let's go over how to set up a pin for
your phone so you can have a lock if
someone ever picked up your phone and
tried to get into it they'd have to put
in your code so we'll set that up and
then we'll go over how to set up a
fingerprint so you can unlock the phone
simply using your fingerprint you won't
have to use that code all the time so to
do this we're going to swipe down from
the home screen and tap on the settings
wheel in the upper right
corner from here we're going to go up to
the security and privacy
section from here tap on lock
screen and then tap on screen lock now
this is where you'll have an option to
select what method you would like to use
to lock your phone there are a few
popular methods one being a pin which is
a four-digit number a password is a
higher level of security because it can
be numbers and letters and then a
pattern is simply drawing a pattern that
um you'll have to remember to unlock the
phone so I'm going to pick for the sake
of this video the pin because I think
the pin tends to be the easiest option
but know that you have three other
options in the password and in the the
um uh gesture uh password as well so I'm
going to make the pin
000000 now um this is actually new
they've changed it where you have to
make the pin six digits it used to be
four now it's six so keep that in mind
when you're making your code think of a
six-digit number that you're going to be
able to remember all the time don't make
it too hard or you may lock yourself out
of your phone so let's make it
00000000
0 I'm going to hit
next now it's giving me a popup saying
that that pen is too easy so I wouldn't
recommend that you use that pen I'm more
so using it for the sake of this video
so I just want to make that clear I'm
going to hit use anyway enter it
again and guess what now we have a pen
set up on the phone now what does this
mean if I put the phone asleep and then
I wake it up if I want to unlock it and
I drag my finger across the screen it's
going to ask me to put in a pen here we
go 6 zeros and now we're back in the
phone so just that easy you can set a
PIN to protect yourself in the event
someone tries to take your phone when
you're sleeping or maybe you put it down
for a minute you come back and it's gone
you always want to have a pin or
password on your phone because it
protects your private information if you
found that video helpful and you want to
learn more cool tips like this check out
the video right here thanks again for
watching take care and as always have a
good one
