It's the Honor Magic V3. Let's take a look. Now most people think that a folding phone is a
little much as you're essentially carrying two phones glued together. It's thicker, heavier,
and all that just for a bigger screen. But I don't think that's actually right. This Honor Magic V3
when it's folded is only 9.2 millimeters thick, which isn't that much thicker than my iPhone
without a case that is 7.6 millimeters thick. When it's unfolded, it's only half of that at
4.2 millimeters and weighing in at 226 grams. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is only 4 grams
lighter at 221 grams. That's like a single piece of A4 paper. Now the screens on this thing are
pretty insane too. The exterior screen is 6.43 inches, OLED, 120Hz, has 5,000 nits of brightness,
and 23 by 76 by 1060 pixels, which is pretty freaking good, especially that 5,000 nits of
brightness. That's blinding. And I really like the aspect ratio of this external screen. It's very
similar to a non-folding smartphone as compared to something like the Samsung Fold 6, which is
much skinnier. The internal screen is basically two of these glued together. It beautifully unfolds
to this OLED, 7.92 inch, 120Hz, 2344 by 2156 screen, but with less brightness at 1,600 nits
of brightness. Now 1,600 nits of brightness sounds small compared to the 5,000 of the exterior screen,
but 1,600 is actually the standard for most flagship phones. Apple, Samsung, Google, the list
goes on. And I mean, how could you say no to double the screen space of a typical phone? I mean, look
how insane it is for things like looking at photos or even gaming. It's literally like bringing around
a phone-tablet hybrid everywhere you go. But the main selling point of having a bigger screen is
the ability to multitask. Literally, I could be watching YouTube with Google Maps open or even
record a video and have a script open right beside it. It opens up so many new ways to use your phone.
You can even have a third screen floating if you want. But for me, two is the sweet spot. Now, at
least for me, this is what really makes this phone awesome. It's not just two phones glued together
with twice the weight. It's a single phone with alternative viewing options. Since I'm on the topic
of screens, I do want to mention how good the crease is on this. Now, of course, when the screen
is off, you can sort of see it at an angle. But honestly, while you're using it, it's genuinely
barely noticeable. This might not seem like a big deal if you haven't used a folding phone before,
but it can really make the experience better. Now, the next most noticeable thing apart from
the ginormous screen is this huge camera bump. At the rear, we have three cameras. A 50-megapixel
main camera with optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel 3.5x telephoto camera, and a 40-megapixel
ultrawide camera. Taking photos with this is pretty incredible. But since it's a folding phone,
you can actually use this front camera for selfies. And you think I'm done, but no. You still
have two front cameras. One when it's folded, and one more when it's unfolded. Both of them are 20
megapixels, which definitely isn't as good as the main cameras, but perfectly fine for selfies or
video call. So yeah, there's a total of five cameras on this phone. And all this is running
on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and an Adreno 750 GPU with 12 gigabytes of RAM. The battery here is also
5150 mAh, which makes this phone feel responsive, last long, and overall just really, really nice
to use. For testing purposes, I played a bunch of Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, PUBG, and League,
with none of them suffering from any problems at maximum settings. Now, for the software. This
phone is running on Magic OS 8 on Android 14. Now, as we are in 2024, of course this phone comes
with AI features. We're gonna look at the three main AI features offered on this phone. First,
we have Magic Portal. This is a feature that activates this portal at the side of your phone,
which allows you to share or use information between your apps. Let me show you a few examples
so it makes more sense. So imagine I just took this cute little picture of my cat. I can drag
it over to Telegram to send it to my girlfriend, or even to Chrome so I can search for her breed.
If I have an address written down, I can drag it over to Google Maps, and I'll have directions to
that area. It just makes everything so much more convenient. Now, let's say I took this picture,
but there's this guy just standing in front of my camera trying to be funny. Not to worry,
if you head down to Edit, you will find the Magic Eraser tool that uses generative AI to remove
anything you want from a picture, and it does a pretty good job. Here's one where I removed a
bunch of people from the background, one where I just removed this sign from the wall, and one
where I just straight up removed the entire building. Having this available at just a
moment's notice is insane. The possibilities are endless. And lastly, I think one of the coolest
ways to use a phoning phone is the real-time translation. There's a few different ways to
do it, but I think the best one is face-to-face folded. This is my friend Bob Lert, and he's
going to help me demonstrate the face-to-face translation. So from my POV, I choose the
Now from the other POV, the person sees the fully translated sentence and can reply in their own
language. Why are you asking me this stupid question? And I get the fully translated sentence
back in my original language. You also can do it flat so two people can stand facing each other,
and they each have half the screen to begin or stop the translation. I personally feel that
using AI for things like this, enhancing the interactions between people, is such a meaningful
and great way for AI to be implemented. I mean of course, using Gemini to generate a picture of
anything I could ever think of is amazing, but I think using AI for things like this
is the next step forward. And yeah, that's most of the things about this phone that makes it
crazy. By the time you're watching this video, the phone is available for pre-order up till
September 11th. And if you do pre-order before then, you will get a year's worth of screen
protection, an Honor Watch 4, and a wireless charger stand. That's a pretty good deal.
If you've been eyeing this phone, or if you just wanted to delve into the realm of
foldable phones, this is a really really good choice. So yeah, remember to subscribe for
more content like this, and a huge thanks to Honor for sending this over. See you soon!
