Hey guys, Lucas here from Adventure Surf Plus, and today we're going to talk about this weird
vest I'm wearing.
All right, so what I got on right now is a U.S. Army air crew vest.
This is going to be worn by helicopter pilots, crew chiefs in the back helicopters, all those
guys running around in open areas that are up in the air that they need a vest that kind
of supports them for doing that.
So essentially what this is, is a FLC, so the Flix Fighting Load Carriers, that's made
to be also load bearing.
So not in the sense of load bearing in gear, but load bearing in your person.
So we'll show that off here in a minute, but we'll go over from front, back, and then kind
of what's going on down my legs.
So the front kind of looks like a Flix, you know, it's got MOLLE right here, you got your
kind of standard shoulder straps coming up and everything like that, so you can put plenty
of pouches on here.
This is fire resistant as well, because you're in an aircraft, and it's kind of an important
thing if something happens.
So you know, from there, put on your pouches, and then you got pockets underneath right
here.
So you got a zippered pocket right there, and you got another zippered pocket right
here.
So you got plenty of stuff when there's actually being in use, from like, you know, in the
U.S. Army for air crew purposes, there's inserts that go in here, ones for first aid, ones
for survival, so they have space to keep that stuff nice and flat.
From there, I don't want you to worry about that, unzip it, and you get buckled in.
This is going into the part of the load bearing purposes of it, so it can support the person
wearing it in case of emergency, or if they, so you don't fall out of the aircraft.
You got some straps right here, and then you got buckles right here that are adjustable.
These are nice, like cobra buckles, so they're easy to clip on, but they're going to support
a good load.
Going from there, talk about the back.
So as you can see on the back, you got some more molly, you got a good grab handle, and
areas to kind of clip in when you're in the aircraft open area.
And then going down to the waist, you can see how this comes down and around, and that's
just again, that's a safety harness built into this whole vest.
So at the end of the day, this is a good tactical vest that's also load bearing, so you can
use it as, if you're searching rescue, you might have something similar, not 100% sure,
but you can carry all the pouches and gear you need for that purpose, and still be secure
in a helicopter or a rappelling environment, all that kind of stuff, and be safe and good
to go.
So if you're going to get this to do any sort of load bearing stuff, I'd recommend you get
this fully inspected by somebody that knows what they're doing, while we inspect this
for cuts, frays, and everything like that we can, we don't know how to inspect it for
that kind of safety purpose.
So if you're going to use this legitimately, inspect it thoroughly before you even get
on a rope.
Other than that, it's a pretty good vest, definitely can use it for a lot of stuff,
it's got that added benefit of load bearing, and it also got all the pouches for it, and
the pouches for aircrew vests are multi-purpose, so you can get this, a bunch of multi-purpose
pouches on here, and your fire's just safe, good to go, and everything like that.
So make sure you go to venturesurface.com, pick one up, and make sure to sign up for
emails so you can see everything we've got.
