And we go, it's go, go, go, go time.
Here we go.
It's a big kick point,
Codger Dristbeck was a little short sparrow
with that explosive kick of his,
gets himself into the lead at the moment.
The German rider in number one,
through with a good start on the left-hand side.
Koresky with him as well.
And it looks to me like they hold
for just about making it around in one piece.
So here we go onto the climb
and being made by the rider with the number two plate.
That is Victor Koresky of France
are moving up on the shoulder there.
They're all in attention.
Nobody wants to lose any kind of ground at the moment.
Peacock comes through.
He's currently sitting a little bit further back.
Looks like to be about 20th position at the moment
because they're packing them in at the front here,
but they're going to thin down.
We're going in to the woods.
So in and through the line,
the first four kilometer lap done.
Schwarzbauer's time, 11 minutes 40 seconds.
Seven riders in that leading group separated by six seconds.
We're looking down on our leading group
to the top left-hand side of your screen.
The chasers behind are coming.
I think we're going to see Peacock moving his way up
into ninth position at the moment.
The gas run fluking it to Peacock.
Three seconds to go through that gap.
The moves being made behind the race leaders.
That leading group still pretty much together.
And this leading group just eking out a little bit more
of a gap as they come through this woodland.
Victor Koresky of France setting the pace,
setting the tempo, really is the man
who has picked up the baton
and he's really setting the pace of the race.
And then you can see Schwarzbauer
now being chased down here.
You've got Peacock, you've got Azzaro there.
You've got Saru chasing the two Frenchmen on the wheel
of the rider from Great Britain,
chasing the German rider at the front.
Charlie Aldridge of Great Britain on the front
after that descent rolling down and through.
The four riders have opened a gap.
Are they going to push at this advantage home?
We're on lap three of six.
Tom Peacock just has made that gap to Luca Bredo
and he's definitely getting on the back of this group.
I'm just wondering if someone like,
Charlie's looking around as if he's wanting someone else
to take the lead here.
Because if they start to sit up too much,
they are going to get caught by those guys behind.
But definitely a little bit of looking at each other now
to see who's going to take on the front
for the rest of this lap.
Well, Peacock says, well, look, you know,
if you lot are going to chat,
time for me to go to the front.
I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth there.
Straight over the top he goes.
And you can see everybody's struggling.
Hathaway moves up on the left hand side,
though he wants to take back some kind of control.
These guys are both really pushing the pace.
A big look back there.
Hathaway gets out there, suddenly looks back.
He sees who's behind him.
He instantly stamps on those pedals,
kicks the bottom out of the bucket
at the bottom of the pedal stroke each and every time
as he wants to continue to push and to break clear.
Our next bit coming up at 18.8k.
The time gap is going to be really, really telling.
Aldridge goes through that time split losing two seconds.
He's at nine seconds.
So he's lost a couple of seconds.
Peacock's lost a second or so on the race leaders.
That push continues from Hadley, from Koreski,
continuing to open the gap.
They're going to make their way up through the grass
here in Andorra as the bell rings.
It's one more lap to go.
The two riders behind,
I think they are going to be focused
solely on heading out here.
And Peacock, having made contact with Aldridge,
goes over the top and it looks like the gap
has opened between Peacock and Aldridge.
At the moment, it has.
Peacock's got them in his sights.
Surely he's not going to close them down
with loads of time left.
We thought he was going to struggle to get there at all.
Here he is on the climb.
Peacock could close that gap down to 14 seconds.
He was coming right the way down last time we saw at 13.
What's it going to be as he comes down in through?
13 seconds it was.
It's back out to 16.
It's Yo-Yoed again.
That move by Koreski.
The battle at the front is still stretching it out.
Koreski has to ride the bike down this descent.
Yeah, this is a definite attack.
I think it's going to be a lot to us.
This has been now on to that final time up
this long piece climb,
and it's going to be an all-out effort
from all of these guys.
Koreski out of the saddle last time up here.
He's following Hadley's out of the saddle.
He kicks on hard.
Hadley throws the bike side to side here.
And now Hadley goes over the top of Koreski.
Anything you can do, I can do better.
He's come to the front and he's smiling.
He goes over the top.
Has Koreski got anything left?
That was a move there by Hadley to go up and round.
Koreski just sits down.
He can't stay out of the saddle.
Hadley kicks out of the saddle.
Koreski responds.
We're going to have to see
whether he has to come over the climb.
Is this the race winning move by Alan Hadley?
Can Koreski come back?
What an effort.
What a gap he's got there.
You can see it looks like Viktor Koreski,
that body language to me
already looks like his head's dropped a little bit.
This isn't just, Hadley is now going to have to attack
this steep climb.
And this is going to be really hard
for Koreski to come back from.
Has Hadley gone too early?
It's looking very decisive at the moment.
No, I think he looks good.
You don't appreciate how hard it is to descend
when you've just put that heroic effort in
and you have gone absolutely everything
you've got in your legs.
Hadley goes through that gap.
That isn't a wedge he's driven in there.
I don't know anything there, but it's huge.
He's just exploded that gap.
Surely he's all over now for Koreski.
Into the final turn he comes.
The gold medalist, the winner in the under-23s in 2018
makes it a win here in the Elite Cross-Country Championship.
Alan Hadley, the world champion for 2024.
Viktor Koreski, the silver medalist in second.
It's Tom Pidcock of the Olympic gold medalists.
He takes away the place, a complete reversal
of the three best riders in the world at the moment
through the line.
