Moving into a 240square foot RV, we knew to fit everything we needed and wanted for cooking with limited kitchen storage, we would needed to get creative.
Hope you have a great day!
ABOUT US Bang family here! Jake, Kelsey, and our beautiful twin daughters Scout and Davey. And let’s not forget our favorite pup Zeke! Growing up Kelsey loved documenting life and making videos with friends. She has carried on the tradition by documenting our everyday family adventures. We recently sold and got rid of EVERYTHING WE OWN to take a big adventure! We hope to someday be living on a Catamaran, but until then…(while we wait for the economy and market to calm down..) come join us as we live and travel full time in our 30ft Airstream. We are newbies to this more minimal lifestyle and traveling full time. Come hang with the Bangs as we share our everyday adventures, what we learn, the highs and lows and more. Thanks for stopping by and being part of the fam!
When we were moving into an RV we knew that we would only have a few places for
storage in our kitchen. So we're going to show you our favorite
kitchen gadgets and things that have made living in our RV kitchen much
easier. Things like collapsible items. This is
for our dishes but it's nice it has a little spout that
comes out and you can drain the water right into the sink.
But with a whole family sometimes if we don't get around to the dishes
they end up sitting there and then we just use a towel at that point.
But if we're doing dishes after every meal this is a great option.
In our microwave we also use it to store a few things
and this is our, if I can get it to pop all the way out,
our microwave cover as well as like our noodle strainer.
So it's nice to be able to have some items that you can use for multiple
things. My mom gave this to us when we were in a
regular home and we loved it so much we brought it
with us and it's perfect because it collapses. But it's a popcorn maker
After you make the popcorn you can use this as your popcorn bowl.
What do you love to eat every day? Toast. We do. We have a big toast lover
and I knew we didn't have room for a traditional toaster
but we found a one slice toaster. I want to toast after this. Yeah can I
make you a slice? Yeah. You pull this part down
it pops up. Pretty cool. And you see it's hard
you're going to do both of it. Up here we also have
our small crock pot. We use a crock pot all the time and that was one thing that
I just knew I couldn't live without was our crock
pot. So we ended up getting rid of our really big one but we surprisingly have
made quite a few meals in here that have
like a good six people when we've had guests over. This
is our cute mini toaster but the nice thing about it
is we like to celebrate holidays and it has rotating plates that you can
use that have you know your pumpkin your
Christmas tree and some of those things so we can have
fun waffles in a less condensed space. We used to have a Vitamix but it just
there's not enough room in here for it but Jake did some research and found
this one that holds 32 ounces in it and it also
has this capability so lots of cords so if you have your protein shakes or
things like that you can also do that which is pretty cool. Yeah see how small
that is? Okay yeah and in here
running low on our bags we use these all the time just an awesome divider so we
can easily grab bags and then we don't have to use drawer
space for them to be in because we don't have it. Stackable bowls
but I wanted to find ones that we could use like for lots of different
things and so I wanted ones with a pour spout
which I thought would be really good and these all also have
lids on them so if I cut up like a watermelon or fruit or something like
that we can stick this in the fridge. Pots and
pans. This is something that's pretty cool is
the there's no handles so these are awesome. The only thing is I wish I
would have ordered a different color because these get really grimy super
easy. Here's a stained one so I just
wouldn't recommend this color and I wish they would have made these
handles in a better material. They can't handle heat which is
funny because it's a pot. Besides that they've been non-stick and they've been
great but these just clip right on. It's nice
because then you can have we can have a couple different pots
but it's also great not having the handles because sometimes
we don't have space for the handles and I also don't want handles in the walkway
because if kids are walking by or dog or things like that
I want to make sure that nothing's going to get spilt or
burn anyone. So these are liners that go in between the
pots and pans. What kind of material is it? It's kind of just like a fabric. I mean you
literally could make your own or put paper towels or things like that
but it's just so your pots and pans don't get banged up.
Yeah we used to have really nice pots and pans and so you just I didn't want
them to get scratched or anything like that and so these just
work really good. These are pretty inexpensive. I think it was like
60 bucks for everything. It doesn't matter if they get banged up or ruined
but when we're driving I just didn't want everything rattling.
Anything with lids is honestly just super helpful.
These can go they're glass pyrexes but luckily
we've only had one break over time but they've done really well but we can use
these in the oven for baking our salmon and fish and
other items but it's just nice because if we
bake a cake or whatever there's a lid for it and
just makes it easy and then they also just stack nicely in each other.
So I just feel like when you're in an RV or when you're in a tiny space
you just have to be creative with what's important to you,
what you use all the time and can I use it for multiple things
and if not then you have to really think is this something I really really want
like our tea kettle. We love baking tea and so that was something we knew we
wanted but we were able to find space saving
items in other areas so we could have it. I've always wanted
to do this and it's funny it took us living in an RV for me to actually do it
but mashing spices. Look how cute they look
and we're actually out of the black pepper so I need to refill that
but it just helps for everything to just fit really nice and easy and
I actually brought an extra one and we haven't needed to use it.
We've gotten really minimal on our spices but it just helps for everything
to fit and to make it easy to grab and look nice
and then I also keep a lot of things in our drawers and containers because when
we're traveling I don't want things shifting and moving
around and because these are glass if anything happens to break
it's in a contained space but I mean we've been on the road for
11 months now and no problems. A lot of RV sites have fire pits which
is awesome because s'mores these are the best because they
just fold in and they work awesome for hot dogs and
marshmallows and you know all the good stuff and then
you can also lay your graham cracker and melt the chocolate on it but
what's it what's the secret for keeping them clean after roasting s'mores
don't burn them yeah do not burn off the marshmallow that makes it harder to
clean yeah but these work awesome we have four
in here these are just great and compact and
we're planning on sharing this one but having these are really great for if you
have like powders and drinks and stuff it's just a quick if you don't want to
get out your blender these are really awesome little can
last up is our fridge dividers so these are the best ever we have one
for eggs and then snacks and all different kinds of things
apples but these are the best because when you're driving
and your fridge is empty and you have like
a glass jar of pickles in here you don't want it to break so it's nice
because then you can put the pickles in here and like secure it down with some
things so it's nice just to be able to make
your fridge organized but also when you're traveling and on the go
not have things get ruined so many gadgets and tools you can get in the
kitchen but these are just a few that have helped
us maximize our space that we feel are worthwhile on sharing
