Nike SB | Medal Madness | Carlos Ribeiro

I'm Carlos Ribeiro, I'm 32 years old, from Novo Hamburgo, Brazil. I'm currently living in Beach, California. My dad used to go to a bunch of other places, but yeah, my dad was such a big figure back then. And recently, about two years ago, MyCity paid homage to my dad, giving his name to the skate park. When I go back to that skate park, it's something that's like, I'm going to take my kids there to skate, you know, and I can tell them that that skate park is named after their grandfather, you know, so that's like very special. Ever since I moved to Cali, I make sure I come to Brazil at least once a year, usually for the holidays. And especially now that I have three kids, you know, my wife is from here as well, so it's important for us to come back to Brazil, see our family, you know, the grandparents, and so the kids see, you know, their roots, you know, see like the reality of, you know, how it is out here, like, because it's easy to get spoiled living in a bubble in Orange County, you know, and it's cool for them to see like how it is in the third world right here and, you know, see the reality. So I want to make sure they know their roots. I'm a street skater, you know, I really love street skating and I love like filming for parts, but I find joy skating competitions since I'm given the opportunity to be out there. It's fun and I feel like it adds up on my street skating as well. So with Paris coming up this year, if I get the opportunity to be out there, I'll definitely be super stoked to represent my country on the national stage.
