I COULDN'T find a place to STAY... [Vlog 07] Motorcycle Diary from Queretaro to San Joaquin, MX

Honestly, that was a bit anti-climatic. Welp, I'm here in Querétaro, which was not a part of the plan, and my bike is currently in the shop. I dropped my bike off at the BMW agency here on Saturday, and I expected I should get it back maybe by Tuesday? So it is Wednesday. Today is Thursday, it's Friday today, and I haven't gotten word about my bike. It could be ready today, tomorrow's Saturday, or I pick it up tomorrow. Which makes a week that I'm here in Querétaro waiting for my bike a life of waiting for my bike. Yep, it turned out I didn't get my bike back until the following Saturday, which was all good because I enjoyed this beautiful city so much. I went on beautiful runs in the morning. Okay, off on a run. Maybe go for a run. I also spent lots of time in coffee shops working on some things. A coffee shop day. Yeah, a coffee shop day. So I'm gonna go to a coffee shop. On my way to a coffee shop. I also learned that, well, something embarrassing, but important. It turns out I'm terrible at vlogging. Today, morning time. It's really cool, actually. I have a semi-idea of where I'm gonna go tomorrow. I don't know where I'm gonna stay. That may all change. And this is really the magic of the road. So I'm gonna have to learn not to blab. I'm sorry my hat looks so dumb. The real big takeaway of this week. Yeah, I'm really enjoying Querétaro. Yeah, so I enjoyed Querétaro and sucked at vlogging. Two things I learned. But in all seriousness, I do want to share some bigger insights. But I need to find a better way. So please bear with me as I get better at this vlogging thing. Finally, I was back at the BMW agency. Today is the day I've been waiting for. I am picking up my girl. I'm excited. I'm gonna take her home now and then we'll be off. So nice and clean. There she is. Good morning. Today is the day I get to take off on the motorcycle again. But my bike is fixed and all good. Oh, I have bags. I did not sleep very well. And actually, I'm going to get coffee. I normally don't drink coffee, but I do enjoy it sometimes. And this place, Breton, it's a French place. And they have great coffee. Anyway, I'm psyched to be on the road. And all right, I'm just taking off now from Querétaro. I'm really grateful that I got to see this beautiful city because I had really not a good clue about how wonderful it is for coming here. By the way, I haven't told you where I'm headed. Just two hours from Querétaro is a little town called San Joaquín. On my way there, I stopped for, of course, my very favorite thing. This will never get old for me. The fact that I can just pull over right off the highway and get fresh juice. A full liter of coconut water for 60 pesos. Does it get better than that? I also passed through this tiny town where something caught my eye and I had to turn around and check it out. Okay, a little secret about me is that I'm kind of a rock nerd. I have no idea why, but I love rocks and crystals so much. Everything in this shop was so pretty and cute. I just wanted to buy everything and decorate my home. But good thing I don't have a home, so I was in the clear. This next and last leg of the ride is the ascent into the mountains. And for me, it was nothing short of spectacular. As I arrived to the town, I really had no idea where I would stay. All right, so it's about 4 20. And I think I'm here. Really pretty over there. I'm not sure the camera is capturing it. I'm not sure this little circle here is the centro. But there's a little kind of tourist sign over there that's quite informative. Take a look. It says in that above sign San Joaquin Centro, which I definitely passed. But I might go there and eat a tiny something. And while I eat a tiny something, I will just see if I can find on the map some kind of camping spot. Let's check it out. Look at these two so fun. Ah, he's having so much fun. I love it. Oh, now going up the hill, tough. At this point, I was really just going in circles. I wasn't really finding a place I felt to eat. So I decided to just get off the bike, take a break, and do some researching on my phone for a place to stay. Well, my researching for a place to stay didn't take me too far. And it was getting late after 5 p.m. by now. So I felt my next step was to continue exploring and start asking around to some locals. ¿Conoces que hay una hotel o cabañas o espacio para acampar? Solo una lugar por mi moto, un espacio seguro por mi moto. Es que aquí hay espacio, pero para donde acampar, porque ya las cabañas ya están ocupadas todas. Ah, pero hay una espacio para acampar. A ver, déjeme las preguntas y que le vengan. Ah, ok. Gracias. Ay, chiquito. Look at that face. Yeah, you are. The owner offered to take me to see the campings. But we had to go by four-wheel because it was basically nestled into the hillside. I can't tell you how much joy this was bringing me just riding on the back of the four-wheeler and the dogs running alongside. It was so much fun. Ah, ok. So we were back up the crazy steep path and finally I got myself something to eat. I'm super pleased because I was really hungry and I found some a very decent spot. I basically got like a little supposed to be like a burrito, but it's like a fajita and it just has vegetables and a little frijoles and guacamole and it's perfect. Even this food is a little much for me, but on the road I kind of eat not the best to be honest. Found a spot and it was quite easy. Let it flow easily. I like it alone because it's very... Free.
