When you're coming to Paris, chances are you know the sites that you want to see,
but the question is, how are you going to get around? Like, what's the most cost-effective,
the safest, the fastest, what's the best way to get the most out of your visit? So in this video,
we'll share 10 ways to get around Paris and see the must-see sites so that your trip is amazing.
So Antoine, are you ready to go? Yes. Allez, on y va. Let's go.
One of the very best ways to get around Paris and visit the must-see sites is to walk,
because you can see Paris up close and personal. Walk through the streets and feel the vibe,
stop in cafes or window shop, or to capture that photo in the moment instead of hurrying up while
you're driving by. You get to hear the sounds, smell the smells, and just feel the city. And
Paris is very walkable, so whether you take a guided walking tour or you venture out on your own,
walking is a great way to visit Paris. Another great way to visit Paris is on a bicycle. It's
true that Paris is walkable, and one comment we often hear is about how many steps people took
on their trip. Renting a bicycle is the next best thing. You can ride through town or along the Seine.
You can even take a bike tour to Versailles, which is quite lovely, but riding a bike is definitely
a good way to discover the must-see places in Paris. Now you have rental bicycle stations all
over Paris called Villib, and there's a couple of rental companies like Lime that have bicycles
all over Paris. But if you don't feel comfortable doing it on your own, they also have great tours
that you can book in advance, and we're going to put some links in the description
so you can check it out and see if that's a good fit for you.
Another great way to get around Paris is on a scooter. I love riding scooters in Paris,
especially along Rue de Rivoli from the Hotel de Ville in Le Marais to Place de la Concorde or
the Pégale area in Montmartre. There's just a sense of freedom and excitement, like I'm part
of this city, and you see things from a totally different perspective that you might otherwise
miss. If you have good balance and a sense of adventure, do yourself a favor and rent a scooter
in Paris. Another way to visit Paris is of course with the metro. Now the metro system in Paris is
awesome. It's efficient and affordable. It costs €1.90 for one ticket if you buy a bundle of 10
or just €1.40, and it goes everywhere you want to go. There are stations near all the must-see
places in Paris, so whether you get an individual ticket or one of the Navigo passes, you're ready
to go just about anywhere. And the RER or suburbs train run from some of the same metro stations,
but they are faster with less stops, and it'll take you a lot further out like Versailles,
Disneyland Paris, and the two major airports in Paris, Charles de Gaulle and Orly.
Paris city buses is another great way to get around town and see the must-see sites. There
are routes that cross major areas of town, including rides from the airport from Bastille
to the Eiffel Tower and more, like bus route 69 and 86 are excellent. This is an efficient way to get
the lay of the land and get around at the same time. It's also a great option for people with
mobility issues, and it's the same cost as a metro ride or €1.90, and you can buy the ticket
right when you get on the bus. You don't have to have it in advance, so it's a great option.
Another way to get around Paris is with a taxi or Uber. Now, taxis and Ubers are definitely
available all over Paris, just like any other big city. They're direct and personal, effective ways
to get from place to place, especially if you have a time stamp to a ticket, if you're going
to be out late at night, or if you have mobility issues. And depending on your driver, you may get
good tips and info about the city. Mostly, it comes down to personal preference. If you want
to take the taxi, we highly recommend the G7 app, which will make your life a lot easier to grab a
taxi when you need it. And beware of fake taxis, specifically in a train station and the airport,
where people are offering you a ride pretending to be a taxi. The way to know if you're in a
real taxi is it has the taxi sign on top of the car. If it doesn't, it's a fake taxi.
Another great way to get around Paris is on a Seine River cruise, because seeing Paris from
the river is always a good idea. That perspective adds something magical. So, whether it's a guided
tour on a boat like the Vedette or Bateau Parisien, or the hop-on hop-off Bateau Bousse,
we highly recommend taking a cruise. It gives you a nice view of how close things actually
are and how walkable the city is. And it's a cool, breezy, fun ride.
Another great way to visit the must-see sites of Paris is on a hop-on hop-off bus.
Just like any big city, Paris has the hop-on hop-off bus tours, like the Big Bus and the Toothbus.
This is another great way to get your bearings when you arrive. And of course, it will take you
to the must-see places. And you have the freedom to stop and visit key sites or grab lunch in that
restaurant you heard about and are dying to try. This is a great thing to do as soon as you arrive.
Another great way to discover Paris is to hire a vintage car, either by day or by night. For an
extra bit of charm in this magical city of light, taking a tour in a vintage car is one of the most
super memorable experiences. The drivers are quite knowledgeable and can take you through
back streets, point out hidden gems and bring you to the must-see places with a big reveal.
You can book a tour by day or Paris by night. Either way, it's extraordinary. And for a bit
of nostalgia, you can also book a vintage sidecar and ride through the streets of Paris
like they did in the old days. It's so much fun and a great way to see all the sights around Paris.
And last but not least, you can hire a private guided tour or a private driver to take you
around. This could be a day trip in the middle of your stay, or a driver can pick you up and show
you around Paris before dropping you off at the airport. That could be important if your hotel
room isn't ready when you arrive, or if you have to check out long before your flight time, or if
you're looking for a more personalized tour, or to combine a short tour with an airport transfer,
I would highly recommend to book a private tour. And we put a link in the description below to our
favorite private tour guide which is called My Private Paris, so check him out if that's for you.
All right, so that does it for today. Thank you so much for watching this video. Please make sure
