VILLARREAL CF 1 - 5 FC BARCELONA | RESUMEN LALIGA EA SPORTS | J6 | 2024/2025

You have to go right the way back to 2007. Forlan, Senna and Perez were all in the team and they won 3-1 a long time ago. Villarreal, emerging Terry really is the favourites for that. He got to one in the cup two seasons ago. Ball over the top here for Pino, he's taken it in his stride. On his chest, over the top of Ter Stegen and Villarreal take the lead. And what a way to do it. Baile slides in, Pedri's given it to Pablo Torre. Chance for Lewandowski, goal! Lewandowski scores for FC Barcelona. It's his fifth of the season, he's made a superb start. He puts it back into the danger area at the far post. It's been turned in by Lewandowski. Barcelona are two up, two goals for Lewandowski. It's been a while since we've been able to say that. But there's a chance here for Villarreal to get a foothold back in the game. Nicolas Pepe squares it, Ayoze scores and it's 2-1. And that will bring the Saranica to life if they've been slightly flat since Lewandowski's double. Ayoze scores again, his fourth goal of the season. And it's Villarreal 1, Barcelona 2. And Nicolas Pepe, the saviour at one end. That was recognised by all the players. With the corner, Ter Stegen, he's underneath it. And Ter Stegen has a problem because the Barcelona players... Hands on his face, Marcus. He's got Nicolas Pepe and Ayoze ahead of him. He plays in Nicolas Pepe, this is a chance for Villarreal. He's all alone, he doesn't need anybody else. Nicolas Pepe scores his first goal for Villarreal. Pablo Torre shoots and scores! And Barcelona go 3-1 up. He got the assist for the first. That's a penalty. Pepe Güelles getting ready to go in. Cross comes in, Barry with the header! And just as you say, Terry, this one is absolutely 100% not over. Still not cleared it properly. Rafinha with a shot, takes a deflection, hits the back of the net. It's Barcelona 4, Villarreal 1. Surely they're home and dry now, there's still 15 minutes left. 25 years ago and he's never played there. Chance here for Rafinha to make it 5! And it is 5. While Barcelona keep racking up the goals. And Rafinha, with the captain's armband, keeps scoring them. Villarreal 1, Barcelona 5. Rafinha celebrates with La Minima. No time for any more goals. If we kept playing, they would have scored them. Hansi Flick, a very happy man. And Barcelona, an emphatic victory, Terry. The game started out in a brilliant manner for Villarreal. They were on the front foot, they looked the better team. And it looked like it was going to be a really difficult afternoon.
