Meal Replacement Smoothie

Today we're going to blend a meal replacement smoothie that I like to have for breakfast
because it's filling and nutritious. I've learned that if I start my day with this smoothie I crave
healthier foods throughout the entire day. Yet there's nothing fun about drinking a smoothie
for breakfast and then being hungry 10 minutes later. So today you're going to learn how to
turn any smoothie into a meal replacement with a few tips and tricks so that it tastes good,
nourishes your body, and it's going to keep you full until that next meal. So let's dive in.
To make this smoothie we're going to use one cup of baby kale. You can use regular kale too,
but I recommend taking the stems off so it's not super bitter. And that's one of the reasons most
people don't like kale in their green smoothies is because they leave the stems on it and it
gives it this nasty bitter taste. I like to save the stems for the compost pile or for the chickens,
not for my smoothies. All right, so we got one cup of baby kale. Now we're going to add
one cup of almond milk. Make sure to get unsweetened almond milk so that you're not
adding any extra sugar to your smoothie. We're going to use fruit to sweeten it naturally.
So we'll get into that now. Let's add our banana. Banana is one of my favorite natural sweeteners
because it also makes your smoothie really creamy. For this one we're just going to use
half a banana. So you just set it in there. And the next one is berries. We're going to do one
cup of berries. It can be any berry that you want. It can be blueberries, blackberries,
strawberries, raspberries. We're going to use blueberries which are frozen so it's going to
chill down the smoothie and make it cold. Everything we've done so far is pretty typical
in a smoothie recipe. What we're going to do now is turn it into a meal replacement. So we're going
to add our healthy fats and proteins and a little more calories so that it beefs it up and actually
keeps you full until that next meal. So you can do a couple of options here. One is you could do
two tablespoons of rolled oats. Literally you can put rolled oats right into your smoothie.
And I also like to pair that with one tablespoon of almond butter which has healthy fats and more
protein. But another option exists now and that is our new protein powder called Protein Smoothie
Boost. All you need is one scoop of this added to any of your smoothie recipes and it transforms
it from just a smoothie into a meal. So we're going to do that one for today. And there's no
sweeteners at all in this powder so no sugars, no monk fruit, no stevia because we're using the
banana as our natural sweetener and that is all you need. One scoop of that. That right there just
added 10 grams of protein and 4 grams of healthy fats. So easy. Okay put your lid on and then you
blend it all up. All right and there you have it. You have blended a meal replacement in just a few
minutes. So it's really the healthiest fast food out there is blending a green smoothie.
Oh yummy. I hope you enjoyed today's meal replacement smoothie video and if you did
