Hey friends, welcome back to my channel for another video.
Today we are going to be doing part two in my redecorate after the holidays
series. There will be three parts to this series
so I hope that you have been enjoying it. I will leave
part one linked in the description box down below.
In these videos I aim to show you that redecorating after the holidays does
You can make some very simple changes to make your space
feel refreshed and less cluttered than it did
with Christmas decor. We are tackling our living room
area in our home for this part of the series.
Starting with our Christmas tree, I'm showing you how I store
all of my ribbon and ornaments. I know a lot of people have the really fancy
storage bins for the ornaments but I have just not wanted to spend the money
on it so I'm putting them back in the original packaging that they came in
or I'm putting them into this target bag which will go
in our bag that we put our Christmas tree in.
Now this process is very messy and I typically
scratch up my hands and my arms doing this because I never think to put on
the gloves that this tree comes with but this does come with a bag so I'm going
to start bagging the tree skirt up. I put in the tree
topper and I also put in all those ornaments that I just mentioned.
I always have to have my husband help me close the bag
so we had to wait until he got home to fully close it up
but I do enjoy having bags instead of boxes.
I've found it does take up less space. Once we have the tree put away we have a
mess of flocking all over our floor so I'm taking our
cordless vacuum. Just going to get all that cleaned up
before we put in our new accent chairs.
Next we're going to unbox our new accent chairs from
Denver Modern. If you have been following me for a little while you
probably have seen we have the veil bar stools over in our
kitchen and we absolutely love them. They have
been such a hit over on my Instagram and here
on YouTube. I get so many questions on where they
are from so we decided to go ahead and get the
accent chairs to match them and these are the veil
lounge chair and we got the color white boucle.
These come in ginormous boxes but they are fully assembled so all you have to
do is just unpackage them which I absolutely
love. These things are pretty heavy but I was
able to manage it by myself and just tip the box over to get the
chairs out. Here is me sitting on them for the first
time and just absolutely loving how comfortable they are.
They seriously feel like you are sitting on a cloud so I'll make sure to link
them below for you. They're definitely a splurge but in my
opinion they are worth it. I'll go into more how I
styled them here in a little bit but first we're going to
start taking out all of the Christmas decor out of our arched cabinet and I'm
going to be adding in more of a refreshed look.
After I bring our lamp back over I'm going to
start adding some new pieces into the arched cabinet.
First I'm taking away the winter art that I had in here,
replacing it with two different ones to see which one I liked better.
I ended up going with the new framed art from the Studio McGee release so
that'll be linked in the description box down below.
I'm just making very simple changes in here. I'm keeping those gold bells
because I really love them and I think they are still
wintery. They may be more Christmassy but they're making me happy so I'm going to
leave them for the time being. Adding in some candle holders with my
favorite battery operated taper candles from
Amazon. Adding those right in front of the art
that I just placed. For the shelf below I'm adding in my
DIY vase from Hobby Lobby with some baby's breath and I'm going to try a few
things here but I ended up going with this other really pretty modern
vase from Target. Unfortunately it is not available anymore.
To finish off this shelf I'm going to switch out
my white ceramic bowl with my paper mache bowl that I got
last year at a vintage market. I absolutely love it and I love
the warmth that it brought to our arched cabinet.
Taking the advice of one of my followers I am turning my rocking horse around so
it doesn't look like he's in trouble. I actually like it quite a bit more so
thank you for that tip if you're watching.
To finish off our arched cabinet I'm going to bring in my bookends
with some coffee table books. Originally I only had two
and I decided to layer in another one to give it a little bit of height.
Now to style our new accent chairs from Denver Modern. I'm taking
this nine dollar blanket from Walmart. This has been a viral blanket and it
went on major sale this past week. I posted a reel
over on my Instagram and if you missed it I do apologize
but it is such a good find. I will try to link it if it's still available online
in the description box down below. I am trying out two different colors
and I would love to know which one you prefer in the comments below.
I kept the lighter brown with the darker brown pillow. I also got the pillow that
you're seeing here from Target on sale. It was 70% off when I
got it so seven dollars total steal and I ended up moving the
brown blanket over to our couch which you will see here
shortly. Now I know this area might be a little
controversial because I ended up leaving my
greenery up so I took down all of the bells, the stockings,
and I took down the ribbon as well. I originally thought that I wanted to
leave the ribbon but I ended up taking it away and I definitely like it without
the ribbon. I just didn't really know what else I would put here.
I need to go shopping for some new garland
for the springtime and I just am not in the spring
vibe yet. It is still so chilly like I mentioned in part one.
It is like negative 10 outside and at least
feels like that. I think it's like 12 degrees but with the windchill it's so
cold. So for now we are keeping the winter
garland up on our mantel for a coffee table.
Keeping this very simple. Taking away the trees and the little house.
Putting in this beautiful fluted bowl that I got from
Amazon for Christmas actually so thank you to my brother and sister-in-law.
And then I'm adding in these taper candle holders that I got from Target on
a major sale a few months ago to the top of my
woven baskets.
And that is going to complete today's video. I hope that you enjoyed part two
of my redecorate after the holidays series.
I will leave part one like I said a link to the description box down below.
