Everything Happens for a Reason | Learn Chinese Now

all right everyone welcome to learn Chinese now I am your new host Jared Madsen now a couple weeks ago Ben and I made a video about five Chinese Expressions one of the viewers in the comments asked about the expression everything happens for a reason so I figured what better than everything happens for a reason so in English everything happens for a reason has a little bit of kind of this mystical undertone right like bigger things are at Place something something greater is going on in the universe to have something happen right so does this expression exist in Chinese yeah actually it has an expression that is from Buddhism that has a little extra line at the end all right so we're going to tackle that so the first part is now you'll notice is five characters it's not four characters most of the chungus most of the expressions in China are four characters long that's pretty standard but because this is from a Buddhist text it's a little bit more like poetry so we have to look at it as poetry first two characters sure means a matter or a thing and true means to happen so search who basically means something happens all right b means must necessarily right yo means to have and Yin means a cause or a reason so means that there there must be a reason right so sure if anything happens there must be a reason or everything happens for a reason all right now this expression alone is a pretty good one right you can say it people will be like oh that's yeah that's a that's good expression right something happens and you go people will go oh okay that's pretty good but you want to be extra Pro you add the second line to that so again this is kind of part of a poem that's how that's how it was written right so it has okay means no or to not have fun means wind so wufung means no wind means to raise or rise and lung means a wave like a wave on the ocean right so long means without wind no waves would rise or basically without wind there would be no waves so you have to say the whole expression together that now you are spouting Buddhist poetry if that doesn't get you serious street cred I don't know what will all right thank you everyone if you have any other expression that you would like to learn please leave that in the comments below and please like And subscribe alright see you next week foreign [Music] [Music]
