We're making the comparisons, because if anybody's started this season brilliantly, it's Erling Haaland.
Erling, thanks so much for coming over to talk to us. Here would be perfect, thank you.
So, start with a win, start with a goal, it looks like the perfect start for you. How do you feel about it?
Yeah, three points and a perfect start.
How was the game for you? How did you find it, first game back in the Premier League, particularly after this summer when a lot of players have been away
and there are just a couple of players coming back to full Premier League fitness?
Yeah, first games are always hard. For everyone, it doesn't matter if you had a pre-season or you didn't have one.
I actually had a quite long pre-season, so that's good. I don't feel perfect, because I'm not in the perfect shape.
But yeah, it's good to start and to win.
Yeah, and good to get that opening goal. Daniel?
Yes, talk to me about the goal. The way the pass was played into you, you took it and you managed to sneak your way through.
I want you to tell me from your perspective how it felt in the moment.
I don't know if you remember last year, he had a great save on me, Sanchez, because he always stays a lot on the line.
So that's why I took a couple of extra touches and then he's rushing out and then I knew exactly what to do.
Cheeky dink?
Yeah, I think it was a really good goal.
So Erling, is that what's going through your head? You're thinking, I know what you did against me last season.
You didn't let me score that time. I'm not going to do that again. This time around, I will score against him.
I remember for the last year, it's been irritating me for a long time.
So that's why I took a couple of extra touches and then, yeah, it was a perfect goal.
How important as well, you've got that right arm out.
Kukurela tries to stop you and you just use your strength just to get some balance and then obviously the finish as well.
Just there, that strong right arm.
Yeah, and also with Colville as well, to get it past him. So yeah, it was a nice goal.
I mentioned when we were in the studio, the first touch was with the right, it was right-left, right-left combination.
And me as a left-footed attacker as well, when those balls are coming in on the right foot, it's like, make sure the first touch is right.
Make sure the first touch is right. Is that something you train on?
Because you're in the box a lot of the time and your first touch has to put you in the positions.
Yeah, and this is also what Pep says to us every day.
You know, the best players are the best on these, the easiest things, you know, as touching with your right and pass with your left.
So this is an important thing. And yeah, he says this to me a lot.
Can I ask you about your position tactically?
I know sometimes you're making a lot of runs and maybe from a defender's point of view, we don't look at it and say you've had a great game,
but you continually make them runs and just wait for that right moment.
How important is it that you keep doing that?
Yeah, I think in the end what I want to do is to help the team and to make the team work and to get the other players in better positions,
you know, to get an extra metre for Bernardo Silva, number 10.
And if I can stretch the centre-backs one metre, I will do it with a run.
And it's hard, but it's my job and that's why I'm doing it.
I have a question for you in terms of your personal development.
What is it that you want to improve on as a player this season?
You've scored so many goals already, so it's not goals.
I'm sure you want to score more, but what else would you want to add to your game?
You know, when you see today all the defenders, how good they play to the midfielders,
it looks like Pep will not like me for saying this, but they don't need me.
So I can just stand there and watch.
But no, of course, to get more involved, that's what Pep wants.
But in games like this, do I need to be more involved? I don't know.
You know, this is a million-dollar question, you know.
But, of course, I want to improve as an overall player, you know, with the ball.
I want to give more assists back to the players that give me assists.
So I want to become an overall better footballer, like a player,
not in terms of goals or anything, just a player.
We know you can do that already.
It looks like you can do it all already at the moment.
Erling, thank you so much for joining us.
Appreciate you coming out.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Greenwich, especially this game, will be played at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea.
As I said, this game will be played at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea, London.
And as for the offseason, for Chelsea, Rhys James will be back on the 2nd of September.
And as for Manchester City in the offseason, it's Bob and Roderick.
As for Bob, his return is expected to be on the 15th of December.
Roderick's return date is not yet known.
As for the coaches, of course, Chelsea's new coach is Mareska and City's Guardiola.
As for Manchester City, it's just the beginning.
Manchester City doesn't always start the season with defeats and losses.
But in the end, the competition for the title and the series of defeats begins.
As for Chelsea, it's the opposite of Manchester City.
Chelsea starts the season with a lot of points.
But in the end, in the middle of the season, it starts with a step-by-step return.
And this is the difference between a player with the title for several years and a defensive player.
Manchester City has a very big psychological factor.
And as for Guardiola, he works a lot on his psychological factor in his training.
And it's one of Guardiola's characteristics.
See you in another episode.
As for my expectations, I expect City to win with a clear goal.
See you in another episode. Goodbye.
