Ebden/Purcell v Roger-Vasselin/Herbert Highlights | Australia v France Davis Cup Finals Group Stage

Oh, well, Mahou famously got hit a couple of times on the doubles court and these two haven't played together since 2012. That's not going to strengthen the partnership. Oh, it's simply sensational from Ebton. The reactive skills initially and then the deft touch on the stretch. Silky from Ebton, killing it dead at the net. Oh, that's some pass. Once again, Herbert spotting the gap. find first serves and if you miss a first serve right now to Herbert then you're in trouble. Oh, it's an outrageous ball. Thought the ball was past him but somehow flicks it down the middle. Oh, it's immaculate. Off the back foot. A special lob from Max Purcell. The French break. Now it's advantage Le Bleu. What a set of tennis from the French duo. They did it off the back foot with a lob a few games ago. This time it's an arrow up the line. Too big and when you consider it was just the one break in set one, just the one break in set two. Could that be the crucial break in set three? That's top tier doubles all round. Will Australia want to get it done right now and not have the pressure of serving it out? It's a hat trick of Davis Cup Finals victories for Australia over France. In 2022 it was a 2-1 win. In 2023 it was a 2-1 win and they've done it again in 2024 as Purcell and Evton secure the tie in dramatic circumstances. It was a roller coaster ride but Australia come through. They win this match 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 to win the tie 2-1 and become the first nation to secure victory in Group B.
