He did run through a field of burs, so they chose to shave him to get them all off of him. Kona is a great boy, and I hope he finds a good home soon! You're not our dog.
Alright you guys, we're doing another transport for Harry Houdini Husky Rescue.
And this little guy is Kona.
Kona, you should look this way.
Kona was at a house with a couple of other Huskies.
They're trying to find homes for all of them.
Kona is currently going to a foster home downstate.
If you can't tell, he is shaved.
Kona is a typical Husky.
He's an escape artist.
Apparently, he got out.
He decided to go running through the fields.
He got full of burrs.
They couldn't cut all the burrs out of his fur.
They ended up having to shave him.
Did they have to shave you?
They had to shave your beautiful fur.
Yeah, they did, didn't they?
They ended up shaving him.
His fur is slowly starting to grow back.
Slowly.
Kona is going to go down to a foster home.
Eventually, as with all the dogs we help with Harry Houdini Husky Rescue,
Kona will eventually be going up for adoption.
If you guys are interested in adopting Kona,
you can check out Harry Houdini's website.
You can fill out an application.
I'm pretty sure Kona has mostly been an outside dog.
You can even tell by how coarse his fur is.
I don't really think he's been inside much.
I'm pretty sure he's lived most of his life in a kennel.
He does know how to sit.
He does know how to...
We got him to sit and lay down.
Woo! We're turning!
Hold on!
Hold on! We're turning!
He does know a couple of tricks.
He pulls kind of hard on the leash,
but he does walk on the leash pretty good.
Which is nice.
You know, sometimes dogs that live outside a lot,
don't have as much interaction.
A lot of times, they don't know how to do those things.
It makes me sad that you're looking behind you.
It's like you're looking for us to go back.
That makes me sad, Kona.
That makes me sad.
You should look this way.
Hi! How are ya?
He's like, no, I'll go this way you guys.
Hi!
Jamie and I are helping transport Kona to his foster home.
If you guys want,
there will be links down in the video description
for Harry Houdini Husky Rescue
where you can fill out an application
to adopt a Husky.
You can also donate to Harry Houdini
as they are a rescue.
Sometimes they get dogs that need extra medical care
and they do need funding just like
all other shelters and rescues.
There will be links down there for you guys.
I'll put their Facebook page and stuff down there
so you can go like their Facebook page
and you can follow Kona's story.
The last two rescues we did were Snowflake
and Spike.
I believe Snowflake is already available for adoption.
She may have already been adopted into a new home.
I'm not too sure about Spike.
I have a feeling that Kona will be
available pretty quick.
He seemed like a pretty good dog when I came
and did an evaluation on him.
It might be hard to transition him
to being a house dog but
Huskies are smart. They learn pretty quick.
I have a feeling that with a little bit of work
a little bit of love and a little bit of care
he'll be able to transition.
I think he's in an outdoor enclosure
that's cement
so it wouldn't be digging
wouldn't be his thing.
I don't think he's
huge that
he'll give you too many problems.
Are you sitting on your back to me?
Are you going to do upside down Kona?
Hi beautiful!
Alright you guys
as I said all the links are
down in the video description.
We are going to continue on our two hour drive south
to drop Kona off with his
I guess it wouldn't be the foster family
it's the next transport
they're going to transport him the next two hours
to his foster family.
Alright buddy?
Giving up a dog is never easy
it's never something somebody wants to do
but in this case it was the best thing to do
in their situation
and at least they're doing it right
and they're giving him to a breed specific rescue
somebody that knows about the breed
that will be able to find him a home
with somebody that knows about
how crazy Huskies can be.
Alright you guys, thanks for watching
thanks for subscribing, stay positive, dream big
and we'll see you soon!
Can you say bye Kona?
Say bye!
