Hey guys, it's Beth. Today I'll be using these wooden boxes from Michaels to make a really cute lantern.
Added some spackling in the holes and let those sit to dry.
I then took these dowels from Dollar Tree. They come in a pack of two.
I measured four pieces at seven inches and used my pruning shears to cut those down
and then sanded off the edges where I cut them.
Next, I sanded down the spackling off those boxes from Michaels.
These measure about five by five.
And I took both of those boxes and painted them with Parisian Gray chalk paint
and I gave them two coats.
I also painted this wooden plaque from Hobby Lobby. It's about four inches. I painted
that just on the top. I didn't paint the bottom.
I painted the four dowels from Dollar Tree and this wooden dowel cap from Hobby Lobby.
One of the boxes from Michaels on the top of it,
technically the bottom of the box, I did not paint where the little plaque is going to go.
Made sure everything was dry.
Took the wooden plaque, used hot glue and wood glue
on the bottom of that plaque and then placed it down on the box that I did not paint the center on.
And then took the dowel cap, hot glued that to the center of the plaque.
In the other box from Michaels,
I flipped it over
and added wood glue to the four corners.
Placed down my dowels
and then used painter's tape to hold the dowels into place while the glue dries.
And then put wood glue on the top of each of the dowels
and added on the second box with the plaque and dowel cap on the top.
I had also painted four round beads that I wanted to glue onto the bottom and I forgot to do it.
So I let it dry for about an hour
and then I removed the tape
and then flipped it on its side and hot glued.
I had also painted those with the same chalk paint
and these came from Dollar Tree.
And that is it for this project. Thank you guys so much for watching.
