I am now at the very center of this geological park and the landscape in front of me is simply
amazing. Look! Good morning everyone. Welcome back to the channel. Now it's 10 a.m in the morning and
today I am going to see one geological wonder, a quite a unique landform, a UNESCO site and
also China's first national forest park at Wulinyuan. Many tourists have arrived already
and I'm going to get a ticket. So for many people Zhangjiajie is known as the place where the
prototype of Avatar's hallelujah mountain came from. There are many many freestanding rock
pillars and it's quite unique to this region. It's also a dream place for drone pilots. Today
I've got three batteries in my bag and I'm really excited to fly my drone. As China's top destination
the public transport within this scenic zone is extremely well organized. So behind me those are
all the shuttle buses and I've just got my ticket. There are different items so eventually I also got
a package which is 320 something and this includes the public transport within the scenic
zone, cable car ride and the elevator. My entrance ticket is valid for four days because the whole
national park is very big. I can only cover a small part today but the good thing with Chinese
scenic zone is that they always try to make your trip very efficient and comfortable so that even
the old people even the kids can also enjoy. I didn't walk much and I'm already in the center
of the scenic zone. Look I want to walk to the platform where I can fly the drone
to capture the elevator but look those are the monkeys. You have to be careful because
they can be quite naughty. They can take food from you or even your cameras. Now you can see the
longest outdoor elevator in the world. Half of it is hiding behind a rock and it can take
tourists. Here there is a sign that do not mess with white monkeys because they can turn really aggressive.
I will be with a group of tourists and this elevator is said to have the largest carrying
capacity and it can speed up to more than 300 meters in only 80 seconds.
That is a fast ride and this elevator is double deck so which means there are another
about 32 persons on top of my head. After that elevator I walked for maybe five minutes and then
I took another shuttle bus. So you see that's what I mean. Chinese scenic zones makes your trip
very comfortable.
I am now at the very center of this geological park and the landscape in front of me is simply
amazing. Look there are so many of those freestanding sandstone rock pillars
formed by the power of nature and time. This is a steep bridge over a big canyon. Look!
And that's the prototype of Hallelujah Mountain in the movie Avatar. I don't know whether it's
this one or this one but they pretty much look the same. This one is super long.
Maybe it's around 800 meters tall.
Those are normally quite expensive because it's wired but here it's for 5 yuan. I got maybe 20 small pieces of that.
Today I used up all my three batteries of the drone and it is a lot of fun trying to play with
the drone. Try to fly from different angles. And now it's 5 p.m. I'm going to take a quick exit
iconic to Hunan province. However this landscape is very regional. You can also find similar
landscape in Hubei province, in Chongqing and also in Guizhou province. Many of the villages locate
either on top of those huge plateaus or in the Grand Canyon such as this one. This village is
called Dehang Miaozhai and I arrived in late afternoon and I stayed in a local people's house.
My room is 100 yuan per night. It's not that expensive at all and since I don't have that
much time, I am going to take a very relaxed walk in the village.
She's so impressive. I think she's maybe
over 70, 75 years old but she carries so much on her shoulder.
Now many families are running a small hostel and then provide accommodation
and also catering services. This village is right at the bottom of the canyon.
Now it's a low season so I hardly see any tourists except for me.
They are also very different noodles. This is yellow noodle, this is
rice noodle and a shrimp paste.
You might find those foods strange but they are mountain delicacies and those are from the rivers,
crab and it's really hard to find them and that's why she said
so they don't want to eat it because they are too hard to get.
To be honest, the price is very reasonable because it's hand-woven. She
does it by herself and then she got a tailor who made all those clothes so every piece is like
$20 which is not expensive at all.
That's her house.
and thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next video.
