Let's start talking about the Golden Retriever
and why I wanted to make a video about this dog
because over the years it has become a puppy
a very very very popular breed around the world
thanks to the fact that they have a very docile character
very tender and very social
Without a doubt they are puppies with a very stable temperament
they tend to be very balanced dogs most of the time
they are very loving
and they are dogs that are relatively easy to train
they also have a great characteristic
and that is that they are excellent with children
obviously remember that socialization is essential for any dog
and that's why in the first months of life
we must socialize them very well
with children and other elements or environment
but the Golden is usually a very receptive dog
that gets along very well with children
so it is an excellent puppy for a house where there are children
The Golden is usually a very loving dog
very calm
and it has a particularity
and that is that it tends to be a dog that is easy to train
because they are very intelligent
and they are very receptive
they are dogs and they are a very complacent breed
that is to say that they enjoy pleasing their tutors
their humans
they like to learn
so it is much easier to train them
unlike other breeds that are not so complacent
or they don't like to learn so much
or be so receptive
so they can be a little more stubborn
The Golden is a dog that will be happy to learn new tricks
commands and orders
always in a positive and good way
The Golden Retriever is a dog that is very playful
in many stages of his life
and this is something that we must keep in mind
because in my experience as a veterinarian
I have several Golden Retriever patients
and I would dare to say that
it is one of the breeds
that in its adult age
is more balanced and calm
but that in the first year of life
they are very very difficult
they are a little stubborn
they are restless
they are very playful
they are very bitey
and this is something we must know
because an adult dog does not become an adult by magic
we have to go through a period of youth
where they are puppies
where they are very restless, very bitey
and the Golden Retriever
I think it takes the prize
to be one of the most restless dogs
in the first year of life
they are dogs that have a lot of energy
both the females and the males
they tend to be too playful
so we must keep this in mind
because probably in the first months
and the first year of life
if you have a Golden
you will have to spend a lot of time
to train it
to teach it new commands and orders
so that it can be a balanced
and obedient puppy
when they reach adulthood
the Golden is a very calm dog
even in some occasions
it can be a little more sedentary
as it grows older
but without a doubt it is a playful dog
in any stage of its life
so it is essential to have some basic commands
to have some commands and tricks
to educate our puppy
so that it can be very balanced
in its adulthood
the Golden Retriever is an excellent dog
that has been used around the world
for assisted therapies
for assisted intervention
we can see that the Golden
is a breed that is used a lot
to assist people with disabilities
so they are dogs
that like to help, to learn
and to accompany
so that is one of the characteristics
that attracts our attention
and that is why it is one of the most popular breeds
around the world
the Golden Retriever is a medium-sized dog
big, it is a dog that needs
physical exercise daily
they have a very beautiful
particularity and that is that
they are charging dogs
that is to say that their ancestors
and before were dogs
used to charge prey
that is to say, when they went hunting
with their tutors
their masters
and their tutor hunted a prey
for example, a bird
the Golden was the one in charge
of charging and collecting that prey
in its mouth
so the Golden has a need
to have things in its mouth
it loves balls, toys
all the fluffy things
or soft things, it loves to have them
in its mouth, that is why it is an ancestor
likewise, this condition
of being charging dogs
made them very delicate with their prey
because the goal was not to kill the prey
nor to destroy them
nor to deteriorate them
but simply to take them to their owner
so they took the prey
with a lot of delicacy
and took it to its tutor
so you will realize that the Golden
loves to have things in its mouth
and also this condition
of charging dogs
happened a lot in the water
so let's go back to the same example
when a hunter
knocked down a prey, a bird
and for example it fell in the water
the Golden was the one in charge
of going to collect or charge
that prey swimming
and taking the prey delicately
and taking it to its tutor
so they are also animals
that by excellence are great swimmers
they enjoy the water a lot
they love the water
they love to be wet
and you will realize that
if there is a river, a pool or the sea
the Golden will be the first to be introduced
so it is an innate ability
and a necessity
in them
to be in contact with the water
so many people will say
I want a Golden but I don't want it to get into the water
and even though we can get it used
since it was a baby
to not get into the water
whenever it sees a pool or a river
believe me it will be a little difficult
because it is in its nature
to want to be wet
and to be in contact with the water constantly
this is a breed that has
a medium maintenance
and I talk about maintenance
when I refer to everything we have to do
for its health
in terms of brushing the Golden
we can see that one of its characteristics
is its beautiful golden hair
so we must brush it constantly
at least 2 or 3 times a week
we must brush it
to avoid knots, dermatological conditions
and to maintain those characteristics
it is also a dog
that we must take care of
overweight or obesity
because it is one of the conditions
that they suffer the most
it is a dog that can easily gain weight
and this can bring us other problems
so we have to be very careful
with the diet and the physical exercise
that your hair has
the Golden tends to be a very healthy dog
it even has a life expectancy
and it is a very long-lived dog
it can last from 12 to 14 years
it is a dog that has a high life expectancy
considering that it is a big medium dog
the bigger the dogs
the less time they will last
but the Golden without a doubt
is a dog that tends to be very healthy
throughout its life
some predispositions that it has
and that it is essential to know them
since they are puppies
number 1 we have the hip dysplasia
and the elbow dysplasia
they are very frequent
joint alterations in the Golden
so my recommendation
is that since it is a puppy
you can discard these conditions
in your hair through radiography
of hip and elbow
to identify that it does not have this pathology
because it is a pathology
that develops since they are babies
and it can be inherited
from the mother or the father
to the puppies
so we are going to identify it from very early ages
and in case your puppy suffers this disease
we can start with some care
and with some supplements
also the Golden have a predisposition
to suffer from cancer
unfortunately
it is one of the number 1 causes of death
around the world
in the Golden
so you have to be very careful with your diet
with your care
to be able to prevent this disease in time
and additionally to make an appropriate diagnosis
so any abnormality
any mass or tumor
that you feel in your Golden
it is important to go to your vet
and we also have the eye problems
the Golden can suffer from cataracts
or problems in the retina
they can lose their vision
as their age increases
so it is important to be very attentive
to any change in the eyes of your Golden
because they have that predisposition
also to suffer from this condition
as you can realize
the Golden is a very loving dog
very balanced
remember that everything also depends on education
and socialization
but without a doubt
it will be a great option for your family
to accompany children
families, people
both sedentary and very active
because the Golden
is a dog that adapts very well
to many environments and spaces
you can have it from a small apartment
as long as it has
daily physical exercise
and daily mental activity
as well as you can have it in a house
in a very large environment
and it will also be very happy
remember that it also depends on the care you give it
the education you give it
and all the time and love you dedicate to it
so I hope you liked this video
