We are Obanda Amanya and we are here in Batucada
of an association called Oba Cercle de Tambour.
We are located in Lani in India,
so we come to the neighborhood of this event,
on the green, on the Olympic site.
And we have to, for the course of a few minutes,
make a set, Batucada, Bateria,
it's Brazilian percussion.
Historical music is really mixed music.
In Brazil, of course, we speak with the drums,
we speak with the rhythms,
but what is essential is to consider
what each community has been able to bring
in their orchestration.
So every instrument you see here,
it reflects a bit of history,
a bit of the history of Brazil
and what it can also, of course, condition.
We have African contributions on the rhythm,
we have contributions on the Amerindian,
which must not be forgotten.
And European too.
What we call the Caixa, the Sordo.
The Gogo there, for once,
clearly the Gogo,
this is what we will find again in Africa,
in the West, particularly in the Gulf of Guinea.
Nigeria, we can find that too,
Gogo, Benin and Ghana.
All this formula has been translated,
it has traveled, it has crossed the Atlantic,
because history is complex.
History, of course, contains important elements
and the music of the drums lives all that.
We have a motto in our association,
each instrument has a name,
each instrument has a story
and each rhythm has a meaning.
So it allows us to travel through percussions,
through orchestrations,
with humility, with respect.
And here we are, we are passionate,
we are a great team, especially in Ghana.
A little hello.
We are passionate, we are passionate.
