Slow Life in a Remote Bulgarian Village (Eastern Europe) Far From Civilization |

Hey everybody, welcome to a really exciting day today. It's the day after Easter and I'm in a really good mood and I decided let me show you guys a new part of our village that we've never visited before. That's my village right back there. I want to show you also a few of my friends right over there and I'm not going to hold you much longer. Let's go. She lives in that house right there. She is also the mother of my boyfriend's sister's husband and she's also the mayor of the village. So what she does is she lets the chickens free roam but she puts them away at night and we are supposed to let them out. We haven't done so yet but we'll be letting them out and yeah they just come back home. They roam around and always catch a lot of fox, jackals, dangers out here. Clearly this is not going to protect against foxes but jackals can't get in. And fun fact she has another owl included here in this video. She has another what was it 27 little chicks that she has in a little incubator right there in her house. I'll show you guys and out back she has another I don't know 30. So yeah she's got a lot of chickens. That's the village center but I've shown that to you before so I'm going to show you the new section. We've never actually we've walked part of the way here but we haven't completed our tour here so I hope you guys enjoy. Oh let's see if we can I don't want to wake Bella Cristina up. I don't know if she's because it's weird that her chickens aren't out so maybe she's napping and I don't want to wake her up but I want to show you guys her other chicks. You can already see them. They're little teenagers. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's me. Come on. Okay okay I don't want to disturb. Like I said I don't know if she's sleeping and I don't want to stress her out right now. So annoying. I'm there every day. I guess he's just confused why am I going out from the back. Oh yeah everyone has guard dogs out here and there's many reasons for that. Now to give you guys for anyone who's new out here and anyone who has explored my little village with me I think it never hurts to give you guys some new information because there's so much history and I'm really trying hard to learn the legends and tales of the village but one thing I want to show you guys is these are new and it's a really big deal because before what we what we would do is we would have to gather. Each house gathered their garbage individually and we would throw it. We'd take it in the car. Some people don't have cars and they would take it in their carriages believe it or not and go to the closest city and dispose of it there which I think you guys can imagine. Um yeah it's not the best it's not the best system so we finally got dumpsters. Now let me talk to you actually about this house right here. This house belongs to a woman I believe her name was Baba Elena but I could be mistaken and I also think she was family with Lele Cristina over there. What I do remember though and I can tell you for a fact is this house fell the roof right in front of us. We were right over there walking over to have dinner and all of a sudden we hear this actually no we were inside having dinner that's I remember very well now we were inside having dinner and we heard this huge and right away we knew that a house fell because unfortunately this is just part of life out here. Good news is a lot of renovations have been going on people are coming back. No one is selling their houses because everyone has descendants. Let's walk over this way actually while I talk to you. I've never I don't know if I've even been this way. Let me show you here too. It's dangerous right now because it's getting warm and snakes are starting to come up but I put on my kind of protective boots not really. Let's see if I can get a little closer. So yeah we heard the house collapse we went outside and this house was in ruins. This is what people would live like well obviously not the ruin part but you get the idea. The first floor would hold the animals because the and you can see the ceilings were really low on some houses. Ours is like this too. The first floor the ceilings are a little taller than this but still pretty low and the reason is because the heat from the animals would rise and heat the second floor. Now this is kind of dangerous because that roof is really not stable but let me show you oh yes we can get there. I'm just going to try not to get the roof collapse on me here. Here is the second floor and the second floor would hold the kitchen the common living living space which is what you're seeing right here and the roof. I'm so sorry I just got preoccupied with the roof the the rooms in the back. I'm just trying to figure out where is the kitchen. Do you see this door right here? I doubt this is what that is. There was probably a staircase outside because that's heading towards the street but anytime you see a door out in the back so there must be a room back there. I've never been in this house before. If you ever see a door out in the back like this that was guess to where? The bathroom and the way the bathroom worked is it was just a little thing popping out of the house. I'll show you guys and you know go about your business into a little hole in the ground and it would fall right into the backyard. This that you see here is an old bathroom. Yep the way it worked. Let's see if I can get any closer. I can't see it too well but there was a hole at the bottom and literally your business falls straight down onto the ground. We don't use those anymore thank god but that's something cool I thought to mention. Definitely wouldn't be the case here against her neighbors. Oh yeah there was definitely a staircase out here. Yep that's kind of how the bathrooms worked. Here is a renovated home. You can hear people inside right now. The tv's on and now we're getting to a new part of the village. I myself have never even been here in like the all these years I've been coming so this is really exciting actually. I hope this isn't private property but I don't think so. There's a little pathway. Oh but I think it is. Hmm you'd think I'd know since our village is so small but believe it or not there's lots of nooks and crannies everywhere. My boyfriend he knows every single person out here where they live, their story, their blood type, everything. I don't I guess because I technically grew up in New York. This has a yeah a catinar, a lock so it seems to be occupied. Wow I've never been here before. Look at this look at that work the woodwork on the roof. It's amazing. Yay look how lucky we are. Okay it all looped together. Here's Lella Christina's chickens. There's a doggie staring at me. Fine I'm leaving. Bye. Okay this looks like a perfect little picnic spot. Look at this. Let's loop around to see where this leads us to. Huh this turned out really fun because I actually went scoping and I explored out where I want to take you guys but I didn't go this way and we are exploring for the first time together so I'm in this with you. This is most likely an outhouse. I have a video where I've showed it an outhouse an example of an outhouse but I'm not going to get into all that now and here here I am actually not orienting myself yet. Let's see yeah this is Lella Christina's house from the back. This is where we basically have dinner every single night when we go over. I knew I recognized this ATV. This is I believe it's Mitko's ATV. Oh there you go again okay and I don't know whose house this is. Funny enough I never really even paid attention to these here but there now you can recognize. Those who've watched my videos before and I have a lot of videos from here. We were here just the other night the whole week actually the whole Easter week so if you continue this way you will reach the city the city the village center. Are you gonna start barking at me too? No? Okay good. Now let's head over back that way and see what else we can explore. Well I'm gonna call it a wrap here for today. I had a great time exploring with you guys because I was in it with you. I had no idea where we where we were going either so it was really exciting.
