This is a giant. Give it some profile Harry, come on. You see how blunted it is?
Because we've just hit so many things. Bulletproof glass.
It's a very big stump. It's not stopping!
I like it when it bounced on the foam gym mats.
For a bit of scale, regular dart. Oh I love that stuff. Good scale.
But we wanted to go bigger, so in 2019 the project called Mega Giant Dart took place.
What a stack of buckets.
Boys, I didn't mind. I think it was good. It was good, but it wasn't mega.
So this year we're putting the mega in the Mega Giant Dart.
I like that. Oh yeah mate! Holy doly!
Look at that thing. It's actually a dart.
Look at the girth. It's a worthy comparison.
The fabrication. Dean's on again. There he is.
There he is Dean. Get in here Dean. Well done.
I basically got a dart from home. Just took a good look at it.
I wish I could just have a good look at things and then build it all solid.
These are laser cut rings. That's an aesthetic touch.
Yeah, beautiful. Try and keep the weight down from the tail.
Keep the weight down, hey Dean. How'd that go?
The original plan was to film this at the tower.
The winch has a limit of 500 kilos. Did you know that?
No. The elephant in the room is the crane has rocked up.
And what's the approximate weight? 570 kilograms.
So we're at a farm with a crane. For everyone who comments go back to the tower.
You're going to need to hit it up in this video too because we're still not back there.
Maybe next video. There's a little part of Scott
who's a little bit fearful this thing's going into the earth and I don't know
if we're getting that back out. Well I'm more nervous that when it lifts
it up there's also going to be a car still attached to it.
Incoming crane. You know how we're going back down memory
lane today in many ways? Yes.
We've also just got an old school line it up.
Rexy at this end and many things for many reasons going that way.
Here it goes.
The PT Cruiser what a relic. This was actually in our very first video
ever on the channel 15 years ago. This thing has many problems so it's got to go.
It doesn't reverse. Crane is at full height and gee she's up there.
Seems higher than normal. The big boy is airborne.
What's it made of? Is that 508?
It's 1040. 1040.
We don't have a name. Don't tell me we're gonna rock an old
school contest. Get in the comment section come up with
your best name for the dart and the one that we like
Gaunson. We're gonna pin it. He couldn't do it.
Three, two, one. He's on the chopping block first isn't
he? Yeah he's in a bit of trouble. He could be.
I mean this is literally his job. Mate if this is your last day.
There's a slight. Do you want to try and hit his tail?
No. Here we go Rexy boy. That is imposing.
First drop is always the most exciting. Wow it's up there.
That is definitely up there because now it looks small.
Do we want to take a few more steps back? Should we just mosey a little?
Josh has got the quick release. I've got the power in my hands.
Is this the first time you've ever quick released anything?
This is the first yeah. It's Josh's debut.
I caught him googling how to tie a knot earlier. I've got footage of it on this camera.
Oh Rexy this could be the end. All right pull the lever Josh.
Three, two, one. Oh it's away.
Rexy's dead. Is he in the earth? What have you done Josh?
Your first drop and you've killed Rexy.
Rexy. Oh my gosh. Heat deep.
Folks. No.
So we've established the dart's accurate and our hearts were not ready.
That was silent and just freaking deadly. The boys are on a ladder.
Remember when I said we should bring a ladder Josh?
That was a great call. Great shout.
Oh no. I see him. Get him here.
Very bad. Very bad. I have not seen worse.
That can get better. No but where's the other bit?
Give the man some space. We already have some.
Hook on the tip. Oh wow that's been bent.
That's um that's raw. Yeah hold it like that bro.
Oh he needs stuffing. So that's okay.
Half of the face is gone but everything else is actually quite good.
Is there bits of Rexy in here we need to get out of here?
Perfectly flattened. It's hit something solid under there.
It must have hit just a solid bit of granite.
Rexy's back. Rexy's back.
I mean he definitely will go to the hospital but.
Yeah. But he's alive.
For those of you who don't know the channel as well we do have a resident Rexy doctor here in
Perth. Dr Kay. She's an absolute sweetheart and she's going to be at him for a few days I think.
10,000 frames a second.
It literally went through his head.
And it pulled him into the earth through from his head.
You're coming with me.
And you don't even know it's a dart it just looks like a pylon just being driven in.
