Highlights: Christine Sinclair brace leads Thorns past Spirit 4-0

Well, we are ready for an early kickoff from Providence Park in Portland, Oregon, due to extreme temperatures expected in the area. So keep an eye on that temperature as the Portland Thorns want to continue their great form at home and make a push for the playoffs, hosting the Washington Spirit. Gets Benini into the action. Another switch to Huster. Good work here from Washington. The shot from Torrey Huster and the save from Branch. There it is. And she'll play it quickly. Trying to get it behind Allie. Long question. Trying to give the Thorns the lead. Nadim, the save from Heretic, but the rebound right back. Trying to get this Washington back line out of sorts. Sinclair one times it. Nadim is clearly onside. This ball in behind. No one's picking up Sinclair. Catches Zydorski, I believe, with that first touch. Goes against her momentum as she beats her. And it's not a great first touch. Heretic thinks she's going to come out, cut down that angle. But Sinclair just hits it perfect. Half volley to see that one home. Holds on to it. Allows time for Sinclair to join in the attack. Sinclair heads it down for Nadim. Nadim, the shot, and Heretic had come out. Good thing she did. Klingenberg service. A little more driven. Flicked from Huster. What a setup from Klingenberg on that one. The ball from Sinclair to pick out Klingenberg. She stays with it. One move, the shot off the crossbar. A forceful take back, and then a take down, it looked like. But Long's still going. And the offside flag will negate that goal. Doherty-Howard, take her shot and maybe caught French a little on the wrong foot. First corner of the second half for the Thorns. Headed up. So this is a nice ball again served in. And the initial header looks like it may be long. The deflection is just bouncing around. And then Sinclair jumps on it. The crowd cheering them on, as always. Nice turn by Weber on the far side. Jordan, time in the box, gets it to her left foot. And right there to greet her is Heretic. Doesn't get many minutes on the field. She's going to enjoy them. And the Portland Thorns in there will enjoy this one. A 4-0 shutout victory in impressive fashion over the Spirit.
