When you look at a map of Australia, there's a lot of red. I mean, a lot. You'd easily assume that
it's all a great big sandy desert with no signs of life. Flat redness that never ends until you hit
civilization on the coast. My perspective of this country changed with the most wild adventure
I've ever been on. And here's the game plan. We're flying from Perth through the outback
to a very special place on the other side of the country.
After a little prep, it was time to do the dang thing.
The first stop was to get fuel in a paddock where we met our new best friend.
As we traveled further away from the coast, I was expecting to see a lot more of the same thing.
Blue skies and red land. Not even for a second did I think there would be an art installation,
an assault flat, and even a couple thousand k's into the outback. You can still get yourself a
great burger. The further out we got, the more the landscape seemed to change. We went from
red mountains to green flats and back again. Now 200 kilometers from the center of Australia,
I was sure we'd hit emptiness. But again, Australia proved me wrong. Even in the middle
of nowhere, there's life. Before this trip, I really loved the outback. But after this wild
mission, I've learned there's so much more that I haven't even touched on yet. I'm out on the
station again and at the moment all the cows are coming in because it's taught out. So they're
coming into the yards for some water. I'm just trying to get a sticky beat without scaring them
off now. Based on the birds, I wonder if you can guess what part of Australia I'm in.