How strong is Rexy?
That's insane.
Like for what just happened he's not that destroyed.
The fact that Rexy can be that flexible.
Fair dinks on the schnoz.
Like replicas are on the store everyone and we're proving they're a durable product.
Like that's literally hidden between the nostrils.
Well let's see if the guys can sharpen it and then we're onto cardboard.
And Dr Kay will put Rexy back together.
Should I give her a call? Should I call her?
Does she know this was happening today?
No.
What have you done to Rexy?
Shane's just giving them a nice little haircut.
In comes cardboard.
There is a reason we're doing cardboard.
I went back and watched the first ever giant dart video and we did cardboard.
So we're going to compare like that dart versus this one.
So first up Stanford we've got 28 layers of cardboard I do believe.
Thank you IKEA wardrobe.
28 layers.
That was us going big.
We had 28 layers.
I think this is like actually 200 layers.
So let's just see how it went versus the cardboard.
Oh yes!
I don't really know what we learned from that.
It did at least 28 but then it got dirt.
It looked quite easy.
Well at least we got more.
It's getting all the way through isn't it?
I reckon a hundred.
No.
You're wrong.
All right.
We'll go all the way through but the fins will stay at the top.
How many occasions have I been right and you two are wrong?
Very rarely.
Usually me and Scott.
Team New Heat all the way.
If you believe in New Heat.
I'm on Team New Heat.
Team New Heat.
Honestly I'm sick of being right.
All right.
Drop two.
Here we go.
Josh any predictions?
How far through?
I think every layer's cooked.
Yeah?
Yeah.
I said halfway.
The boys agree with you.
Pull the lever Josh!
Oh!
Did we make it?
Definitely went further than I thought.
No then lift the whole stack.
Yeah!
Go on then.
Oh yeah she's through.
That's pretty compelling isn't it?
Had a few to go too.
Yeah who's getting that off?
Wow it's really minced the cardboard.
Look at that.
Like just wrapped around it.
So we're not going to do the rubber mats.
This is all the stock we could buy.
So we'll save that for another video.
Another how many giant dart video.
Comment what other things we should do how many.
But don't comment paper because we're about to do...
Oh yeah like that.
Right there.
Every thousand reams we're putting some powder paint in.
Yeah like that.
That's good Derek.
All right another thousand going in.
That's three thousand.
Ten thousand sheets of paper.
What's the chances of a Moses?
I think we might be splitting.
We need to get this lined up good Josh.
Yes sir.
Like Rexy's nose good.
Like really line it up.
We're on the up.
Also people are wondering do we just bring exercise balls to sit on at shoots?
Sometimes.
All right Josh please don't scatter this field with paper.
Oh it's spinning.
Wow!
Yeah!
Please don't scatter this field with paper.
I'm up and about now.
I didn't mind it.
That's a heck of a pickup boys.
How wonky was it?
It was a winky wonky wonky donkey.
Yes there we go.
Get it in there.
People always say to us can you show us the cleanup?
Flip it enjoy.
In the New Zealand videos everyone's just like their first comment.
No not what an epic tide jump or like wow did you see that boat fly down?
He was like clean up your mess.
And we did.
People on their high horses need to calm down.
Never in our entire history have we left mess.
No you don't want to see the cleanup because it's not very exciting.
Oh they're gonna get it now.
You guys are compacted in.
I wonder how that happened.
Yeah cleanup!
Cleanup duty.
Josh do you love cleanup?
Oh it's the best part.
I'll try and say it with a straight face.
No no.
It's the best part.
Yes out of the jar.
Cleanup mostly done.
There's still bits and bobs kicking about.
We're going to be doing a one last over at the end of the video because we'll probably
have to pick up other stuff.
Good thing is if we do miss tiny little bits of paper that'll probably degrade in like
I don't know a couple of months or something.
What's also good is that I'll have paper for my fire in the lounge room for about a year
or five.
Joey your rubber band ball's coming.
Now?
Yeah.
This will be a heartbreak.
Joey's been interning with us for like a couple months and we're like can you rebuild the
rubber band ball?
How many hours do you reckon you've given to this?
I reckon about maybe 10 hours.
Over two days.
Thousand kilogram rubber band ball we dropped from a helicopter.
We kept all the bands that weren't broken.
