and after more or less an hour by
boat from San Juan making the
different stops that it makes along the
way I have arrived once again back
to pana to pana hachel and now in about
half an hour or so I'm already taking the
bus The satel that takes me to
Antigua and the price to cross the
lake in this case well from San Juan
to Panas or round trip eh
in each direction is about 25 quetzales
eh which comes to 2 and Med more or less and
and but so that you keep in mind that
here when you are foreigners they are always going to
charge you more, I don't want to think of it
as a scam for foreigners or
tourists but rather a way to leave it
cheaper to local people so
for Well, that part doesn't seem so bad to me
and apart from that the difference isn't that big,
maybe a local pays Euro and a half something
like that And you as a tourist pay 2 and a half
Well, it's not so much the problem, it's when they
see you face like
that and they raise your price even more. price

I have finally arrived It has been about 3
hours in the
van the road has been leaving the
driver was going to fire the whole part of
the mountain The curves, I mean, there were
moments when it was a bit
tight, but well, on top of that, there were some
areas that had, like, there had been
landslides and it wasn't well
paved, there was even a river passing by. Well, a
little bit of everything, very complete, but the
problem was that when you already We arrived at
the city and on the approach there was
horrible traffic and we were
stuck there for about an hour to enter the
city and well finally we have arrived the
problem is that uh today Well this
weekend we are in is the one
celebrating the flower market here,
which is a very important festival
here in Antigua where they make a lot of
floral decorations with a
specific reason and now when I
can see it I'll see what it's like and
I'll try to inform you better but the
problem is It is such a
well-known festival that it is so popular
that there is this traffic coming and going
and then the driver couldn't
even take me to the hotel so I am already
here with the two backpacks at the entrance
to the city and I am like half an
hour from my hotel So I'm going to try to
take advantage of the remaining hours of daylight
to
visit the entire center of the
flower market a little because if not I don't
think I'll have a chance tomorrow
to see something

first point of contact with Antigua
is being the less intense it is a
beautiful place a beautiful city
I will tell you a little more about the history of the
place and a little about the most
emblematic places when I have a little more
time when I can leave the backpack and
I can go a little calmer because
right now between the weight I have
of carrying the two backpacks and above all
the stress of the number and quantity of
people, it is very difficult to be able to
be like this with a A bit of tranquility
but it is very cool as it is. This
flower festival market that
I have told you about is all decorated,
especially the main avenues where
the Merced church of the Arco Santa
Catalina is, etc., the entire market,
also of La Merced, where the They
have set up a lot of
food stalls so there is a lot of atmosphere,
it's the weekend. So there is
practically all of Guatemala here but
the truth is that the atmosphere and everything is
very cool. But there are too many
people then to walk along the
main avenues. It's getting complicated,
so it's good to try to get out
of the center a little. I've already seen enough about the subject
of flowers and I'm going to try. Well, that's it. I do
n't know if I'm going to eat something or what.
I'm waiting in the afternoon. Now
Carlos will have to come. He is the friend
with whom I am going to do part of the trip
So try to wait for him somewhere
because he has already gone to the hotel where
we stayed tonight, he has already been
and he has the key So I have to
wait for him Still like that Well, I don't know
what I'm going to do since I was breaking my
back carrying both backpacks and there
was still a long way to go before
Carlos arrived. I decided to stop to eat
because on top of that I hadn't eaten anything since
8 in the morning when I had breakfast at
the hotel. Atitlán
So I stopped at the first place that I
saw that was very good. It's very good, it's not
typical food. It will arrive, but it was an
Italian called the
Italian Hunter from here from old times and it was super good.
I ordered an Alfredo pasta with
chicken I eat it on the grill and then
a panna cotta and it's all very good, the
truth is that the price is good, quite normal,
more than the local one, but it's all very delicious
and I needed it or, above all, to
rest after a while from carrying the
backpacks and such. So nothing because
Carlos is also having the same problem as me at the entrance
to the old city that there is a brutal traffic jam
so well I had to make
time so I'm just going to
the hotel to see if it's arriving and
little by little little so we are closing
today, tomorrow and the day after that will be filled with
intense days
[Music]
well finally. We have already arrived at the hotel
where we are going to stay for the
next few nights not because tomorrow
we are not going to stay here but in the
top of a volcano But it's going to be a bit of a
control point here since ancient times.
