Hello from the floor of my bedroom! So I'm in the midst of packing for a trip to Tokyo
and the reason why I'm going to Tokyo is to eat all of the vegan food. For those of you who don't
know me, hello my name is Amber. I live in Kyoto. Kyoto has amazing delicious food. That's for
another video. Today we are exploring Tokyo. So our first stop on the list was a vegan gyoza
place called Vegan Gyoza. It's a relatively new restaurant located in Taito City. They had a
cozy atmosphere and also served vegan beer. I really like the foam on the top. It feels like
a latte. What makes these gyoza unique besides the fact that they're all vegan is their rainbow
colored wrappers. These wrappers are dyed with all natural ingredients, no food coloring,
no chemicals, and the flavors are just amazing. Here is a peek at the menu.
Celery is actually good. Wow and yes it was so delicious that we decided to get a second plate.
So here is a sexy up-close of the gyoza. The next stop on our vegan food tour was really cool.
Kamida is is an all-vegan kisaten. If you don't know what a kisaten is, it's a Japanese style
coffee shop. It usually has a lot of good food along with coffee. This place had a really fun
atmosphere and each seat had its own tablet which is where the menu was so you can look through the
menu on the tablet and choose what you want. Honestly I think this menu was better than a
regular kisaten. They even had vegan whipped cream which you could get on the coffee which
I didn't get this time because it was a bit expensive but I definitely want to try it next
time. My friend got a vegan curry burger and I got a vegan egg sandwich which came with salad
and fries. Number three on the list is Shochiku and Cafe in Taito City. This was a small cafe
famous for its burgers and rainbow cake. Here's what it looked like on the inside. It was really
cute and cozy. Oh and this rainbow cake is what they are most famous for I think. They also had
a selection of vegan snacks and products like this tuna. So I got the haru burger which was
actually made of yuba or tofu skin so it's kind of supposed to be like a scrambled eggs type thing
and then my friend got the yuki burger with cheese which is recommended for its smoky flavor.
Next up on the list was not just vegan food but also an experience. You've probably heard of
team lab tokyo but did you know that they are in collaboration with yuzu ramen which is a
michelin starred ramen shop. Yes that's right michelin starred vegan ramen. Before we get to
the ramen here is what it was like inside the team lab exhibition. Number five on the list was
falafel brothers. This one was in shibuya but actually there are a lot of locations.
Not only did they have falafel but they also had pizza and dessert options as well. Here's
what it was like inside the cafe. As a new yorker I was very excited to have my first falafel
sandwich in almost two years and this one was a set. It came with lotus fries. I think you could
also get regular fries but I chose the lotus ones and some oolong tea. In that same building in the
basement there was a vegan izakaya. This one we just stumbled upon and we're super lucky.
So even though we were really full from our falafel we decided to come here for a second
dinner. I really liked the setup of this place that it was like a normal non-vegan traditional
izakaya with the menu and everything. Of course we had to get the gyoza because gyoza. Not the
healthiest of food but really delicious. Number seven on the list was bio cafe. We just stopped
in here quickly for dessert. Look at this tiramisu with whipped cream. They do have an extensive menu
with vegan and gluten-free options so I definitely want to check that out next time and they also
have bagels. Number eight on the list is T's Tan Tan. This one is located in Tokyo station and it
is an entirely vegan ramen restaurant. Here is a peek at the menu. I got the low calorie set because
it had yuzu broth which sounded really delicious and the set came with my favorite thing which you
know by now is gyoza. My friend got the goma or black sesame ramen that came with vegan cheese
balls. Anyway mine was delicious but I think the black sesame one was a little better so I recommend
that if you come here. Oh and they also have their own line of instant ramen that you can take home
with you. And number nine on the list is Mr Farmer. This is a vegan cafe that I went to years ago when
I first came to Japan and it was one of the only things on Happy Cow at the time. They've since
extended their menu to include vegan burgers, vegan desserts, and a few other vegan options as well.
I got the vegan taco wrap and my friend got the vegan loco moco and for dessert of course again I
got cheesecake. Can't resist vegan cheesecake. Coming in at number 10 was Newport in Shibuya.
This place wasn't vegan but they had a lot of vegan options that were clearly labeled on the
It had a really cool night vibe so a great place for a date night or girls night out. We got a kale
salad which was really awesome because it's actually kind of hard to find kale in Japan.
We also got this quiche which was so good this alone was worth coming here for. And of course
a vegan falafel plate because that seems to be the vegan option that's available a lot of times in
Japan. And coming in at number 11 is Two Foods in Shibuya. This one actually has a lot of locations
but this is the one we went to. Two Foods is marketed as healthy vegan junk food. I'm not sure
how healthy it actually was but it was definitely delicious. They had vegan omurice and vegan
cheesecake which is what I was after. They also had a very instagrammable collection of vegan
donuts. This was actually probably my favorite place on the list. I got these cold spicy noodles
which were good but not as good as the vegan junk burger. I mean look at this thing. And then it was
the moment of truth. My vegan cheesecake arrived and I also got a blue donut of course.
And coming in at number 12 the last place on the list is Chaya Macrobiotic. This place wasn't
totally vegan but they did have a lot of good vegan options and a really cozy atmosphere.
Here's a quick peek at their menu. They even had vegan fruit sandwiches which is something I really
want to try next time I come. They also gave us free samples of their homemade oat milk. I got a
salad as an appetizer that came with a cracker with hummus which was really good. We actually
ordered way too much food but but it was okay. We got these fries, this croquette which was very good
and vegan sushi which is surprisingly hard to find in Japan. Oh and this vegan karaage was
banging. Definitely recommend this if you come here. While I was waiting for my tea I decided
to look around the shop and they had so many cool vegan and macrobiotic products that you could take
home with you. Anyway that's all for today. Thank you guys so much for watching. I hope this helps
you if you do go to Tokyo and are looking for vegan restaurants. Even if you're not vegan these
places were all so good and definitely worth checking out. If you have any vegan recommendations
in Japan of your own please leave them down in the comments below. I'd love to check them out and if
you've enjoyed this video please like and subscribe as it really helps my channel and
keeps me making videos. So yeah thanks again and I will see you next time. Bye bye!
