FAV spot & about LONELINESS || Vlog 61|| Hot Springs Waterfall, Salto Malacatiupan, El Salvador

Hello and welcome back to the vlog. Today I'm in, well you know it, El Salvador. And before I leave here I had to check out this very cool place down the road. And I gotta tell you, people ask me all the time what my favorite places have been. And today might just be one of my top three. I'm also gonna answer another question I get all the time. And that question is, do I ever get lonely? So you'll have to wait to hear. And if you're new to the vlog, well I tell stories of my life living and traveling on a motorcycle with the big dream to ride around the Oh, there it is. I just passed it. Okay, all parked here. And not too many people it seems. I'm gonna head this way into the waterfall. Looks like they're not too far of a walk from the parking lot. I already see the water. I just realized I forgot my towel. Damn it. I'm here. So let me tell you why this place is so cool. Oh, I feel the heat already. I'm this close and I feel the heat. Yep, I said heat as in hot water. Oh, it's pretty. I like it a lot. This place is not only a hot springs, but a hot springs waterfall. I've literally seen nothing like it. But first, let's explore the area. So this area you can definitely swim. There's some people, most people are swimming. And oh man, I haven't even felt the water yet. It feels like a hot bath, literally. A hot bath. It's very warm. My guess would be like 85 degrees. Feels way hotter than like a heated pool. So I don't know if I should explore more that way or go right try and figure out how to get to the falls. It's really nice here because it's shaded and there's a breeze. Water's so warm that like the warmth comes out from the water, but there's a breeze. It's really nice. I mean this looks like such a nice spot to swim. Look, I'm too deep. You can see it's pretty much to the bottom. There's a little current. There's so many good spots to swim. So now I'll head to the big waterfall. It's really nice. So I think it's the slippery route. Let me even see if I can go down there. Look, I almost slipped. So I happened to meet Fernando who also happens to be a YouTube vlogger. And the cute funny thing is that you can see this very moment on his vlog too. Are you liking it? I love it. Fernando makes vlogs of his adventures all throughout El Salvador. So you should go follow him too. And if it wasn't for Fernando and friends, I don't think I would do what I'm about to do. Okay, I'm going to video you. It's really muddy and slippery there. Fernando's asking me if I'm going to jump. Okay, I think I'm going to do it. I think it's pretty muddy. It's really hot. Okay, it's either jump from here, here, here, or there. How many feet it is? I'm not very good at that, but I'm going to guess 25 feet. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that'd be great. So about that second question, I often get asked, do I ever get lonely traveling alone in different countries? And well, there's two parts to my answer. First is the simple one. The truth is that while I travel solo, I am rarely alone. The beautiful thing about solo travel is that you are very approachable. And if you're open to it, people would love to talk to you. In countries like El Salvador, the people are so, so welcoming and kind and generous to foreigners. Just like my experience today, the ever so endearing Fernando and his lovable friends took me in, like I was just one of the crew. And there is no word to describe how good this made me feel. If I wasn't traveling alone, I wouldn't get to experience how beautiful it feels for people to welcome and accept me. There's a bunch of slugs on all of us, like little miniature slugs. So if you're like one of the many people who have shared with me that the fear of loneliness has stopped you from traveling solo, you must know that if you stay open, even as a solo traveler, you really won't be so alone. Now I still have the second part of my answer to share, because there is a deeper truth about loneliness. You see, I have experienced loneliness, but what I have learned from being a solo traveler is that loneliness has nothing to do with being alone. Loneliness is only a product of the mind and not circumstance. I've only ever felt lonely when I've found myself in a low emotional state and my mind runs a story. We do not feel lonely because we are alone. We feel lonely because we are believing a story from our mind. So take it from me, a solo traveler, that you really don't need to fear loneliness. You just need to become aware of the stories in your mind. Alrighty, I'm meeting that whole crew of amazing people. I love it so much.
