Hi and welcome to Railbirds and we've got more action from the 2024 Derby City Classic
nine ball. Our next match is a round one clash between Conrad Juzicin and Rob Hart. Now I'm
going to tell you a little bit about Rob Hart when we get underway. Guy's just lagging. It's a race
to nine. Winner options break. Three ball rule. No jump cues allowed but you are allowed to jump
with your full playing cue. Not your break cue just your playing cue. Conrad Juzicin from Poland
a hotbed of Paul. Some great players have come out of Poland over the years and right now probably
one of the strongest nations in the world. They could probably build a Moscone Cup team
just between themselves. I'm Mark White to have you with us. So Conrad breaking off
media break from the box. It's not the matchroom box it is though the DCC box the Derby City
Classic box. The first third diamonds so nice long straight in two ball. Kind of a signature
shot for Conrad. Really nice guy. Travels to most of the events. The Polish players do get
some help from their government. The sports duration is just a little bit short on this
six ball but near room to come back past the nine. He's left this just a little bit
funny. I didn't expect to get it of course. Just having to do a little bit more work with a cue
ball back and forth. Lost his chalk for a second there. So Rob Hart not given too much chance just
one percent. Does play a few events himself as well. He loves his Paul and this video is brought
to you in cooperation with the Bad Boys. Thank you guys. Now Rob Hart he's the brother of Kevin
Hart. The actor really does love his Paul. Good if we could get Kevin to come along and
maybe do a bit of halftime entertainment between racks entertainment. Tellers of jokes. Funny man.
Rack number two then keen to make the one ball. Nearly made cue ball as well. Now then look at
this. A shot on the two ball once again. Now does the three ball pass the seven. He's having a good
look at it. Does it will make life a lot easier. Can just stunt down off the right hand side rail.
Doesn't to try and get back to the left hand side of the table. I think he's okay. Just a little
stunt. He has that to come across. Well he's played that beautifully hasn't he. Look at that for a shot.
The Outsville Rack. He could just drop to the seven here. The draw passed it as well though.
Drew into the six instead. Now this does pass to the top left hand corner. To do with a cue ball.
Slide it in long route. Brand new cloth on these tables. This is the first round.
So hasn't had too much play on it. So the pockets will play a bit bigger.
And this is a really good positive start from Conrad. Rob Hart has made one mistake so far.
And that was the lag. Straight cue in. Oh we're not sure how Kevin Hart is. Sorry Rob Hart is
playing at the moment. Can't get a shot. Now there is a unique rule in the Derby City Classic.
Well there's a few. But one of them is if Conrad were to run nine racks here. There's a rule that
states Rob Hart will have chance to do the same. Whether that's ever happened. Somebody did tell
me it's happened once before. Somebody ran nine out. Pretty sure there's never been two players run
nine out. It's not going to happen because it's a dry break. Rob might have been asleep in that
chair. He looked a bit comfortable over there. Now can he kind of kiss off this one and carrom
the three in. Doesn't have to play that of course. Can come up with some safety but it
looks pretty difficult. Right eye dominant as you see there. Right eye over the cue.
He won't mind if this one drops as well. Well I beg your pardon. Six was in the way wasn't it?
Might have been on the two ball for a second. Now he can bank this. Cut it in. He's looking at the
angle there. Committing it to memory. Shot has a very long pause doesn't he? So he's already
made the three. He carromed it one. So just a draw stun off the side rail. The purple four.
Cue came up in the air a little bit there. Not going to be able to miss too many of those.
Back to the centre of the table ish. Doesn't look like missing does he? Straight away got the speed
of the table into an art. So this straightforward nine for three in a row. Thanks to our stream
sponsors. Hustling USA guys. John Barton added me as a friend on Facebook yesterday for some reason.
Jerry Olivier cues. Makes a lovely cue does Jerry. Bittman lights of course. A business of
on a few smaller events. But he is the reigning Puerto Rico Open champion.
The Predator Pro Billiard Series. He's actually not a bad snooker player as well.
He's a 2021 Polish amateur snooker champion. Loves a bit of straight pull as well.
Won the Championships of America 2017. We're missing a cue ball. Rob's found it.
Fair to say Rob is more of a recreational player. Plays just for fun. Loves coming to
some of these big tournaments. Always plays in the U.S. Open. Now that was a nice shot.
Held it very well. Really nice slow long backswing. Pause. Nice follow through.
So the guy's not just a bum player. He knows how to play the game.
Got some pretty good technique. Oh he's overdone that. Just trying to steer the cue ball
around the back of the seven. Kind of just forgot to putt the six there. So a bit of a gift
for Konrad. To that scratch. First rounds can be a little bit tricky. I'm getting used to the
new equipment. New balls. New cloth. But it is 4-0. Gives us a moment to thank our main event
sponsors Diamond Billiard Products. Put in over 30 tables here. The Derby City.
