my bank account and I could travel for maybe five months, maybe more. You can work
in a hostel, you can work on a farm, you can do work and travel and then you can figure out what
you want to do to travel longer.