Then we chopped it with the giant axe.
A core remained.
Joey has started with that core and then added bands the original ones.
And he's got it back to this which is I reckon how is that like 200 kilos?
We feel like this is quite a psycho scenario.
I put alone would be too scared to predict this one.
This is real interesting this one.
This could launch the dart.
I'm scared about the ball being launched.
Look this is why we do things to find out what happens.
I'll tell you what will happen.
This apple juice no added sugar will go in the gut.
I think it's going to pin the ball to the ground.
I think it's just going to dink.
We're going to have to get ball off dart and it's going to be really annoying.
I don't think you need to add sugar to apple juice.
Here we go boys.
We're on here.
Oh it's dropping good or no rotating.
Oh snap at the end.
Why is it rotating?
Because it's not straight anymore.
The actual dart.
Correct.
Because there's hardly any wind there.
It's going to happen the rest of the day.
Why don't you hop at one end and I'll hop at the other and we'll just wrench it back into place.
I have a good point.
I'm glad the rubber band ball isn't stuck to the dart because that would have been.
That's true.
That was a good result.
That was a weird result.
Look at the crater.
Wow.
That's like thigh territory.
And like really thick hole.
Oh and the tip.
The tip hole.
Has it gone all the way through the ball and out again?
I think it did.
Down and out.
Entry hole.
Oh exit.
Yeah.
Exit.
There's dirt.
It got all the way through.
And then it spat it out.
This thing ain't getting through the ball.
That did.
Well it could with enough speed.
That's what I said.
Is anyone listening to me?
Very insane.
All the way through.
That's melting cheese.
And like kiss some more earth.
I think tractor tire next.
Then quad bike.
Then car.
Doctor's making the incision.
And get it in the earth.
Is it going to take it all the way down in?
Push it into the earth.
It is.
We know it went into the earth.
Is it close to just concealing it?
It's about to come out.
Get under.
It almost took the whole thing completely under.
It's just a whisker lift.
How far can it push a tractor tire into the earth?
Is that what we're going to do next?
Yep.
Do you reckon it's wind?
It's not much wind.
All right.
Here we go.
What's been your favorite moment with this exact tire?
Without a doubt it's dropping on the axe.
Yabba dabba doo.
Heck.
It's falling very good.
We need a new fence.
What do you reckon, Gordonson?
You were right last time.
It won't go all the way in the earth.
It won't come out the other side.
You don't reckon?
No, I reckon.
No, it won't.
I'm going to say yes.
It will go through.
It won't go through both ends.
I've actually just worked it out.
What's your prediction?
I want to hear how he worked it out first.
I literally just pressed play in my mind.
It's coming down on an angle, like the 10 degree angle.
Yep.
It hits that.
It's looking good, but then it can't really get to the bottom
because then it starts to push it up like this.
It'll stay connected for most of the time
and then it will let go right at the end.
No, I think it will puncture all sides of the tire.
And look, you guys are welcome to be wrong.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Sometimes it's more fun to be wrong.
Get up there.
Come on.
Everyone good?
Did the tip kiss the earth?
Are we right?
I think we might be.
You're right, but you're wrong.
Like, yeah, you've got.
No.
No, no.
How can you be right and wrong?
The underside, but not the actual bottom, bottom of the underside.
You got more sidewalls.
I see GoPro carnage.
This one's come off.
Stafford, tell me we're right.
No, we're not right.
No exit.
I would describe Gaunton as smug.
Look at that smug smile.
I'm tired of being right.
Hold on.
It's come out of here.
Has it?
Yeah, I think it did.
No, you guys know he's clutching there.
What, the correct straw?
Clutching where it came through the tire again.
Great center of frame, that.
Some serious symmetry going on.
It's coming.
I can see the shadow.
It's the wonky tip.
There it is.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, it's really side, isn't it?
That didn't help our cause, Derek.
No, not at all.
Bend back.
Through?
Is this through the other side like I saw it?
I mean, it definitely did, but Scott's right.
It didn't go through the bottom.
That's really flexed in.
That's crumpled that tire, which you cannot do easily.
No.
You understand why the world's got a tire disposal problem, don't you?
It's either hard to kill.
We've got two horsepower.
You're really at the mercy of his steering.
Something tells me Gaunton's really enjoying this.
