"Sara & Brandon’s Big Sur Elopement was a finalist for the Love Stories TV Wedding Film Awards , so I think it’s time I share their magical film with you all—
A day that encapsulated all that Big Sur has to offer.
Seriously though… You’re going to wonder how we got all of this in one day (+ their day before shoot where we set intentions together) and tbh I still feel baffled watching it and seeing all of the elements that were present
The stillness of the trees The trickle of subtle streams The marine layer that made it’s presence at the perfect time for their drive up the coast in a vintage convertible Powerful wind Soft sunsets Vibrant Sunsets Peaceful ocean waves Birds singing and soaring over the vastness & The light of the moon
These elements welcomed Sara, Brandon and their closest family and friends to witness their magic and create a day in which everything worked together for good
To celebrate two humans so aligned and in tune with one another.
Side note— I worked on this film while staying at my grandma’s and she got to look over my shoulder every so often while I was editing and I got to explain to her more about my process and what I do. I will forever hold those memories so dear. She helped me decide on the song that played during their vintage drive up the coast, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
I hope you feel the magic of their day, their love, and their being
Also the intro is a bit more stylistic than I normally do, which was fun to mess around with. I wanted you to be fully immersed in the wind right from the start. It was such a presence on their day, that as the viewer, it was important that you heard and experienced it from the beginning.
With love, Mads "
Good evening. Welcome friends and family who've journeyed here for Brandon and Sarah's special day.
We're all honored to be here and be witnesses to something supernatural.
For love is the most powerful force in the universe. God himself said he is love. It is
the kind of love that we're all here to witness through these elements that she's up here with
Brandon. We both knew right away that this was something special and so divine. God continued
to show us that in ways that are indescribable. Like he orchestrated us to meet, to conduct a
love song that goes on until the end of time. They say time stops when two lovers kiss.
I believe the world stood still to bring our lips together in 2020, two years ago.
You ready? Mm-hmm. It feels so right. It's crazy. Sarah, there are truly no
written words to describe the reverence I feel with you in my life. You ready? Yeah. Okay.
We're outside. Hi!
Because of you I am a better lover, I am a better friend,
and I am a better man. The truth is you are everything I didn't know I needed
and there's nothing more beautiful than watching you effortlessly become
the very thing you were made to become. What are your intentions for tomorrow?
To be connected to our spirits and just be our authentic selves and honor just God through the
whole thing. Just have like a lens of grace to see things through, you know? Enjoying every moment,
soaking in God's creation, and just being full of gratitude the whole day.
All right, so beautiful. Jesus, thank you for these two. Thank you for the family. Thank you
for the friends. And on this special day, we just ask your blessing on these two,
and on this ceremony, and on this marriage going forward.
Before God and his beautiful creation, I promise to fall even more in love with you each and every
day, to encourage your gifts and dreams, and to always keep our faith the foundation of our
relationship.
So here's my promise to you. I vow to always put God first and to do my best to walk from faith,
truth, and love, to see, understand, and support every part of you
and who you're becoming, to be your biggest advocate, and to reflect back the pureness
of your heart and the beauty of your spirit, especially when you don't see it. And as Ephesians
4 states, to make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace,
not only in sickness and health, but in darkness and light, and every season of life.
All right, Brandon and Sarah, having heard you make these pledges of affection and vows of fidelity,
I do, by the authority vested in me by God and this state, pronounce you husband and wife.
You may kiss the bride. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. and Mrs. Brandon and Sarah Kirchey.
Congratulations, you did it!
You truly bring out the wonder in this world. You have taught me to be present, to count the stars,
to notice the gradients of colors in the sunset, to listen to the birds sing. You have shown me
a love that is pure, magical, and everlasting. You are my best friend, my soulmate, my angel on earth.
I will love you for an eternity, Brandon Lee.
