With everything going on in the world, I have been feeling a bit blue. I decided to take the plunge and take a flight with my two toddler boys all alone during a global pandemic! not the smartest thing I could have done, but sometimes you have to weigh the risk-benefits! and the benefits really out weighed the risks :) Here, I will share tips on what its like flying alone with multiple kids
Hello my cool cats! It has been such a long time since we posted a video,
but we are back, better than ever, and we'll start posting weekly uploads every Tuesday.
Right? This is where the lens is. Here, to this. Say hi! Who's that?
Aizen? Wow. Even though this is Enzo. And this is Aizen.
To give a little background information, I recently moved to North Carolina. All my
family is in Florida. I literally fly to Florida alone with the boys so often,
it is kind of ridiculous. The boys are still under the age of two, so they technically fly free,
but I do purchase an additional seat considering that there's two of them and only one of me. So,
every single time that I've flown, it has been a completely different experience. As they get
older, their needs change. So, in this video, you'll kind of see tips for kids that are around
one and a half years old, but I also have, okay, footage of when the boys were months old,
and I also flew alone with them. So, the experience is completely different,
but it is definitely doable. Without further ado, let's just get started! Yay! Can we salta?
Hello! Yay! We're in the parking garage of the airport. We just arrived for the second time
today. Believe it or not, we missed our flight. I have only missed one flight and that was
my honeymoon, believe it or not. So, today I'm going to be vlogging traveling alone
with the boys, and they already kind of had to go around, like,
at the airport earlier today, so they're very calm. We've got Alejandra.
Alejandra with the car seats. They're bigger than me. So, for this flight, this is going to be the
very first flight that we have, like, the bigger car seats. So, I'm going to be checking both of
them, which I'm kind of friend of. So, one of the boys is a lap infant and the other one has his own
seat. So, that's the plan. I do recommend, though, like, if you can bring a car seat on the plane,
bring it. Wow!
The first step in any trip is actually booking your flight. So, I've heard a lot of YouTubers
state that booking the flight during your baby's nap would be the best way to go.
However, I'm totally going to have to disagree with that when it comes to one-and-a-half-year-olds.
If you have a baby baby, I totally understand that because then the baby could sleep on your lap,
can sleep on the car seat, good things like that. Since then, I found that the best time to fly is
very early in the morning. I'm talking 6, 7 a.m. flights. The boys have just woken up,
they're fed, in a great mood, and nothing can go wrong, right?
The first thing we do when we enter the airport is head to the check-in desk. I
checked both the car seats, which are always free because they're assistive devices.
Say hi! It's funny how their hair can never be brushed. Like, I brushed it before we left.
And like I mentioned, this is going to be the first time I fly without the car seats
on the plane. Of course, this is all a preference. If you can bring the car seats on the plane,
totally recommend it. I'm also going to be checking their pack-and-play, which was $30.
Sometimes they forget to charge you for that one. And then some bags as well. So cute!
Going through security is possibly the scariest and hardest part of flying alone with an infant.
However, I've got a golden tip for you. If you are in true need of help and are traveling alone
with multiple infants, ask the person in the check-in desk if they can give you a pass for
someone to accompany you through security and help you throughout the way. I'm telling you guys,
every single time that I've asked, they've always said yes, and I've never declined a
little help. In the case they do say no, no need to fret. There have been many cases where I just
didn't have anyone to help me and I had to handle security on my own. I always just place the bags
on the x-ray machine first, then pick up both the boys to go through the middle detector.
Other than them stopping me for the milk, always. They always stop me for that.
Just try to keep your composure, focus at the task at hand, and you'll be okay.
They're so cute. They're like looking at everyone. What's wrong Enzo? You're stressed?
Now that I pass security, we make sure we find our gate and gate check our wagon slash stroller.
I do this so that I'm able to keep the wagon throughout the whole airport,
and they hand it to me once the plane lands. Where are we? Can you say hi?
It has poopoo on it.
So now we're gonna change their diapers. I recommend bringing a wee-wee pad so that
your children aren't laying in previous belts, but we aren't so lucky. Oh wait, we can use this.
Liners. Yeah, bed liners. Open it up. Show them how it's done.
Nice. That's like half their size, but we're gonna make it work.
Look at him. He's saying water. He wants water. Let's get him some.
I actually do not like to change diapers during the flight, so let's hope that there are no
accidents. The next tip is to just drop the toys and bring a crazy amount of snacks for your little
one. Let me tell you, the most entertaining thing for your one-and-a-half-year-old is to just eat a
bunch of snacks. I'm talking those sugar-filled yogurt drops, those little puff snacks, all the
snacks that you would never actually give your baby on a daily basis. Yeah, grab those and get
on your flight. Whenever the boys started getting a bit fussy, I just gave them a new snack and it
kept them calm and collected, so it was definitely worth it. Once they got home, they ate their big
meal, so not too detrimental.
I don't know if they're tired or playing peek-a-boo.
Where's Hakura?
Once it's time to board the plane, I do like to board early since I do have
such a large load, so if the staff are willing to help, they usually just take my carry-on bags
and I just tell them to put it wherever on the plane because I'll get it back eventually, right?
Now that the boys can walk, this part was significantly easier since the boys just
walked down the aisle holding my hands while I just held the diaper bag and my personal bag,
so if I were to have the car seat, this part would have been extremely more difficult. I would have
had to given a baby probably to a flight attendant to hold, which isn't my favorite thing, but if I
had to do it, I would have done it, of course. For take-off, Enzo was my lap infant and Aizen
had his own seat. He was honestly such a good boy and stayed seated the whole time. Of course,
once we were given the okay to unbuckle the boys, we were like on the move. They were running all
over the place. All in all, they handled themselves excellently and I really can't complain.
Aizen started playing with their Love Every Clip toy while Enzo found a good read.
Aizen also made a friend with the passenger behind us, which was a really sweet moment.
Thank you guys so much for watching. Make sure to stay tuned for our weekly videos that will
be up every single Tuesday. Love you, my cool cats. Have a wonderful day.