For the next ones, I think
it would be a total of three nights, excluding that one in
between, and we're staying in a little
house. We would have liked to stay
in a slightly better place. But I'll tell you
what it was like on the festival weekend,
everything is over the top and everything is super expensive, so
well, this is, uh, a house is
called a hotel. I don't know how many I forget, I
forget, mine, the inhabitants, is what it's
called and it's one, that's one. big house with
many rooms that you make your
own checkin, that is, it's all with codes
and such. And this is our room, as
you can see, very humble, it has two two
small beds here, you see, very very very
rustic here, closets and such, and a
bathroom that is shared. a bathroom that is
shared here in the hallway but
at first it seems that only we are going to
use it, I don't know, it's not bad
because in the end we are only going to use it
to sleep and shower because we are going to be
outside all day these days.
which is more than the only one that is a
little far from the center, about 15
minutes or 20 from the central point of the
main avenue, but hey, nothing happens,
we are here crossing Fifth
Avenue, which is the one I passed before the
day I was bursting with people now there
are still a lot of people but well it
has gone down a little bit and it is very
good because even the
large chain establishments like for example
Starbucks which is where we have entered
now that you are seeing here it is very
good because it has maintained the façade
maintains the same architectural style
as the rest of the avenue, which
does not clash. It does not have the
traditional colors of the brand but rather
maintains those of the traditional
colonial ones here and it looks super pretty.
The truth is that it is one of the
most beautiful Starbucks. cool that we have been above
It has many years that it is only the
façade but inside it also
has Fuentes it seems like it was in
the center of
[Music]
Rome we have now come to have dinner at a
good place that has very good
ratings called 27 inside and
we are eating here some
traditional food that we already had because there
had not been much opportunity. The truth is that
they did not offer it that much in other
places I have been so far. It
looks very good, obviously it
is already of a slightly higher level or Either this
is not where all the
people in the market that you have
seen that are full to the top are stopping, they do not come
here or that is because the prices
are no longer so local. But hey,
Carlos, who has come now because there was no I have
n't eaten all day either so I
need to eat I have eaten a couple
of hours ago so well I'm quite
served But well this way I'll also try a little bit
of local food now and we're going to
try here in concept by the way Hello
Carlos
such Carlos Well now I have told you that he will
be here with me for a few days here in
Guatemala and tomorrow we
need energy for a
rutilla that we have tomorrow is going to be
light and we are here trying Pepi, what
is it, you know, you have agreed on the song
Noe, whether it is turkey or chicken and It's a stew
exao it's like a soup with a stew this
chicken carrot has about a
few vegetables and it looks good and they
put rice over here it also has some
corn tortillas that are
below here and then they have also put us
here as an appetizer They were some
Brussels sprouts with a sauce of I don't know
what But well, it's quite delicious
But well, you see that everything is very
pretty to then justify the price a little, that
is, the place is also very
cool, you see here it has the little fountains and
such. and we are also going to try a
local beer that in fact we are no longer
drinking, which is this one here which is the
goat that is the companion of the rooster the
rooster is the most famous in principle it
is not the one served that is consumed here and
the goat is the one they
export, yes in this case ours is
a goat because there was an offer there was two
for one on goats so we have already finished
dinner we finished dinner with a
guava flan that was good It had a
very very average flavor of flan but It
was delicious and that is recommended. I have already
said that the prices are a little higher
than the average for
local food, but it was still delicious and we are going to
close on the day, which is already too late
for us. Because tomorrow we have to get
up early and we It's a
pretty powerful excursion that has already been
advanced but it's going to be a
couple of days on a volcano So we'll see
how it's going to be tough but it's definitely
worth it until
tomorrow