Lunch took its toll on my shirt.
I went heavy on the sauce and I paid for it.
Anyway, let's kill a quad.
All right, Byron.
Jump on in.
Good to see the logo on the quad bike there, Byron.
I appreciate that.
Yeah, I had to smash that on there for you.
Where's this quad bike from?
Out in the bush.
Cost us a cart and a beer.
We probably decide where we hit it.
I'm thinking just right in through here.
Right in the frass.
Heron, I have got a question that could be interesting.
How far will a part go off a quad?
He's analyzing parts.
That's going to snap off.
I reckon we'll get not to the trunk of the tree,
but to where the leaves come out.
With something.
These glasses are good, mate.
Are you having fun today?
I'm trying to convince Derek to wear them,
but he said he'd rather be dead than wear these glasses.
I wear the Herons and the Herons only.
Businessman haircut and glasses from you, Josh.
Party at the front and back.
I was like, if your business is partying on boats.
If your business is partying on boats.
Great when you just come up with a line on the fly, that's good.
And it hit and landed.
The original Giant Dart didn't get a name.
It's Giant Dart.
No, it did. Giant Dart.
I really like Big Boy.
Send down Big Boy.
Bye-bye, quad bike.
Did we miss?
No, we missed for the most part.
So I could have sat here and more or less been all right.
We missed the frass.
Did you line this up, Josh?
No, Derek did.
Hey, look, we don't always get things right.
That's actually our motto at How Ridiculous.
You can't get it.
Is it stuck?
I did freaking say that, too.
I've had a day today.
An absolute day.
When did you say that?
No, he said the crane won't be strong enough to lift it out.
And I said, surely not.
And that's the end of the day, boys.
Hey, look, it's been wonderful.
I'll ditch the train over there and leave it.
I'm going to get it out.
No, they're just going to wiggle it.
Lenny, how much lifting force have you got?
I've just tried three tons.
Three tons.
Dean's got a solution.
Dean, the machine.
Just needs a little giggle.
Theory here is I think we just, you know, just jimmy.
A bit of a jimmy.
Lenny's going to need a Shannon Knoll.
You got to lift.
Come on, Lenny.
Reading Lenny's face.
It's very stoic.
I think there's a slight shake of the chin.
It's a very still face to be honest.
Four and a half tons of resistance.
It's definitely, it's definitely, yay!
The quad has returned.
Mr. Gonson, what's the best thing that could happen here?
All right, so the dart comes down.
It hits the quad bike.
And you see, you see this?
Yeah.
That springs up.
It's flipping and it lands on the top of the crane.
Like a bottle flip.
That's what you're hoping for?
Yeah.
Yeah, nice.
Hey, it's a good time.
Well, you've been right for everything else, so.
Can you imagine if I got that right?
Three, two, one.
That was arguably the best noise of the day.
It was a good crunch.
Potential new name for the mega giant dart.
Captain Crunch.
Oh, that has hit Heron well.
Oh, hang on.
It's not up there.
What?
The springs.
Oh, Gonson's springs.
I'd love for you to go over there to Jack.
Make him launch the drone to look on top of the boom.
Unless we can prove that it's not up there.
Did Scott plant one with Lenny earlier in the day?
Slowly, are we just going on music?
Yeah, what song are you talking about?
It's one of our slowly songs.
Coming up.
Lenny's lifting.
Oh, it's split.
It is.
Yay, he split it.
You said we would split a quad.
So what is it now?
Just a two.
So bad.
That was so bad.
I think that went quite well, do you?
That was so good.
Yeah.
That was so good.
See you, Josh.
Byron's chasing you.
Who's going to win?
Every car has a story.
Mr. Derek Herron, tell us this one.
This car, Stanford, was my family's car.
We bought it back in 2004.
It actually appeared.
Not only appeared, and starred in the first How Ridiculous video that we ever posted on
the internet.
It also was in the trick shot battle with Brodie Smith.
It was.
I threw a basketball out of this on the go in a hoop.
That was quite fun.
Derek was on the wheel.
I don't think I'd let anyone else drive it.
Yeah.
I think that was my parents' rules.
You got anything to say about the...
It runs on unloaded fuel.
It doesn't currently reverse.
Yeah.
Why are we smashing it?
