Hi everyone! Welcome to Cook Stacey Cook. In today's video, I would like to show
you another shrimp recipe that you can finish in less than 20 minutes. It is very
simple to make and it's so appetizing and delicious. Let's get right to it.
We will start by finely mincing 4 cloves of garlic and prepare 4 slices of
ginger. Then take 2 green onions. Split the stem part in half lengthwise. Then
cut them into 1-inch sections. Now the shrimp. Rinse them with cold water and
then pat them dry with some paper towel. Then generously coat them with cornstarch.
Make sure you get them as dry as you can before you add the cornstarch. Try to get
all the shrimp completely coated with cornstarch. The cornstarch will give the
shrimp a crispy crust. The last thing we need to prepare is the sauce. Add ketchup,
soy sauce, dark soy sauce, salt, sugar and mix them together. Now we are ready to
cook. Add some oil to a hot pan over medium-high heat. We need enough oil to
coat the bottom of the pan. Then add the shrimp to the pan and pan-fry them until
golden and crispy. When the bottom is golden, flip them over to pan-fry the
other side. After both sides are golden, I actually flip them over to pan-fry both
sides again to make them more crispy. When both sides are golden and crispy, we
can remove the shrimp from the pan. Now lower the heat to medium and we can add
the ginger slice to the oil. Let the ginger sizzle in the oil briefly. Then we
can add the minced garlic. Turn the heat down to low now to prevent burning the
garlic. When the garlic is just about to turn golden, we can add the ketchup sauce.
Stir-fry the sauce in the pan briefly so all the flavors can come together. Then
add some rice wine to the sauce and mix them together. Rice wine is great for
cooking seafood because it gets rid of any unwanted fishiness and brings out
the sweetness of the seafood. After evenly mixing the sauce, we can add the
shrimp back to the pan. Also add the green onion at this time and quickly toss the
shrimp until they are evenly coated with the sauce and we are done. The garlic
ketchup shrimp smells so good and I can tell you it tastes even better. The
shrimp has a crispy crust and it's coated in this really tasty sauce. Bite
into it, you also taste the natural sweetness of the shrimp. This is really a
recipe worth trying. If you find today's video useful, please share it with your
friends and family. Let me know your thoughts about this recipe in the
comments. Thank you for watching and see you next time.
