And opening this group, Konstantin Supotishvili.
The 16-year-old is 12th after the short program,
and he will skate to music from the Airbender Suite.
Konstantin Supotishvili reacting to a free skate
that had more mistakes than he has previously delivered
when he competed last year at the Winter Youth Olympic Games,
finishing in 11th place there.
And he did acknowledge the injury concerns were there,
but he felt ready to perform.
And sometimes, perhaps, even if you feel ready,
the injury niggles might rear their head a little bit more
under the pressure of competition,
and it might have been more of a factor
in preventing him from giving a cleaner skate here.
Yeah, and also, whatever your personal expectation is,
is it realistic to where you're at,
whether there's an injury or not?
Because if it's not, you know, accurate,
then you're going to be disappointed most of the time, right?
Right, and so you've got to put in perspective
where you're at at that moment to say,
OK, look, I'm not expecting a perfect program
with all these triple jumps,
but I am expecting myself to do the base of this and that
so that you can keep it reasonable
and keep your expectations manageable.
But it's hard to measure the heart and mind in a skater
because you don't know what's going on
unless they tell you.
Yeah, and as we see, the triple-double combinations,
it's probably poignant to acknowledge
that Constantin has delivered triple axels in the past,
and the first jumping pass was a double.
It looked like an intentional double,
but knowing that he's done the triple axel
confidently and comfortably in the past
suggests that he's just not in a place at time
at the moment where he's ready to deliver
what he's done in the past.
So that's where the internationals that we discussed
will be the testing ground to return to that.
Yeah, his head may be where he wants it to be,
but his body may not be there yet.
Well, let's take a look at the scores.
92.22 for Constantin Tsipitashvili in Georgia.
That is second in the free program with a 148.62,
as he'll take over that second position overall,
at least at this stage of the competition.
There are your top five skaters so far in the event.
