This latest model comes with a refreshed exterior design, featuring a bold grille, sleek LED headlights, and an overall more dynamic road presence. Inside, it boasts advanced infotainment systems, luxurious seating options, and enhanced comfort, making it an ideal choice for families and long-distance travelers alike. Whether you're looking for power, elegance, or tech-forward conveniences, the Hyundai Alcazar delivers on all fronts.
Hyundai has recently given a facelift to Alcazar, which I have also covered.
There is a proper walkaround video on YouTube, whose link I have shared in the description, you can click on the link.
And in that, I have told you everything about the engine, what are its competition, what are its features.
Today I got to drive the car and I am going to tell you in this video, how it is to drive, how is its braking, how is the suspension and what are the other features.
Before I start the video, I'm going to be asking you to subscribe to the Park Plus channel, click the bell icon to stay updated to all the videos that we do.
Now it's time to drive this, this here is the Hyundai Alcazar, ladies and gentlemen.
If I talk about the performance, then here you get two engines in the Hyundai Alcazar, 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine and 1.5 litre naturally aspirated diesel engine.
The turbo petrol engine produces 158 bhp power and 253 Nm of torque and the diesel engine produces 113 bhp power and 250 Nm of torque.
The car I'm driving right now, that is the 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine, which has DCT.
Now if I talk about the power delivery, before that I'm going to tell you what modes you get in this.
Here you get three modes, which is your rotary knob, you can toggle it very easily on the go and it doesn't even take time to transition.
So you have eco, you have normal and you have sport, three modes.
But the best part is that you also get traction modes in this, that is again, you have to click on the rotary knob and you get snow, mud and sand, which you get three traction modes.
Now, coming back to the drive modes, eco modes, this is one of the most frugal modes.
In this, your inputs will be a little delayed, but here you can get a lot of fuel economy, it is designed for that.
Normal mode is a mode where your frugality will also be there, but there is a sense of spirited driving as well.
And then the topmost mode is the sport mode, in which you get proper Atmos power.
Now, it's a lot of fun to drive, the car picks up speed very quickly, but because it's a turbo petrol engine, there is a little lag.
But especially in the sports mode, it's very negligible.
In normal and eco mode, you can have a little problem, but otherwise, it's a hoot to drive.
And while driving, you know that this is a big car because when you take a turn on the turns, there is a bit of lugging there.
You know that it's a hefty car, but there is that because of course, there are three rows here.
And now if I talk about the suspension, so the suspension is actually quite phenomenal, it provides a very plush quality of ride.
You don't have to pay much attention to small potholes, it absorbs it with ease, you won't even know that you are going through these undulations.
And if there are very big potholes, you need to be a little careful, but otherwise, the suspension does a very fine job of absorbing and keeping the ride quality as plush as possible.
When it comes to braking, you get disc brakes in all four wheels, you have 18-inch wheels and they do a phenomenal job of dropping the anchors should the need arise.
Whenever I drive fast, I know that the brakes are actually good, it's progressive, otherwise, I think it's a very nice place to be in.
If I talk about the driving dynamics, then everything falls very intuitively.
To start with, your seating is such that you can see all the corners of the bonnet and you get a nice view from where you are sitting.
The A-pillar is also not an obstruction, it doesn't come between your peripherals or challenge your peripherals in a way that you don't know who is coming from there.
In case, if you are riding in such an environment and otherwise also, you get a nice commanding view of what is coming ahead and you have a very good idea about your corners.
In case, you are weaving through traffic or there is a tricky corner, you get stuck in a tricky situation where there are a lot of cars around, like we know, when there is traffic.
You don't need to worry about scraping the corners, also, there are parking sensors, there are sensors at the front and at the back.
So, whenever you are about to, probably, if you miss, the sensors do prompt you and there is a proper 360-degree camera that comes in handy,
which shows you properly that you are about to scrap over there or you are about to scrap over here.
So, that's a very nice feature to have, but otherwise, I think it's a brilliant car to drive, there is a lot of power and I think the front seats are also ventilated, power adjustable, there is a memory function as well.
So, when you are on those long drives or long hauls, I think this is a beautiful and comfortable place to sit in.
It obviously negates the fatigue factor, so if you are going for those long drives, I think you will not be fatigued at all,
which means that when you reach your destination, it will be a very nice and pleasant drive plus you will have the energy to explore the place further.
Let's talk about the first row of Hyundai Alcazar.
To start with, you get a 4-spoke multifunctional steering wheel right in front of you and it looks really nice, you can hold it like this
and in the middle, you get a piano black finish, it looks very nice, you also get paddle shifters and if you see at the cabin,
if I look at the front, just after the steering wheel, you will see two 10.25-inch screens infused together, which occupy almost three-fourths of the dashboard.
It looks very neat and here you get an infotainment unit and an instrument cluster together.
The infotainment unit is a touchscreen, here you get both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
And here you get a lot of features, here you get map, navigation, phone, voice over, climate control.
If I talk about climate control below, just below the infotainment unit, you get the feature of climate control,
here you get automatic climate control with dual zone climate control.
Here you get tactile buttons for temperature but not for fan, which is something that I find a little niggly worth or which I can nitpick here.
Below, you get a wireless charger, a type C port, a USB port and in between the two, you get a 12-volt socket.
This is where your gearbox sits in, so this is a DCT, this is how it looks, it's quite neat.
And just next to it, you get this rotary knob, in which you can choose drive or traction.
And here you get an electric parking brake, auto hold function, if you press this P, you get a 360-degree view of where you are standing
and how close is the environment to your car and here you also get hill descent control.
