Meet Tori! A former puppy mill mama looking for a forever family

all right time now for this week's shelter me today we're featuring an incredibly sweet yellow lab with a very sad story no we need to turn things around for her Riley's rescue saved Tori from a puppy mill where she spent her entire life in a crate CES tinan has more on the type of family that Tori is looking for for this week shelter me we have Ang lefon from Riley's rescue returning thank you thank you for having us and this beautiful mama this is Tori tell me about her so Tori is a three-year-old yellow lab who was a puppy mail mom so she spent her entire life in a crate just breeding and having puppies until they didn't want her anymore um she's awesome with other dogs she's great with all people kids um she should go to a home with another dog for sure um a a backyard is is great it's a plus but not a must um but as long as she gets enough exercise that's all we care about she's she's a little big right so she needs to trim to lose a few L beautiful though so I I think a lot of people don't understand the puppy meals and why you shouldn't you shouldn't adopt an animal for so so when when you support puppy mills um the moms and the dads live their entire lives in a crate so they're not out in experiencing what normal dogs do they're not out in a yard they're not living in a home they have no love no affection so when they leave they don't really know how to be a dog so it's really important for them to have another Resident dog to show them the way most of the time it's like 90% of time they cannot exist without another Resident dog to show them they need to learn how to play they do they need to they need to learn everything about being a dog yeah and you you have you have several puppy mill dogs right yes we have lots of puppy mill dogs um right now in foster care we always have more coming in every week so we try to get them out whenever we can and get them a good home yeah so what should a viewer do if they fall in love with Tori and I maybe I maybe doing that and they want to adopt her so they can go to our website at Riley rescue.org which is r y l i s rescue with a Y and there's an application on our website and they can fill it out and then we'll be in touch all right we're going to find you home you beautiful girl you beautiful [Music] girl a she just looks so sweet and calm she's going to find one if you'd like to adopt Tori head to 6abc.com shelter me to connect with Riley's rescue that's also where you can find information about the other adoptable animals that we featured right here on shelter me