Simonas, synonymous with quality, have provided the cloths. Aramith balls. There's no one better
in the business. A hundred years of producing quality billiard balls, snooker balls,
carom balls, you name it. They've got the balls for you. Outsville Accurac Accustats. Thank you
guys. Matt Fleming. Good guys. Masters Billiard Chalk. Been around years. I used to use their
green triangle chalk on a snooker table when I was a youngster. Back to the 2021
Amateur Snook Champion of Poland position. Breaking off. Going very close again
to the corner pocket this time. Now he's made the one and the two. A couple things I've got to say
guys. Balls are racked. Nine is on the spot. Two can be racked anywhere but at the back.
So this could be another quick rack. Stun up. Between the eight and the six. Nicely on the five.
Draw the six in the side. Tremendous break once again. There's a rail now. Might see a rack without
using a rail. Reminds me of a story snooker coach Alan Bell told me the other day. Used to be Jimmy
White's coach. Everyone knows Jimmy White of course. Played a few times in Moscone Europe.
Great snooker player. Six-time world championship finalist. Never actually made world champion
but came close on six occasions. Jimmy actually made a hundred break without using the rail
on a snooker table. Imagine that. Incredible feat. Funny the stories that come to mind isn't it?
When you're watching a rack of pool. Things are getting hot in here. There was a song about that wasn't there?
It's getting hot in here so take off all your clothes. Please don't do that Conrad.
You see so the one will go at the front for any who that might have just stumbled across this
nine ball format the first time. Welcome guys. One at the front. Nine on the spot.
Well he has put two at the back but two's not allowed to go at the back. I wonder if he'll
notice. No. It's always the rule. Years wasn't it where the two ball had to go at the back
but it was changed a few years back. Derby City it's not allowed to be racked at the back but
I won't say if you don't. Well made a ball and he does have this
Yellow one. Go twice across or just once. He's held that well. I didn't think he could hold it.
Lovely angle. Two in the side. Cable down the red three. Take the numbers in sequence. Yellow one
two. Red three. Purple four. Orange five. Green six. Brown seven. Black eight.
Yellow and white nine ball. That's the order. Obviously like six zero two thirds of the way to
the nine and if Rob should go out this first round it's not well not traditional double elimination
is a buy back clause you can pay a hundred dollars buy yourself back in once
slightly wrong side this six maybe just draw a short side on the seven to the same pocket
would have liked just a little bit more might go three rounds here now with a cue ball
right short route as you're looking at just drawing across one route and playing
the cue ball over on that top rail yeah I don't know what's happening there
pretty short didn't play it like that just a safety I say just a safety
no hand up so guessing he played it all of a sudden it's six zero yeah didn't offer the hand
in apology so the director seems to like this shot so we're gonna get it for a third time
there you go it's broken well hasn't he the whole thin cut down the rail loved a little flick off
nine there just to hold the cue ball away from the rail so a real tester for the left-hander here
past the test with flying colors nothing but on a similar line it's on now the six play the six
seven six ball gonna head towards the left-hand corner pocket oh he's overhit this he's overhit
this so a glimmer of light for Rob Hart and it's a chance seems a pretty cool customer
dramas just struts around the table better doing something he loved and he played that
really nicely a lot of right hand spin on the cue ball there to tease the cue ball over to the right
hand side of the table nicely done the dexterous as well that left-handed and he gets a wreck on
the board six one it is well if you're enjoying this guys there's always lots to watch on rail
birds tv we'd love you if you like it to just click the like button be very nice of you
while you're at it just subscribe and then if you hit the notification bell
every time we put something new up you'll be the first to know thank you so much taking the time
balls are racked so a chance to have a look at Rob Hart break yeah that's clever what he's
done there he's played actually the matrim break box there you see the way he pointed from the
first diamond to the the one ball that's the line where it crosses the kitchen line it's where the
break box normally is now we've got a lovely little graphic to show the matrim break boxes
just an interesting little diagram there it is look drawn from the first and third diamonds to
the center pyramid spot and then where those lines cross the kitchen line that's where the
box is formed there you go not just entertainment it's education as well John Lehman showed me that
at the USO in 2022 he let me into the matrim arena and showed me how they do it
John Lehman who's been a little bit ill recently sending out our good wishes to John
he just hasn't been the same since Kelly Fisher cut his ponytail off
a bit like Samson lost all his strength when his hair got cut so this three does go
the top right as we look on your screens little nudge into the four ball maybe nudging it towards
the side pocket well lucky got the cannon wrong the four ball just got into the cue ball a little
bit too much needed to play a bit more center dragged it the underside of the four which he
didn't want to do you had to be careful there now look at the way that ball drifted then did you see
that wow that four ball drifted slightly tables just settling in just keep your eye on that four
ball which we've just installed a couple of days ago so they will be settling in table mechanics
we'll keep an eye on things like that and just go and do a few little tweaks let's have another
look at this four ball keep your eye on the four ball watch now look just tends to go to the left
