Chair Gina Swoboda joins Mark Halperin on Newsmax to discuss the state of the race in Arizona.
"We've made our system as secure as possible and as long as our people come out and vote, we're gonna bring it home!" 🇺🇸
Great to see you, Gina.
Question for you, so less than a month ago,
Trump is heading to Arizona Sunday.
He's got a big rally planned there.
Biden won Arizona by 10,457 votes in 2020.
It was as close as it can be.
Are you concerned about illegals voting in this election?
I am always focused on election security.
I'm an election officer here,
and I used to work at the SOS.
I was the director of election operations
for President Trump in 20.
So I keenly feel the 10,457 vote margin.
That being said, we have an amazing team.
We've done a tremendous amount of groundwork
to make sure we all know what the rules are going in.
It's not gonna be like 20,
where they change the rules of the engagement
while we're on the field, right?
So I feel very confident.
We've made the system as secure as it can be.
And as long as our people come out and vote,
we're gonna bring it home.
Yeah, Gina, I like it.
I love the platitudes, but just the question.
Do illegals vote in this election?
Well, it's nuanced, Rob.
So there's a Supreme Court precedent that says
if you have not provided documented proof of citizenship
in the state of Arizona,
but you check a box that attests that you're a citizen,
you get to be a federal-only voter.
So that's the state of the law.
If people are attesting that they are citizens,
then they are gonna get a federal-only ballot.
So that's a yes.
Is it safe to say yes, you are concerned about this?
I prefer to have documented proof of citizenship
for everyone, but that's not the law.
So I'm not gonna say I'm not concerned.
I'm gonna say that it is as secure as we can make it
under that Supreme Court ruling.
And I am very confident that the turnout
that we're gonna have is gonna erase any margin
or irregularity that we might encounter.