Because some people might be like, boys, that actually looks like quite good still.
It's over 20 years old.
Like, it's time.
It doesn't run well.
Can you clean these wiper blades?
No, if you want to nick those.
Byron, did you polish this thing up?
I did.
The kids and I gave it a wash.
Tried to polish those wheels so they'd pop out in the camera for you.
What if we tried to hit the top of the gear stick?
You want to hit like the center of the...
The crosshead.
It's literally a crosshead.
That's what we're aiming for.
Passengers are all in.
Can any passenger survive?
It's a nice fun question to add into the mix.
Bit of a mystery about it, isn't there?
If this is the best thing that's ever happened to this car, what would be the second best?
Oh, definitely just me sitting in it any time ever.
Byron, who's been big, he welded these 44 gallon drums together.
Four sturdy pillars.
I heard we're on drums, but I didn't hear we're on double drums.
He didn't do that down at the shed, did he?
He did.
Did he weld?
Brilliant.
I wish I knew how to do more things like weld and stuff.
I'm at the point in life where I'm okay not doing that sort of thing.
Were you ever at a point in life where you weren't okay with it?
To be fair, no, I wasn't.
That's fully on.
You raised me up.
That has made it significantly more exciting.
Oh, exponentially.
Yeah, I said to Josh...
We sent the mega giant dart onto a car for our arms giant stunt video.
Oh, that's good, but I'd rather it come out the other side.
I was like, Josh, can we elevate it with some drums?
Dartboard gonna get thrown in.
That's solid.
Take that spot.
Can you imagine a bullseye?
I reckon she's looking pretty good.
Are you close enough or do you need to be slightly more in?
You're an animal.
If it moves in the air like it has been,
there's a good chance it'll kick out a bit, sneak down, bang, bull.
Also, a Gerald would be something.
I mean, I think you're getting all of it.
You're getting the Gerald.
No, not if you get the edge.
Oh, true.
Is the car gonna something?
Might stay on the barrels, too.
Surely not.
I'm saying maybe...
Well, not...
No, you gotta make a call, Mr. Wright.
Make a call.
I don't know, there's something...
He's visualising it.
He's calculating it.
What's gonna happen?
Oh, let's fill it up.
Oh, come on.
The answer is it's tough.
I feel like what's actually gonna end up happening,
the car remained where it is.
The barrels are upright and the dart is also upright.
The giant dart in the bulletproof glass.
Dart isn't even gonna touch earth.
The bottom of the dart will be in the earth,
but the top is supported in the car,
which is above the ground on the barrels.
Love it.
Let's see if he's right.
You're wrong.
All right, now let's find out, let's find out.
Yeah, well, PT, thank you for your service.
Did many a cruise in the PT Cruiser?
I would say it's a good vehicle,
but the reality is it's really not.
Yeah, I think there'll be a lot of people out there
that are pretty happy to see this thing get hit.
Of all the cars, the dart, it's up there.
I mean, the bullseye would be good.
My prediction being right would be sensational.
I don't think we'll get a bull burst.
Is everyone ready?
Yeah, we're all good, Josh.
It was correct again.
What?
Dart board obliterated.
Oh no, we didn't get a bull.
The bull was still there.
That is an incredible effort.
Gods of this, how'd they do it?
I know for a fact that the passenger was in trouble.
You've got to say that to Gerald.
Definitely, we have not hit bull.
I reckon this bull needs to remain.
We need to keep this bull.
Just the inner piece.
Yeah, pull that bit off, just that.
There you go, Gordon.
There's your prize, the bullseye.
Now time to get this car down.
Bit of spirit of New Zealand about this.
Ready?
Momentum.
Definitely worth the try.
Three, two, one.
Purple lives, yellow's dead.
Oh, I was yellow.
I don't think we hit gear stick.
Rig it up and see if you can pull the dart out.
Oh, out.
Interesting, but the dart should be able to come out now.
For free.
GoPro very dead.
Definitely most damaged.
That's us, I reckon.
We got to do a whole bunch of clean up and then we're out of here.
44 Club love you.
We're here at Dr. K's hospital.
I've got the bandaged up Rexy.
What have you done?
How bad is it?
Oh, Rexy.
Oh, OK, sure.
I can do it.
Thanks, Dr. K.
We will see you soon.