Here you get both the seats ventilated with three levels of ventilation.
Both the seats are power adjustable, 8-way power adjustable with memory function as well.
You get auto-dimming IRVMs, you also get blind spot detection on the ORVM here.
And the best part is when you are changing lanes, the video feedback comes on your instrument cluster, which is very good.
The panoramic sunroof here opens on the touch of a button.
The user interface is multilingual, meaning you can use a lot of languages here.
To be precise, you can talk in almost 10 regional languages and 2 international languages and they will respond to your commands.
If I talk about the dashboard and interiors, you get piano black inserts here.
And along with it, you get this beige color exterior, which gives a very premium look.
And it won't get dirty very soon, even if it does, you won't know, which is a nice thing.
And here you get Bose's premium sound system as a feature, which is very good.
They push out phenomenal sound quality.
Here you get a small storage space and you get bottle holders over here.
And if I talk about the screen, the screen calibration is also very good.
I can see that there is no lag at all.
See how smooth and crisp it is.
I love it.
Here you get 70 plus Blue Link features.
You just have to connect your phone to the app and you can even see the vehicle diagnostics, sports, weather, calendar.
You can share your destination with your near and dear.
That is what Blue Link does.
It's a connected feature.
You can control a lot of things in your car on your phone, which is quite nice.
And here you also get Jio Sawan.
It is already installed, pre-installed in the car, which is a nice thing to have.
And apart from that, I think the sleek AC vents will also look good on you.
It's infused into the cabin in such a way that you won't even know.
It's very nice, very carefully integrated.
It looks very sexy.
And there is a little space here.
There are also grey accents here with the AC vents, which look very good.
And overall, I think the front row is quite nice to have.
Here you get grey accents on the pull-out door handles.
And here too you get grey accents.
There is soft material on the armrest, which is nice to hold and feel.
This is your central storage space.
If you close the storage space, it doubles up as an armrest as well.
And the seating is also very good.
Here you get a little side bolstering, which keeps you in a tucked place.
You get a bucket-type feeling.
Even if you are spirited driving, it keeps you in your place.
It's quite nice to have.
Now let's go back and see what's behind.
Let's talk about Alcazar's second row.
To start with, the seat setting here is adjusted to my height.
So I am around 5 feet 10 inches.
And this has been adjusted to my seat height.
And you can see how much legroom there is here.
So this can be retracted to this space here.
You can keep your laptop here, you can keep food here, you can eat here.
And a cup holder is also given here, which is retractable, which is very cute and cool.
So this is the amount of legroom that I have, knee room that I have.
And the amount of headroom is also massive.
Even if I am 6 feet 1 inches or 2 inches, it is still enough.
The amount of headroom is massive and so is the legroom here.
So it's a very comfortable cabin to sit in.
If you feel the thigh support is less, then you can extend that as well, which is a very neat feature.
And I can show you here.
You just have to pull this and you get extended thigh support.
Your transmission tunnel is coming here, so it is a little protruded.
But if I look at the front, you get rear AC vents here.
With gray accents, you get gray accents here.
And here you get two types of charging ports.
And you also get a wireless charger at the back, which is a neat feature to have.
I feel that usually cars only have it in the front row.
Here you also get a wireless charger in the back row, which is very good.
Here you get a folding armrest.
And again, there are side bolsters.
But one of the good things about this captain seat is that you get a bolster on the side of your headrest.
So when you are on those long trips, 500, 600, 700 kilometers, you can just keep your head.
And here you get a sidewall, which helps a lot in keeping your headrest.
Usually, this is not available in cars.
So this is a very nice feature to have.
You can just sleep and doze off.
And the sidewalls take care of your head, which is very nice to have.
So I think overall, the second row is an amazing place to be.
And if you want to work here, then at the touch of a button, you can adjust the front seat as well.
At just one button.
Here you can adjust its recline rake as well as its position.
You can do it at the back as well as at the front, which is quite cool to have.
Now, we will talk about the third row experience of the Hyundai Alcazar.
Let's go.
But the things that you get over here, you get a cup holder on both sides.
So there are two cup holders.
You get a small storage space here, where you can keep your knickknacks.
And you get two type C ports here.
And just above that, you get AC vents.
And along with the AC vents, you get a rotary knob here,
with which you can adjust the air flow, the intensity of the AC.
You get adjustable headrests here and 3-point seatbelts as well.
As I said, the base variant of Hyundai Alcazar will cost you 14.99 lakhs.
And that will be petrol.
And you will get diesel for 15.99 lakhs.
What features do you get in this?
1.5 litre turbo petrol engine.
1.5 litre diesel engine, which is naturally aspirated.
Two 10.25 inch screens, which takes up three-fourths of your dash.
In which you get an infotainment unit and a touchscreen.
And you also get Blue Link connected apps.
You also get connected services.
And in the front and rear rows, you get ventilated seats and a wireless charger option.
You get a panoramic sunroof.
You get roof rails.
This car is quite feature loaded.
At the same time, in this segment, you will get to choose between Jeep Compass, Hector, Safari.
But at the same time, I think the Hyundai Alcazar will easily take you from A to B.
But its in-cabin experience is quite good for those long hauls, long drives.
It seats you very comfortably.
Especially for the first two rows.
You can seat your kids in the third row.
That is much suited for them.
But at this point, I think for 14.99 lakh rupees, the Alcazar gives you a lot of features and options.
Compared to any other car.
But you will have to wait for a proper comparison.
That's it from my side for now.
