Sharpened Intuition. Intuition is more than a gut feeling. It is an inner knowing that seems to transcend logic. One of the first weird signs that your third eye is open is an overwhelming sense of intuition that seems to sail you effortlessly through life. You can find yourself predicting events well before they take place or sensing people's emotions and motives without their uttering a word. It can even be a feeling as though you are tuning into something beyond the norm 5 human senses. Sometimes heightened intuition may come through in day-to-day situations. As the third eye opens, your dreams can get very strong and full of meaning. You may start to dream as if you were in real situations or even have symbolic messages or prophetic visions within them. In lucid dreaming, you are fully aware that you are dreaming and can even control the dream. This now becomes a frequent occurrence. Since one's third eye is closely associated with the pineal gland governing sleep cycles and dream states, it's only natural that that would be a portal to deeper dimensions in consciousness. Often such dreams are very pertinent and full of insight to lead one deeper into understanding or spiritual awareness. You could also start having visions of past or future lives or even contacting spiritual masters. 3. Sensitivity to Light. You might notice you've grown really sensitive to bright lights or sudden changes in lighting. This isn't just physical sensitivity, but it can also be spiritual or energetic. As your third eye opens, your physical and metaphysical light awareness is heightened. You might feel that you're more disturbed by artificial lighting or find you are more comfortable out in natural sunlight or in dimly lit environments. This heightened sensitivity can also extend to more subtle changes in the energies that surround you, such as the light from other people's auras or the spiritual light inherent in certain places. 4. Feeling Pressure Between Your Eyebrows. A very common physical sign that your third eye has been turned on is a feeling of pressure, tingling or heat between your eyebrows. This can come through meditation or spiritual practices, or sometimes just at random throughout your day. The third eye chakra is between the eyebrows, and this physical sensation usually indicates to your body that energy is flowing through this powerful center. It may start with a gentle pressure or evolve into a stronger sensation that insists on attention. Many times this may also be accompanied by an inner knowing that something within you has been stirred. You could feel the pressure at other times too, when your intuition is on or you are reflecting on spiritual matters in great depth. 5. Increased Sensitivity to Energy. You may find yourself walking into a room and instantly picking up whether the vibe is positive or negative, or feeling drained after being around certain people without knowing why. Greater awareness allows you to perceive energy in ways other than through your physical senses. A person may begin to pick up the energy field of other living things, such as animals, plants, or even earth itself. Such sensitivity will be helpful in life, because you will be able to avoid the negative energy and surround yourself with more uplifting and positive influences. 6. A Change in Perception. Perhaps one of the deepest ways an awakened third eye can impact an individual is in the change of perception. Things that seemed important may no longer be, and you may start to question long-held beliefs or speculate about societal norms. This new perspective is often accompanied by increased insight in the bigger questions of life, and makes an individual more introspective and philosophical. You might begin to realize how everything is related to everything else, and feel your connectedness to the universe. This is exciting and sometimes overwhelming. Besides making you let go of the older ways of thought for new spirituality, you might change over time. Finding this new perspective brings in a more peaceful life, and with a greater purpose, helping you more fully align with your higher self and spiritual path. 7. Sharpening of Psychic Ability. An opened third eye can reveal psychic abilities that one may never have known. These psychic abilities can begin quite subtly, perhaps with a strong intuitive feeling or hunch, but over time, they could become more apparent. You may even find yourself beginning to receive messages or guidance from spiritual entities in the form of guides or angels. If you have been experiencing increased psychic events, such as precognition of future events, seeing visions, or just having an increased feeling of connectivity to unseen forces, then your third eye is more than likely fully active and enabling you to connect with your inherent spiritual gifts. 8. Experiencing Synchronicities. These may come as repeated numbers, such as 1111, other symbols or messages that one keeps seeing over and over, or even running into people who seem to be playing an important role in their life. Synchronicities are seen to be ways through which the universe is trying to converse with them in a way to guide and validate their paths. The more open your third eye, the more you seemingly notice these events start to occur, and the feeling that you are tuned in with life's flow is almost magical. 9. Closer to Nature. An opened third eye does not just connect you with the spiritual realm, it also connects you closer to nature. You might find that you feel more peaceful and grounded when you're outdoors, and that being in nature recharges you in ways it never did before. You may become more aware of the subtle energies of plants, trees and animals, and feel more in tune with the rhythms of the earth. This connection with nature is a mirror of your heightened awareness and spiritual alignment, in which you may develop the ability to feel the life force that moves through all living things.
