Raw Onion Challenge Are You Up To It? Abbott Inspired...

G'day, I'm Mark from Self Sufficient Me and here I am out in the middle of the sun. It's a hot and sweltery autumn afternoon in the veggie garden. It's about 35 degrees Celsius and I've changed my shirt twice. It's just ridiculous. In the background here I've got our turmeric which has been loving this warm weather so we're going to have a bumper crop and harvest of turmeric this season. But anyway that's not the reason why I'm out here. You may or may not have seen in the media Tony Abbott our PM. He was visiting Tasmania and he was visiting an onion farm and he happened to bite into a beautiful little brown onion similar to this, skin and all, and that made worldwide news. So it was a good promotion for Tasmanian onions. This one here is a South Australian onion. Anyway I thought well what a champion biting into a raw onion and his eyes didn't even water. So I thought I'm a man I might give it a go myself. So on or live on camera at least I'm going to bite in for the first time ever into a brown good tough Aussie onion and see how it goes. Wish me luck. Smells good. Nice and shiny. I don't even know if I really want to do this. I think it gets better as you chew. You know the saying just keep chewing. No it doesn't get better. It gets worse. My eyes aren't watering yet. No they are a bit. Okay I don't think I'll take another bite but I've done it. My challenge to you is get a nice raw onion like our PM and I just done, bite into the baby and see how you go. I'll be interested to see your videos and your reactions.
