Well guys, we're out here just shooting the bows a little bit. So I was going to give you guys a
little rundown on what we shoot for this upcoming season. I'll let Casey go first.
I actually just got this bow this year. It's a VTM. So I guess it's last year's model. I actually
got it off Facebook Marketplace. Pretty good deal. I think I paid like, I don't know, $800 or $900
for it. It actually came with some stabilizers and stuff, but I put mine off my old bow. I was
shooting a PSE Expedite NXT last year. But this was just such a good deal. And actually for me,
it came with a black gold side as well, which really sold me on it, but I ended up switching
from that. But it's a VTM 31. It's supposed to be 70 pound limbs, but one of my bow scales is
saying it's like 73, 74, and the other bow scale I got saying it's 78. So somewhere between 74 and
78. So it's pulling pretty heavy, which is actually what led me to having to do some
messing around with my sights. I've always shot a black gold three pin slider, used my fourth pin,
or I mean my third pin as that slider pin. But this bow was shooting so much faster than
any bow I've shot in the past few years. I had to actually... I couldn't have a 20 and 30 yard
pin. My pin gaps were just so tight. It was basically using the same pin. So I wanted to
try a single pin out, which I did. And I didn't like it much because I just hated the fact that
I was going to have to breach up here and move this sight if I were hunting whitetails. So it's
usually within 40s about, that's our max really. We want to shoot at one in most situations. But
I ended up finding this sight here. It's a red line. It's a double pin sight. So
I've got that top pin. It's just like a single pin, but that's zero to 30. I'm good. I don't
have to touch anything. So for most situations with a whitetail, that's going to be awesome.
But then it's got that second pin below it and I can actually adjust that. So I just,
it's right at about 10 yards. So I'm pretty good, like zero out to 40. I'm not going to
have to touch anything. And then as I use my actual slider, that's going to be my top pin
and I can run that all the way out. I can go to a hundred and I've still got clearance.
So that's been working out pretty well, pretty locked in on that. Other than that, I've just
got some CVE, the Torx stabilizers. I'm running four ounces off the front, eight or nine off the
back, which is pretty heavy. Here, I just got a little foam mount just in case, you know,
where there's a lot of times I'm going to be hunting and Mitchell's not going to be with me.
And I can just throw my phone in there just as something else to film with. Got a Hamski peep,
run the nose button and then a Hamski rest as well. So I've been shooting this thing for a
couple of months now. I'm really, really liking it so far. And that's about it on mine. Arrow-wise,
got the Black Eagle Rampages shooting the tack vanes and a four-fletch up to 2.75s.
And Mitchell's running the same thing. He's just got Easton Axis. We just fletched these up today,
tack 2.75s and a four-fletch. Pretty well the same arrow. He just got the Eastons. I got the
Black Eagles. About identical. Broadhead-wise, I don't know. I've been known to have four or five
different broadheads in my quivers. As long as they fly good, I'll try them. But I'm really
thinking about trying those T2s out. That is what they're called, right? Yeah. And then if not that,
those Megameats were pretty solid last year. The only thing I didn't like is if we were going on
our bikes and stuff, they were getting vibrated around a lot. They were seeming to come loose.
Yeah, a little bit of rattle. But man, the devastation on those things is just unbelievable.
So we had some good luck with them. But like I said, I'm down to run anything. I could be
running a fixed blade the other time the season comes in. So you just never know. But more than
life, I'll be running a T2. That's pretty much it on mine. Well, I don't know as much about my bow,
shooting a VXR Matthews. Had it for about three years.
Haven't done nothing too special to it. Don't know the weight on my stabilizer like Casey does.
Got me a little PHP foam mount, HHA single side. That's about it on mine. I'm pulling about 65
pounds there. Like Casey said, I'm shooting Axis 340s. That's about all I can say on mine. I don't
know much about mine like Casey does. I just put that nose button on there for him today. Yeah,
Casey hooked me up with the nose button. I feel like it helps me stay more consistent there
already. All I know is I kill stuff with it. That's really all that matters. But while we're
out here to do this. Yeah, you can't see it because the camera's not zoomed in, but we got
about seven or eight deer back here behind us right now. It looks like a couple of other
bucks as well. I think three or four bucks at least. Two really good ones out there.
Get this fired up while we're shooting bows. It's hard not to. Needs to hurry.
Needs to hurry. Might see if I can zoom in on those deer for you guys maybe. We'll see here.
See them a little bit there. We got a few back there. You say I'm running now.
You got a few little bucks back there. Running towards us.
But we figured we'd give you guys a little rundown of our bow setups there.
Nothing too crazy. We're not professionals or nothing, but we'll do the best we can.
But I'm going to get back to shooting here a little bit. We're just talking about our bows
a little bit. But this is my first time actually being able to shoot this thing. I actually get
to stretch it out. We got target out as far as we can get it. I can just see the top of it.
We're right at a hundred yards here. Like I said, it's the first time I've got to shoot
this bow at a hundred. So hopefully I don't lose a couple of arrows here. I've only got six left.
All right. My sight tape might be off. Like I said, it's the first time I really stretched it
out. I put this sight tape on there. I've only shot it at like 60. I cranked it back down to 95.
So hopefully this will be on and then I'm going to have to get a new sight tape.
It looks like it's a target. It's a target. I don't really know where. We can go in there and
check it out. Well, that one ended up being money. That's what my sight tape's about.
At that distance, I don't know where it starts getting off, but that's 95 yards at a hundred.
That was pretty freaking money. Pretty good. Can't ask for much more.
I guess we're going to shoot a few more arrows before it gets dark here.
