Hi guys, I'm Jimbo and this is my second start bike, my 2017 Ducati Monster 821.
I've had four or five bikes since 2015 and each one of them have been shed built by myself
and although they are decent enough for me, on a daily basis I need something more reliable,
hence why I bought a Ducati Monster.
It was a toss-up between this and a Harley-Davidson, which is a 48.
To be honest, the Harley was good, but it just didn't give me that oomph that I wanted.
Dutch actually suggested that I try a Ducati and I did, went to the dealership, the guy
said do me a favour, take it out for a few hours, leave it in sport mode, I took it out
and I came back and just threw cash at him and said there you go, take my money.
The next thing you know, it arrives at my door, or actually it didn't arrive at my door,
I went to pick it up, anyway.
It's not the most customised bike that I've got, obviously the XS650 is super customised,
it's chopped in half, it's re-welded, etc, etc.
This one is not like that, it's only the smaller mods that I've done.
The thing that sets this bike apart for me is the performance, it's 115-ish brake horsepower,
it goes around a corner and it likes to pop a wheelie now and again.
So first off, let me just apologise for the state of the bike, I've been riding it every
single day, regardless of what the weather's like, so this is pretty much how it is, I've
not washed it so, sorry.
So first off is the custom wrap, we've had three layer wrap put on, the tank is actually
in two parts, so it's done left to right, and then also again on top of that you've
got the second part of the wrap and then the third part of the wrap as well.
So that's the front fender, the tank and the rear cowl.
While we're here at the rear, you've got the NewRage Cycles tail tidy, that is to replace
the witch's finger that used to be on there, let me just switch it on.
And that also is replicated on the front, we've got a NewRage Cycles front indicator
as well, again it just adds to the sleekness and the bike flows a lot better.
And that guys is pretty much it, we get asked on a daily basis what we ride, on a daily
basis and this is exactly it, it's just plain and simple, for me it's just reliable and
that's kind of all that matters.
Also let's take it outside and see how she sounds.
So this bike is still running a stock exhaust, I did have a SC project on there which was
super loud but unfortunately because I didn't do anything with the ECU, it just caused issues
within the fuelling.
I am looking at getting a Competition Works from the USA, they've got an 821 on the dyno
at the moment and once they've finished dynoing it, they're going to bring out an exhaust
and once they do, I'll be putting it on here and giving you another little flash.
So let's switch it on and see what it sounds like.
Nothing?
No?
Thanks Google.
