Nick and Vanessa Lachey are making the move from Hawaii back to California,
swapping their stylish Honolulu mansion for a chic new home in LA.
After just two years, the couple listed their resort-like residence near Oahu's Kahala Beach
for $9.8 million, and recently purchased a modern farmhouse-style property in Encino
for $6.8 million. The Lacheys originally bought their Hawaiian home for $8.8 million in 2021,
soon after Vanessa joined the cast of NCIS Hawaii. However, the decision to sell comes
after the show's cancellation in April after three seasons.
As for the new family home in LA, which was built in 2023, Nick and Vanessa will be able
to enjoy six bedrooms, three floors of living space, and over 8,000 square feet, along with
luxury amenities. Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey first met in the early 2000s when Nick was in
boyband 90 Degrees, and Vanessa was in MTV VJ on Total Request Live. It wasn't until 2011 when
the pair would marry, and they now share three children. The pair works together too, currently
co-hosting Netflix's reality dating shows Love is Blind and The Ultimatum, with Nick also hosting
Perfect Match. Before relocating to Hawaii, the couple sold their former LA area home
to tennis pro Naomi Osaka for $6.3 million. Just this past summer, Nick and Vanessa Lachey
have said aloha to Hawaii and their luxurious Honolulu home, selling the Oahu property for an
impressive $9.45 million after asking around $9.8 million. The couple bought the home in May 2022
after moving to the island in 2021 when Vanessa landed a role in NCIS Hawaii. However, with the
cancellation after just three seasons, Nick, Vanessa, and their three kids decided to leave
Hawaii and return to California. Their departure from the islands seems to be a mix of emotions.
Vanessa shared on Instagram, Ahui Hu, Hawaiian for goodbye. Home is where the heart is. Hawaii,
you will always have my heart. Mahalo nui loa for three beautiful, magical years you gave me
and my family. Now on to the next adventure. Off into the sunset we go. During their time living
in Hawaii, the family embraced island life and made the most of it with their children.
Family even shared Halloween memories dressed in NCIS costumes. Despite accepting a lower offer,
the couple still made a profit, having purchased the home for $8.795 million just two years ago.
They previously swapped their Encino, California home for this island retreat,
and they're now returning to the San Fernando Valley. Nick and Vanessa's Hawaii home was
located in the exclusive Kahala neighborhood and had a resort-like feel. Living spaces blended
seamlessly from indoor to outdoor, while the kitchen featured custom European-style cabinets,
high-end appliances, and a walk-in pantry, along with bar-style seats. The adjacent dining area
featured elegant Venetian plaster walls and custom cabinets. Built in 2017, the mansion
spanned 7,732 square feet and offered six beds and seven baths. The ground-floor primary suite
offered a spa bath overlooking the garden and pool. The main level also featured a spacious
home office that once displayed Lachey memorabilia and a charming guest suite with a lanai.
The second level hosted four additional bedroom suites, two of which include lanais accessible
via an elevator or a beautiful staircase. The listing noted that the move-in ready home is
across from the beach and conveniently located near the Kahala Hotel while a golf course,
restaurants, and shopping. When it comes to their new home, Nick and Vanessa have invested $6.8
in a newly constructed, modern farmhouse-style home in a prime area of Encino. Built in 2023
on a secluded street on a lot spanning nearly half an acre, this property features a double-gated,
circular driveway, an attached three-car garage, as well as a sports court which is tucked away
privately. The two-toned residence offered six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, along with 8,300
square feet of living space. Across the home's three levels, there are white oak floors,
high ceilings, and designer lighting making for a stylish and modern aesthetic. A grand wood door
opens to an entryway which leads to a cozy fireside living room, an ensuite guest bedroom,
and a bedroom converted into an office. A wood-railed floating staircase leads up to a
spacious great room with a formal dining area and a family room which boasts a linear marble
fireplace as its highlight, and pocketing glass doors which open to a covered terrace with
barbecue station. The gourmet kitchen sits next to the family room and features stone counters,
a large eat-in island, designer Thermador appliances, and a nearby butler's pantry.
The lower level of the new Lachais family home includes a vaulted safe room, a movie theater,
a gym, a rec room, and a bar with a glass-encased wine wall. Then upstairs, the master suite boasts
a fireplace, dual designer closets, and a luxurious marble bath with two vanities,
a makeup counter, a soaking tub, and a steam shower. Outside, the family will have plenty
of space to unwind and entertain in the turf-covered yard where there's a pool with a
baja shelf, a spa, and a fire pit area next to a cabana. After checking out Nick and Vanessa
Lachais' homes, including the one that they sold in Hawaii and the new place that they're moving
into back in Encino, that'll bring today's house tour to a close. Thank you everyone for watching,