slightly to the side route right hand spin it's not grabbing as it will like it after a few days
played that really nicely sweet cueing from Mr Hart wonder if his brother watches in play
I'm sure Rob watches all Kevin's comedy shows and movies little eight ball here
Rob six two now the stats are on one percent Rob at the start they're still on one percent
it's one two racks though maybe they'll give him just a a few more percentage wouldn't you
don't get to mark it up Rob sliding the beads along kind of like a a giant abacus big ping pong
balls on it that's their scoreboard I never could work them out just never had enough practice on
them barely run up rarely won a rack one ball going close it might go closer to the corner
well just look at the eight and the four ball a real mess over there
overrun the cue ball slightly does this go between the nine and the five I think it might
but how does he get to three looking for a real precision position here for musician
he tries saying that precision position musician he needs a rail he needs a rail
it's not going to reach it's going to be ball in hand another ball must hit the rail
a ball no matter which one it is a ball must hit the rail after you've hit the ball on now
he's got a nice can give himself a nice angle here just a bit more than that Rob
seems pretty good now draw with left so close just wanted to flick
the eight ball out the way now can he send the four ball around the angles
and hold the cue ball behind the eight might get a double kiss could play cross side bank
a little bit unfortunate not to flick the eight away when he played the three just left himself
maybe a little bit too much angle on the ball in hand no heroics there and now can just draw
between nine and the six side rail just drop this six ball into the side himself the angle
going over towards the eight display a soft draw here he's overdone this by some distance
take it in the side i don't know what it is with left-handers but they always seem to be
quicker players creative i am the exception to that rule though so Conrad well on his way
to the second round Rob a rat closer to dipping into his pocket Conrad has also won a Eurotour
2019 the Treviso Open in Italy notoriously difficult tournaments to win the Eurotours
always over 200 players in them very high standard he's also European
nine ball champion as well in 2018 so the man has been around mainly on the European stage
Puerto Rico Open last year i was there commentating on it i think he's dropping this in the side
floating down seven he's gone corner another chance for Rob Hart then i think it does pass
the nine into the same pocket the seven so needs low right on the cue ball kind of drag it in
the cue ball moving left as we look ASAP take a risk and play into the nine
could come back down the same side with some inside and play the seven into the bottom left
it's not too bad should miss the eight ball with the cue ball let's go into it it'd be unlucky
not this with a shot on it could miss it nicely judged so this eight and nine then
to pull it back to 7-3 Conrad's position still not on the hill
very nicely done took the six seven eight nine very very nicely indeed
i want to thank those bad boys once again this video is brought in to you in cooperation with
those guys there look one on the right looks a bit like an alien doesn't he
the one on the left way cooler Conrad won't be worried just yet does need to
keep his focus Rob can win this one breaking to go seven five it's all of a sudden maybe put a
little bit of pressure on Conrad but at the moment break just not working is it for Rob
just working out a route two ball a bit tricky he's looking playing short side
on this two ball he's trying to come around the back of it to play into the top right same
pocket he played the one ball in i think playing a carrom here he's missed it another chance then
for Rob Hart things starting to go wrong in Conrad's game he'll be disappointed ball in hand
that he didn't run a few more balls there the rest for this one Mr Hart just flip over to left-handed
he noticed that he plays with a glove on each hand i don't know any other player that does that
maybe it's because he does play a lot of shots with both hands i wonder if he's got a bridge
head with a glove on it as well it'd be something wouldn't it surprise the cue but doesn't slip out
of his hand you know wearing a glove on the right hand as well he's played that nicely lovely
friendly flick off the six can run the cue ball now go between the six and the seven that would
be a shot wouldn't it look at this for a shot he certainly can very nicely done this four ball
this little flick off the six we all need a little bit of fortune now and again this is an impressive
run out three rails bottom route side route top route across the face of the nine this looks just
about perfect doesn't it look at this for a run out he's showing a lot of heart pardon the pun
maybe just ran for a five inches too far just made him think twice about this nine still expecting
to make it i missed one of these the other night to get into the money in a tournament
exactly the same as this i hit it thick he's hit it thin i hit it thick and left it in the jaws
so finally musician does arrive at the hill
rubble be a little bit disappointed there could so easily have been seven four with him breaking
does have a very thin cut on this cue ball twice across wants it to hold up doesn't want it on the
rail it's okay and dig down here come past the eight ball he's overheat this by quite some
distance still expected to take it on though into this bottom right hand corner just waiting
for the guy on the next table can't quite see who that is he's in disguise what a shot that is
he'd love to finish it here as well rob's shown us that he can play the game he's given enough
chances conrad has given him a few should be all over now straightforward eight and nine
conrad will be in round two par will be in his wallet to pull out a benji so in it goes the
handshake will come well done guys very entertaining match thank you so much for watching this has been
and i'll see you on the other side for another one see ya
