Portugal vs Poland 3-1 - All Goals & Highlights - 2024

needs must and they will I'm sure look to spend much of the time North Macedonia don't behave how we expect them to it's a teasing cross an inviting killer against Turkey but then they let it go in the second space momentarily closed there is the foul from Odeimi just to stop Portugal in their tracks and of course Jota wants a yellow card slight smile from Anthony Taylor he knows that's one aside now Odeimi just gave that one now they're looking to get on the front foot as Danilo slides in but similar delivery similar finds Fernandes wasn't the best of his options that he had actually Bruno Fernandes Xiao Cancelo can certainly be the key player today he's brilliant down that right here it's into Odeimi provides a good block it's through for Cristiano Ronaldo first side of goal but not the finish he was looking for they were expecting the crowd on their feet he can do that but not this time then he finds a good position in behind Pelkovsky for once his technique let him down he has a little look across at the assistant referee certainly wasn't offside I think he's undecided whether to go with his laces or to go with the inside of his foot in the end he does need and the support from left back is deflected and that's promising for North Macedonia Alyoski we know can attack really well and he's at Bardi to deliver a teasing one but not quite Alyoski who goes for it was ambitious but why not from that kind of wedge could he have brought it down and had an even better shot but I think it's a good start by North Macedonia that's a cross from very very deep Pejota who does get in behind but immediately Muslim manages to get between right back and centre high on that far post area Pejota is in there and up and over it goes big chance Pejota he knows it as well he's up against the captain he gives him a little shove it's a good bit of play to find the space Pejota but once he gets there he's got to head that on target let off for North Macedonia there's a little shove they do find Fernandez and again short for a deeper cross Danilo lurking poor boys have been trapped found Fernandez he found Ronaldo and Fernandez finds the back of the net first blood to Portugal and a huge goal it could be North Macedonia who worked so hard have let Portugal in the backdoor what's a big big goal from Bruno Fernandez and the Dragao comes alive well there's a massive mistake here by North Macedonia cross field pass intercepted by that man they just worked so hard to win the ball back as you mentioned and then the captain of all people Stefan Rostovski plays it square from that moment on they were in trouble little nutmeg from Ronaldo that's a good finish used the inside of his right boot passed it into the corner a goal himself at times he's going to try and hang on Salah manages to scoop it Marista this time they've gone long for Ronaldo he succeeded in cutting that one off and Jota waiting at the far post it very nearly bounced for Jota he couldn't control the follow up well when we see this again I'm not quite sure why the goalkeeper just doesn't dive on that but what a pass this is from Pepe Ronaldo makes the right run he's onside he gets in behind the fullback just here goalkeeper looks how he can get there leaves it for the defender who doesn't get the right clearance in and once it does fall for Jota probably should do better neat little interchange and they'll have to settle managed to get it away this time it's more orthodox one Elioski gets his head on it and a left footed shot his cross that looks to find Traikovski and here is he's up from left back but he's scooped ominously on the left but he's popped up everywhere at the moment that one doesn't quite to the first half that's a teasing cross from Elioski as well distant and has not been involved in this game really at all no foul here's the goal scorer it's the first real save that Dimitrijov and that means Rostovski is coming forward here can they produce a decent effort and Amy beaten to about whatever happens they have put themselves properly and you hide on that one trying to squeeze away he's done well Fernandes again to settle Fernandes delivery Australian offense Bernardo Silva Fernandes and one for Ronaldo who had to do options they've gone early for Fernandes Bruno Fernandes at the double and maybe that is just enough to take Portugal all the way it's a brilliant ball to find him and Portugal have a two goal lead is this the end of North Macedonia's dream well you said it brilliant ball played in but what a finish as well on the volley the timing of the run looks as though it was right and it all started with that tackle there by Pepe the veteran oh he's onside when the ball is played there and this pass is inch perfect onside again and look at this for a finish is it just on the volley or the half volley oh in between the two but that is an absolutely brilliant once he puts in his body oh just needed a touch in it little dink there Jota to try and find Ronaldo Bruno Fernandes has given that plenty of height this is Fernandes can they finish it what a challenge from Velkovski he shouts for offside but it's a brilliant sliding intervention brilliant from him but there will be a penalty check the other end maybe a couple Ronaldo was offside Bruno Fernandes wasn't one for sure here come Portugal again with Ronaldo lurking double kill triple kill quadra kill dominating
