Taking the World’s Most Beautiful Train Ride From Italy to Switzerland - Bernina Express

We are here in Tirano, Italy and we are about to ride the world's most beautiful train ride from Italy to Switzerland and back. And we stay here. This is our B&B, it's adorable, we love it. And the train is back there. Literally two minute walk. But now is the day before we go enjoy a little bit Tirano. Yes, let's go see the church, maybe get a gelato and then later go to dinner. Look the details of this church. I swear everyone says oh after so many churches in Europe they all start to look the same. You guys are wrong. Every single one is unique and beautiful and I can stare at it all day. Let's go inside. I love discovering new beautiful little towns. New beautiful towns in Italy. It's always like you come to see Switzerland, yes but before Switzerland, Italy give you always the last touch to say hey remember us. That's why we're going and then coming back. So now we're going to try some typical traditional foods from this region. This region is famous for their pork cuisine is what they call it. So for our antipasti we have, I'm going to put it here because I don't know how to pronounce it but it's like a buckwheat cheese filled fried ball with salad which sounds like a mozzarella ball. And then our main course is tagliatelle made from buckwheat with I think potato, arugula. Again this pork cuisine and then for dessert I'm getting the apple torte which is from this region and Alessio's got some kind of liquor ice cream thing going on. Because this is typical. All typical from this area. Cos'è? All the cheese. We start really good. You always trust me in food and this is where you need to go to eat. So it's the morning of the train. It's the morning of the train. And we're gonna get breakfast at this little cafe at the corner. Yeah so excited okay I'm dressed with the colors to the train. Alessio's gonna think that he's like a train conductor. You know when you're American and you dress for the movies, Batman whatever when you go see it. Where's your hat? Where's your conductor hat? You come to the train too? Yes. You won't brag a lot. I won't brag a lot. So this is the first class and that is the second class. The difference it is you are the first class you have all the windows so you can see all more beautiful but you cannot take down the windows if it's really hot you have something to push the button and coming down but like a shade shade but still hot to the second class instead you can open the windows and I think it's fine we are in the second class because we don't get the first class because they already booked all the first class. In second class have this but I don't know if we are here we need to check the tickets. This is so cool. Yeah let's let's check the tickets. Okay. All right we was thinking it was just the small window but we got the big window. Can you close the window? Oh wow. You're happy? Yes. We're leaving huh? I don't know if you know this but I love trains. Yes you love trains. There we go you're a new country. So this train is a UNESCO heritage site because of all of the way that they created it the industry that it took in the design and apart it is the I think the highest track in Europe and the steepest track in the world so when you go up from the altitude it's the one that crosses the most altitude. You go through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges so it's super scenic and beautiful. You have to do it Agassi you have to do it. What is the best seat to sit down? So we read when you're going from Sierrano to St. Moritz you need to be on the left side so that would be that side we're on the right side right now but honestly I think that these are amazing no matter where you are. Because they they do circles so they go up. Everybody gets to see something beautiful plus the windows being so large you can see on both sides so I really think don't worry about it. Yeah because this view you can see it with the lake even on the other side. Because they keep turning. They just keep turning of course maybe reflection of the sun. This we have the reflection of the sun there we don't have the reflection of the sun so maybe it's better to the other side. It also has to do with the timing of where the sun is. Oh yeah the time of the year and everything. I don't think it matters I think everybody gets a good view. How are you enjoying this environment? It's a trip guys you have to do it because it's amazing you you cannot not do this and go like we did because this little tree is amazing I think you can go every season I won't go come back in fall winter with the snow. This glacier is gorgeous. It's gorgeous. And look how it's coming down I mean from up there it is the snow and then start melting. This is natural you can stop here five minutes or sometimes 15 jump and take your picture okay let's get back on the train get back on the train go Amare go Amare. The guy is there. Amare open. You make me so nervous. We have chocolate from the train. Try it let's see if it's spitz or knobby. If it's mind blowing. I like it. Wait in Italy you say choo choo. Yeah why are you saying it in English? Choo choo. Choo choo? Why do you say choo? Choo choo. Coming after this. Okay but it's the sound of the whistle choo choo. Yeah we still don't do choo choo. Yeah. We arrived to St. Moritz. We're here. Now let's go try to find something to eat. Something cheesy. Cheesy. Cheesy spizzera. Yeah cheese and chocolate. You Amare asked the recipe and I said no. They laughed I said no no no no it's Vietnam though. It was really good. It was the best actually. We I don't know what was some herbs. I'm gonna have to try and recreate it at home. But I don't think I'm going to. Maybe that was the herbs. That cigarette plate. Cigarette plate. Shoot. Joyce we need a truck. How is it? Good? So guys this when you did your train. This is where you need to go to eat. It's amazing. They're Italians. I never had a service like this. Even in America. Incredible. They even offer us and then say you cannot say no. So they have like an American mentality with Italian gentilezza. And then it's right there. Yep you go from the train station. You go down under walk across and then you come right here. You come here and then later on you go take your chocolate cane this direction. Like there where is that uh Switzerland flag. Yes. So I already booked your trip guys. I already booked your trip. Are amazing. It's like a treasure box. It's a treasure box. I would like to know. Okay. We are debating if buy chocolate or not. We're gonna get something. But I don't know what yet. But we don't know what. How much we want to spend. We are tracked for that once. Let's get this one. All right. I don't want to. Go ahead. Spend that money. But do we get this? It's all over. Because when we did the samples. We tried the pink one. And we was happy. It was amazing. And these were all over the store. Like maybe this is their. This is. Eat it with the lake in the background. So we have to say goodbye to Saint Moritz. Yeah what do you think? So chocolate. I like it. Yeah no. We have a great experience to the restaurant. Incredible. I think maybe the best experience here. The weather is beautiful. The flowers here might be what is my favorite part of this spot. You need. We're not gonna show you. Because you have to. But you need to take this trail and go around to the lake. Because it's just amazing. So after the train. Go eat fast. Take your chocolate. Because maybe you have 3-4 hours before the next train. And then take a walk. And then go back. And go back. I am loving this day. This is like one of my favorite days that we've ever spent. Yeah.
