If you're anything like me, you probably find summer to be one of the trickiest seasons to
dress for. However, after living more than three years in the south of Spain, I've learned a thing
or two about staying cool and stylish during those hot summer days. And today, I've decided
to share with you my collection of summer wardrobe staples. So, let's dive right in.
First up, we have the classic linen shirt. This is a lightweight and versatile piece that you
can pair with almost anything in your wardrobe, from jeans to shorts to tailored trousers.
I have a couple of linen shirts in my collection and I find that the ones in neutral colors like
white, beige or light blue are the most versatile ones. However, I also love a striped linen shirt
for a touch of nautical vibes. I prefer my linen shirts to be long-sleeved, which might sound
counterintuitive, but I actually like the look of them with the sleeves rolled up. Plus, they offer
a little bit more protection from the sun. To be honest, I don't invest that much in these pieces
because they typically get stained with sunscreen. So, I usually get my linen shirts from affordable
places like Uniqlo or H&M and I've never had any issues with them. Moving on to bottoms, we have
linen and cotton linen blend pants. I love the look of linen pants for the summer and I find that
if you get them in a neutral color like white or beige or cream, you can pair them with almost any
top in your wardrobe. However, if you can't stand linen because it creases easily, I would suggest
to opt for pants made from a blend of cotton and linen and also try to choose a thicker fabric.
This will ensure that the pants maintain their structure and don't crease as easily while still
being breathable, making them ideal for both casual days and also for the office. And in case you're
curious, the pants I have shown here are both from Cezanne and they are the martin crop trousers.
I got them both on my usual size 36 european and I find that they fit true to size. In my opinion,
no summer wardrobe is complete without a pair of white jeans. Whether you're pairing them with a
tank top or shirt or sleeveless blouse, you can't really go wrong with this wardrobe staple. Plus,
you can wear them throughout the year, not only in summer. My favorites are the Levi's ribcage
straight jeans. I got mine in size 26 and length 29 but if I could choose again, I would probably
size down to a 25 because I find that they stretch quite a lot while you're wearing them.
For those days when the temperature rises, you can reach out for a pair of tailored shorts.
Look for ones with a clean tailored fit in a neutral color like these ones from Cezanne.
I prefer a high rise because it looks great with a blouse or a shirt tucked in but I would suggest
you to get the rise that you are more comfortable with. I find tailored shorts to be more versatile
than denim shorts because sometimes denim shorts can look too casual in my opinion,
whereas tailored shorts can be both dressed down and dressed up. For those days when you want to
keep it simple yet stylish, a linen dress is a must have. You can pair them with pretty much
anything from espadrilles to flat sandals for a more casual look. And opting for a breathable
fabric like linen or cotton allows you to stay cool during those hot summer days. I personally
prefer maxi or midi dresses but you can choose any length you're comfortable with. Just make sure to
choose one made from a breathable fabric like cotton or linen. Next, let's talk tank tops. I
always keep a few tank tops and sleeveless tops in my rotation for the summer months. They're
perfect for layering or wearing them on their own and you can mix and match them to create endless
outfits. I personally use tank tops like this one from Massimo Dutti for more casual occasions
and for the office I prefer sleeveless tops or blouses that are more elevated and look a little
bit more put together. Believe it or not, for me a lightweight knit made from cotton or linen is a
summer staple, especially for those cooler evenings or for overly air-conditioned offices. Personally,
I love striped knits like this one from Cezanne which is made from 100% organic cotton. I find
it gives a nautical vibe to my outfits plus it's very easy to pair with everything else in my
summer capsule wardrobe. And finally, let's talk about footwear. I have three go-to pairs for the
summer. Flat sandals are a must-have in my summer wardrobe. They are perfect for every day and for
running errands. Espadrilles add a touch of mediterranean flair to any outfit and can easily
transition from day to night. I personally love to pair them with midi or maxi dresses and the ones
that I'm showing you here are from the Spanish brand Castaner. And finally, for a more polished
look, I love my braided tan flats. These ones are from Cezanne and they are comfortable yet stylish
enough for the office. And there you have it. Those were my summer wardrobe staples that are
both practical and stylish. Let me know in the comments below which summer staple is your favorite
and how you like to style it. I hope you found these tips useful and don't forget to like and
