(Premier League 2024/2025): Highlights Crystal Palace - West Ham

Sellers Park stands to salute Crystal Palace returning home after their summer hiatus. A familiar atmosphere but one that never ceases to raise the hairs on the back of the neck. An opening day defeat at Bredford wasn't the start to the season Oliver Glasner's Eagles were looking for but they return home this afternoon for the first time this season. Lifted in towards Sochek there's the header and it's narrowly wired of the near pose Antonio was stretching. Closer to the byline it's eventually held forward Antonio wrestling with Chadi Riyad he's got the better of him no fouls there's Rob Jones ball from Beteta around the outside Esai bearing down on goal saved by Areola with the left boot. Wonderful first touch by Beteta inside the centre circle Edouard through on goal Edouard just wide. Quick counter attacking football from Crystal Palace almost unlocked West Ham's defence. Take the corner kick short to Wharton into the penalty area Esai shoots right off the crossbar. It would have been a glorious goal from Avera Eze. The very definition of wrapping his foot around the ball. Aaron Wan-Bissaka he's squeezing inside to Bowen, Bowen into the penalty area. Carrying it forward for West Ham United Bowen on the far side Riyad tries to get across Bowen into the penalty area onto his left and he's beaten. Ball into the penalty area Sarr could sort himself out he's off the outside of the post. From the new signing Areola tosses that over arm to the left hand side and that's all she wrote. The season opener that Stella Spark goes the way of defeat.
