Leaving my last camp spot, I'm surprised with an all of a sudden unresponsive bike...in a pretty remote spot with no one around... then I remember something that occurred the day before and it absolutely saved the day. These are the moments and things that make motorcycle travel so incredibly amazing, when things seem to go wrong, it becomes so clear who somehow the perfect combination of events occur that make you realize everything is going just right, and it's magical. I hope you enjoy!
Good morning! It's about 7 a.m. There's my spot. I had a pretty good sleep and let's check this out.
The sun's coming up over there. It's a bit cloudy. I was never very good at getting up in the morning
but gosh do I ever love it. It's a wonderful thing about camping. You rise with the shine
and get to experience the quiet sounds of nobody around. The layers of atmosphere seem to be
thinner. You breathe a little deeper and if you let it you can feel the truth. All is well,
all is peaceful and a new day is here. Now it's time to pack up and roll out. Today's plan was
to head to another mountain town, Mineral del Chico. Little did I know I'd soon have an unexpected
surprise. All right, saying goodbye to this place and yeah, so I'm off.
I just noticed my GoPro didn't fall off. Well, I'm happy I noticed now.
Oh, really? Oh, it burns.
Why don't you want to start? Come on, let's rest.
Okay, come on.
All right, well at least I'm super happy that I have those guys numbers. Look at me,
middle of nowhere. There's my bike looking pretty. Why would it just stop starting?
Okay, well since it might take some, I'm gonna maybe wait for Silvestro to respond,
maybe he can help me. Meantime, I've left the bike and I'm gonna go look for my GoPro
which dropped. Oh, the keys are there. It's okay, nobody's here. Silvestro gave me his what's up
yesterday. He's very kind. Also, big motorcycle guy. He's got like four. He's lived in the States.
He has a BMW. So like, amazing person to have given me the what's up last night. Otherwise,
I'm here. All the workers of this place, they left before me because they're like, nobody's here. So
they left. Here's my GoPro. Yay. It's just a little banged up, not too bad. The oil was a
little low, so I just put some oil in and maybe I will try to jump start. That's gonna be my next
step. Thank you. How are you today? Good. All good. I don't know why it, that could be it,
that the oil got a little low. I just added some oil. Yeah, that's fresh. It just happened.
But that's been happening for like a very long time. The oil is low. I think that's the problem.
Well, I just, I, my GoPro dropped over there, so I just went back for it. I put the oil in. It
didn't start again. I went back for the oil and now I just got back. So maybe we could try it again.
Maybe I turn it off and turn it on. See if it will start again.
What? That's the ABS. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It always does that. It's off-road. I turn it off.
Maybe it's off. See if it will start. I have jumper, like that's what I was gonna try next.
Perfect. That is very important. Yes. From the tire. I have one. Oh, you have it? Yeah.
Okay, let's just see if it starts again. Now it's in neutral, so.
Okay, so it was the oil. Yeah, it's been like that for a while where it doesn't start back.
Oh, then maybe it's almost always like that, but. So I got back on the road. Now with a little
change of plan. Since there was a BMW agency less than two hours away, I decided it was worth
stopping by. But on my way, I made a little pit stop to a natural site.
40 minutes up to Mineral del Chico. Once I get there, I will look around for a place to stay.
Let's see if I can find some place affordable with easy, secure parking for my motorcycle.
And that's walkable to town. Some windows. See the outdoors. So let's see what I find.
I wandered into this place. They showed me this room and I was pleasantly surprised.
The triangle shape was kind of funny, but it had everything I needed.
And I couldn't believe the windows. It even had an amazing view.
She took me to see the other rooms too, which were more the classic style I was used to,
with the windows facing the inner courtyard. These rooms were actually more expensive.
This one they have and it's, I looked at the other ones and it's my favorite.
I love that there's all these windows. It's totally cloudy, but over there,
there's like this beautiful huge rock formation.
Maybe I'll sleep here in the morning. Oh my god, I can't wait to wake up here.
It's so easy getting in on my bike. It's everything I asked for, I swear.
And I'm just loving it. I love this little town. I'm so happy to spend two nights here.
This could not be another one of my most favorite things, opening the door.
Right outside, there are chickens. One little chicken, two, three little chickens.
Oh my god, they're so cute. I love this place.
